I always enjoyed the simplistic concept of the one suit in the 1989 film. The 1992 one really annoys me, it looks like a shopping sale of Batsuits! It was too much in my opinion even when I first saw it. The one suit in a safe worked just fine. I can just hear the unlocking and the imposing theme of that scene, much better than the 1992 version.
It might not have actually been his decision on the suit designs because he actually wanted a darker movie and even had a script written by Frank Miller(Before he lost his mind) but exec interference prevented this from happening.
89: Iconic and perfectly acted and composed 92: A little weird to have multiple versions of the suit and a little slow, but still good 95: Actually fairly good, aside from the close up on the butt 97: Starts off okay and then delves right into campy territory with the butt and chest close ups
Of course he'd have many versions of the same suit: he's a fetishistic billionaire and the suits get badly damaged from his nightly patrols. Also, the scene is used as a thematic contrast with Catwoman, both as far as the male/female dynamic and the overall economic issues.

No one would expect it to be a genuinely serious and incredible film, and not just a silly blockbuster. I love how with the Keaton suit, the head and shoulders is all one big piece, that gets held down by the Batman symbol on the chest. This is why he has to tear the mask off when talking to Selena ( Michelle Pheiffer ), at the end of Batman Returns, unlike the Christian Bale Batman mask that can just lift right off his head.
And you couldn't turn your head at all in the suit according to each actor who's played the part. Hence why we got the epic Bat turn in the 90's Batman flicks.
I just love how in Batman returns he seems to go for one specific suit even if they are all the same, like, why ''that one''. Plus, seing Batman walk out the Bat-Walkin and avoiding to bump into the suit in the way cracks me up every time !

Mask of the Phantasm (1993) was in movie theaters, and he does suit up in that movie. That one is still my favorite suit up scene, and it's still the best Batman movie. RIP Kevin Conroy. You belong to the ages. Whenever a comic book gets read involving Batman, I will always hear your voice.

I wonder what it was like filming the Schumacher scenes. Having a huge 90's Camera pointed at your arse and crotch in complete silence whilst in a dark studio.
Looking at this montage, they did get very weird didn't they?! I had the 'making of' books for each film and I loved how the suits were created and designed. So much detail and whilst it didn't phase me with the ass shots at the time, someone designed all these outfits. The work that went into each film by Bob Ringwood, Mary Vogt, Ingrid Ferrin, Robert Turturice and especially Jose Fernandez amongst the other sculptors and designers were really something. I always loved the art in these films. I miss the practical side of filmmaking and the suits for the films will always make a big impression on me for their craft. Keats suit up in the 1989 film will always be my favourite and the score so elevates the moment for me.
Keaton will always be my favourite and what a team up with Burton..Then you have Nolan an Bale which was amazing..Then you have the animated series from the 90's and the cheesy 60's, great ....and then you have the other 2 films which should be deleted from film history.
