Wow, not only are kazoos way cooler than I realized, but AURUS is incredible! Absolutely loving the album so far
Thank you soooo much !
He is!
@@NicolasBras Good day sir! Ive been meaning to ask, what is the name of the tuning app that you usually use in your videos?
@NicolasBras what would you think about making a sliding attachment for this (like a trombone)?
HOW have I not found aurus before????? Killer vocalist!
Oh thank you very much !
The best!
Love it the flute addendum almost sound like diphonic singing. Absolute killer when you play together !
diphonic singing?
Thank you !
@@nuberiffic Some Mongolian singers can produce two sounds together when they sing like another harmonics Very suprising and beautiful
@@jipes that's not a Mongolian thing.
Lots of cultures have that, throat singing is quite common.
I've just never heard it called "siphonic singing" before
@@nuberiffic Diphonic means that two notes are produced at the same time. Actually the right term in english is called Overtone Singing
What a beautiful voice Aurus has! I went straight to spotify to listen to his songs and man... what amazing sound! I'm listening to his album for the second time now.
Thank you so much !!!
@@aurusmusic8506 My friends and wife liked your music too. One of them said you have a "fantastic voice timbre". You do has it. I'm the one who wants to thank you and Nicolas for presenting your music to us. I'll do the same among my friends in Brazil :)
Your brilliance never ceases to amaze. AURUS is spectacular.
Thanks a lot!
So I started getting into these kinds of DIY/junk instruments only a few weeks ago! And among other things "comb and paper" stuff as well as messing with kazoos specifically and wondering what all I can do with them. Of course you were a big inspiration!
Love the jug band cello, too. Just got s couple suitcases with the intention of making musical instruments out of them though I was thinking of percussion at the time. So now I'm going to have to mess with this, too!
Someone get Aurus a golden robe to match that beautiful hat and earring combo ... Bro is absolutely rocking it :0
Is no-one going to mention Aurus' headgear? He wears that piece of brass like it's an every day fashion accessory that we're all used to!
Nicolas handed him a kalimba he made, but forgot to tell him what it was. Aurus wore it in his head.
@@aldiergreen baha😂 niiice one🤣
@@aldiergreenOf course!
Which one is Aurus?
@@gavinbonser3602 The one who is not Nicolas.
Fantastic collaboration, will we see more of you two together?
That will probably happen!
@@NicolasBras Looking forward to it! What an amazing voice, paired with your unique and awesome instruments make a goosebumps experience for sure. Love the song!
2:46 we can. And when we don't it still sounds amazing, old bluesy garage sound, I'd like to hear more of that
4:21 omg that's so fire
This dropped right as I was packing some flower for break time. How absolutely perfect.
-Pull up the Lewitt mic
Singer : Pointing directly at the capsule
You are awesome. I made a bas together with my son from a broken guitar string, a long stick and to screws. Keep on being strange and beautiful. Much love ;-)
Wow. This really caught me off guard. What a fantastic voice
Great video, and great song ! Could we maybe have a breakdown on this plastic bootle xylophone you're using ?
I will work on it!
Thank you so much for this interesting funny sound lesson and the chance to getting to know this most beautifullest song from an outstanding impressing artist.
What a lovely album. Fan now.
❤🎉
Welcome back!
This is really impressive man!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks!
Love the overtones 5:40! Reminds me of Tuvan throat singing.
Looove the music!
Thanks a lot
Holy moly, that song really blew me away 🤩. You guys are a great combo, I love how enthusiastic Aurus reacted to your creations. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you very much. How can you not be enthusiastic with every instrument from Nicolas ? ^^
@@aurusmusic8506 I love the song, how is called or is there any link on spotify?
@@jotask The song is called "Horus" by me (Aurus) so if you type "Horus Aurus" you will find it on every streaming platform. There's also the official music video on my youtube channel ;)
Yooo, somehow didn't realize i had the playback speed up. The hard stop at 12:52 went extra hard
You two is quite a duo.
Thanks ;)
We had a lot of fun!
Loved that exploration!
Amazing everything!! Thank you!
Thanks!
I love the sound that starts at 5:45 . Very interesting.
Thanks a lot
Nice video 😊 Aurus is great too - his comfort in high, soft sounds remind me of Einar Solberg!
Great experiments and music.
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you
This is sickly creative!
Grand merci!
I curiously hesitated to watch the video. It would have been such a loss! Amazing creativity, I'm impressed because music instruments was one of the subjects I thought as fully explored. Not at all!
thanks a lot!
that song is amazing!
nice, I'm a big kazoo fan and a years long user, you missed out on a few very interesting and useful musical techniques with it. Hard to describe with words. Nice music, cool cat that singer is
Yep i focused on the object, but so much more to explore!
@@NicolasBras try cradling the membrane part in your hands and ocasionally opening it up creating a wah-like effect like when harmonica players do it. Or before installing the membrane, but a wire, or a crossed wire across the tube end and then the membrane, so it can resonate against that wire, creating a more audible resonation... tho the wire should be flush against the membrane, tricky, but not impossible :)
AWESOME!
Wow. The voice!
that head dress thingy is cool, really good voice too.
So insightful! What a cool song too, I'm surprised at how awesome the kazoo choir sounds!
Thank you very much !!! ^_^
the song is gorgeous
Thank you so mucj ! We made a version of one of my songs. You can listen to the original version on any streaming platform or have a look at the music video on my RUclips channel. The track is "Horus" (by Aurus) ;-)
7:33 THIS is a "bio" vocoder!
And the other too !!!
Very interesting, analog vocal effects
Very nice! Thank you!
The great high vocal of aurus and your Gritty Low sounding instrumen are Amazing .. too late to comment and not finish this video early , but thankfully worth to watch till the end .. thanks nicolas ..
I've been a one-man-band for years now, and I have multiple Kazoos and use them as my "brass" section when I play. Percussions played with both feet, some stringed instruments between my hands and kazoos. And singing. Yeah, it's getting complicated.
I was not expecting that song at the end :o Killer voice from Aurus, and killer performance from both of you!
The song at the end on Bandcamp when? :)
kazoos are the best instrument
Agreed!
Reminds me of the noise makers we made in high school.
It was a marker tube through the bottom of an orange medicine bottle. With a Ballon stretched over the top of the medicine bottle and contacting the marker tube. Blowing in a hole in the side of the medicine bottle would make the air force the Ballon membrane to vibrate and escape out the marker tube.
The length of the marker tube had a lot of effect on the tone.
Ha! Just when I never thought a kazoo could ever be cool😂. Also thanks for introducing me to Aurus! He's amazing! I LOVE that song at the end! OMG
Bravo !
10:56 Waouh !!!!
Tune! ❤
thank you! more aawsome embrane expiremets!
Awesome. Thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing song at the end...
I approve!
Incredible :)
Made my day. Again.
Neat!
This is my first time watching a video by this channel and I have to say that I am Impressed. thank you Nicolas and AURUS
Very nice like what you do, have you tried a slide for the resonator bit I wonder if a vocalist could play with it more than set lengths.
"Tense, but not too much, but still.” is me all day, everyday 😅
Maaan you just saved me hours of experimentation. I was just about to go that soundtrip... trying to find my best kazoo-based instrument, portable, easy mic-able. versatile, and cool, I used a sax type mouth piece (using own plastic virbo element) just to try , and embolo flute to try to change pitch, I guees if the kazzo type is the main, also the voice will be the main pitch bending method but love how other types of instrument pieces can change or vary the pitch or overall sund. Love this Kepp on.
By the way, I guess you know some southamerican wind instrument called flauta de millo? take a look at the way it vibrates and changes note and pitch, I use to play with a friend making asian-like scales in a world-ethnic music band.
Awesome! Always wondered if you'd do one on the kazoo
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G EVERYTHING.
AURUS you are amazing !! what a voice !!!
it would be interesting to see a throat singer use the version with "flute holes" modulating the sound.
The kazoo with the baby mouthpiece reminds me a little of Martin Sexton when he does his vocal solos through a microphone with distortion.
You're amazing dude. And a huge inspiration! Originally I just wanted to know what a Nagelgeige is and just stumbled into a whole new rabbit hole. But I should better get back to studying... Looking forward to come back though!
Nicolas, what about a kazoo with a bike pump? could be used as a filter sweep sound? Lovely video
Fyi, i have an electric kazoo. Found it almost 2 years ago. It has a metal membrane that resonates sympathetically and a magnetic coil pickup. Then plug it into any guitar effects. Then directly into the mixer or recorder.
After watching this, I am totally going to steal your ideas here and try it with my electric one.
I wonder if you put the flex pipe before the resonator...
@8:56 sounded like Yoko Ono singing for a second there 🤣😆
Oh, wow.. he really can sing... nice 😎
What a beautiful video! I clicked on it with a funny intention cause of Kazoo but you leave me absolutely fascinated. At some points I had Blade Runner 2049 vibes. Awesome
eccezionale!
10:34 incoming elephant roar!
interesting ❤️
The is the best video ever :D haha
more membranes o specific lenghts could be interesting too
plus on the end a small hose from soft balloon rubber.
...
i am now going to the workshop to try something
Honestly, a great song!! Reminds me kind of Massive Attack vibes.
Did you try the "Daisy Cuter" a very weird Doromb but with original and in a kind of way a cool sound.
Try adding snare drum wires to the membrane.
Would a pan flute arrangement help with harmonics? As the human voice goes higher or lower, different pipes take over as the primary resonator. I dunno I just want to know what that sounds like but I don't have time to make one myself.
I integrate a trance acoustic instrument from a guitar in saxophone. It was funny. Maybe you should experiment with way too?
Salut Nicolas ! Excellent vidéo encore, tu es en france? Il est possible de visiter ton atelier ?
Hey Nicolas, have you ever made a jaw harp? Would love to see the crazy stuff you would come up with🤩
Is the hat some kind of instrument? Thought it was a hubcap or something, but I guess instrument would make more sense.
The best part was your sweet song...i love that...❤
8:57 that's the moment your neighbor comes asking for some sugar.
He's the best !
@@eddyrun WOW !!! Merci du fond du coeur 🤍🙏
Does the double bass suitcase or pressurized bottles have a video?
it's like a primitive talkbox
❤
