not overdriving is noticeable Most fun i’ve ever had on a road was finding some mountains near the spot i was having a holiday at. then i just sent it 7 tenths. had me giggling the whole time compared to going 9 tenths on my local touge
I always though that the race line depends on the car, Alonzo use to take advantage of his car tires (my english sucks, the tires sre large) he brake a little late then push all the car gaining speed fast, now! Senna was brake suddenly and keep kicking the gas pedal to manage to make the car slide a little bit and gain high rpm at the exit of the curve. Both different cars and different lines

Use landmarks and unique corners to help you memorize the layout of the course. Do a few back to back to back slow laps just like were mentioned to help speed up the process 👍
Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast...something I learned through repetition in my USMC days, that somehow applies to a lot more things in life than my original learned purpose.
The one important thing for touge, that everyone should remember, is rule that says, that you cannot be fast if you're pulling pedal to the metal. I knew much of racers, that were good at racing track, but absolutely otherwise at touge. You should know where you should open throttle and where not. You should use your car on it maximum, but you should do it smart
Racing line depends on the overall section, it's not corner by corner. Most important thing is, to get a good exit on the following straight after a combination - bring the power down early. So start drawing your racing line backwards from the exit's straight, with the most straight exit line possible. When you're entering a combination, you should try to brake in deep, and take as much rotational force with your car as you can hold, swing it like a pendulum. 😊
Yeah late apexes and simply hugging the inside all the way round are a good way to set yourself up for the next corner. The corner itself will be slower but you'll probably gain time over the entire run. Late apexes will also give you a higher exit speed if a corner leads to a straight.
also if you made it up to highschool, image the factual definition of acceleration. (changes in velocity. this means acceleration also includes cornering and changes in speed.) the #1 advice I can give, is to avoid all accelerations as much as possible, especially sudden accelerattions.
Funny enough, overdriving made me slightly faster than 90% of people on the servers I'm playing on 😂 My PBs are usually just 3-7 seconds slower than the current fastest on the server. For example usui circuit, usually the best time is from 2:05 to 2:10, my lap time on Ae86 Tuned varies from 2:12 to 2:16 (depends on a day (bad or good), amount of players and car settings which I change pretty often to understand how to setup the car properly) On the lines where it would be smarter to drive 130 kmh MAX, I drive up to 140-160 and then smash the brake pedal before entering the corner. It most likely looks awful to anyone driving behind me, but it's somehow few milliseconds faster
im new to this and i am very used to circuit racing, so i have question. Wouldn't it be faster to brake later and not coast then to brake earlier and coast untill the apex? like trailbraking?
I can lap the nordschleife pretty good and I'm decent at rally but for some reason touge is to hard for me. Maybe it's becouse I'm actually racing idk.
I have a question, is it ever faster to slide the car to slow down and take a turn? It definitely feels cool to oversteer and then 4 wheel slide into a corner and power round it, but are there any corners this could actually be faster?
this assumes i have any idea what im doing beforehand, i literally have never done touge before this and have no idea what speed to enter corners, how to steer. literally nothing. how can i learn the very basics? ive never done anything on a wheel before and need help and this assumes i want to get better not start off
@@cooba9021 there's literally no reason not to, unlike traction control which will usually slow you down. Unless you have good pedals, but on logitech pedals it's pretty much impossible to be better than abs
I already do this... I play car x myself and it's hard as balls to do the complicated stuff like no control steering or whatever the actual name is, try having front tire grip through a corner and only using the accelerator to turn. Only turn on entry then no more. You shouldn't drift, but more like sliding your tires and wearing them a little less than drift. While grip is better for tire wear, this still conserves and is even faster.
if your racing you wouldnt drift because you lose a lot of time, bc you dont take the curbes by the apex so, you cant keep a straigth line to have less time in your laps. but if you are in a free roam doesnt matter

As far as I know, drifting is generally slower. But on touges, if you "drift" in a really low angle, its sometimes faster than full grip.
