@@PassionateDJ To my surprise I'm actually loving it. It's like a mini version of my other setup that consists of a Rane 72 and Pioneer PLX 1000's. Took less than an hour to figure it out. Thanks again for the review. It helped me in my decision.

I love its built like a tank way better than djing on a cheap piece of plastic that just feels cheap can't wait to buy this.
Quick follow-up for those calling me out about the *Numark NS7III.* 0:43 I say "it lands in a unique space in the _current_ dj market, with no other controller incorporating motorized 7" turntable platters..." I did not say, "this is the first DJ controller to ever do this." I'm aware of the NSIII (see: 14:29).
I admit this was a moment of poor scripting, but the fact is that *the NSIII was released in 2015 and is discontinued* . As I said, it lands in a unique space in the current DJ market.

Great review! I'm disappointed that it doesn't have hardware effects; I like to add effects on the mic channel. How do you compare the Rane One to the DDJ-1000?

I really like the Rane One but i wish it had the hardware effects not a big fan of the Serato effects.
I absolutely love my DDJ-1000 but it feels ultra plastic. I am looking forward to using this.
for the "plastic" feel I disagree, BUT everyone has their own taste and texture... I have both cdjs and 1000s and those are fucking mint to none the same, since I practice on both at home for clubs and festival circuit. I don't play vinyl but I respect it, never got into it, but wasn't brought up on em... my pops was. lol
I have a DDJ-1000, and this is definitely a tank. About the weight of my 1000, with the case.

Yeah I was definitely thinking about that S11 myself and also thinking about this Rane one I kind of slowed down some with djing but wouldn’t mind having it I may go with the Rane one first!

When it comes to riding the beat and lining them up. Can you grab the side of the platter and rotate it up and down without the platter stopping?
Great video tutorial Gents. I couldn’t pull off a scratch to save my own life but I am still tempted to swap out my Pioneer DDJSX3, just because I was always a turntable mixer and miss the feel of it. I think this would be a great alternative. I just wish it had a few more effects built in.
That's exactly why I'm going with the red 7 instead of the rain one because of the effects I had an ns73 that I love and the rain one isn't that much better than the ns73 actually I think they are about even 3 is a 4-channel what does the rain one really do that the Ns7iii doesn't?

The DJ market is fighting; switching & leaving the laptop at home. Just like they were fighting; switching & leaving CD's home years age. And taking a thumb drive or using your laptop.
You never know what the MKII version will have I wish I knew if they were going to make a MKII version

I would have definitely gotten this Rane 1 if I didn't have the Denon Prime 4 already. This is exactly what I can use.
The effects are a little underwhelming compared to some other controllers though. But, that wouldn't stop me from getting this.
Yea pretty much a scratch controller but still able to do some fx but alot needed to be done manually.

You mis spoke. Rane's distant cousin Numark released the first vinyl emulation controller.
I didn't say it was the first. NS7III was released in 2015, and is discontinued. (I acknowledge NS7 line at 14:29) :)

I'm still questioning the fader to turntable response. How much of a delay is there? In the videos I've seen it seems like there's a lag in response to what I seen on the waveforms screen. Its like there's no sharp cut.

I'm very glad you explained this unit in detail; especially for those who want to start and have a unit to grow on. Im in my 50's I personally have at least 3k in Cd's if I stored them mp4 format, whats required can this controller play it.. Just curious, Im still going purchase this unit either way. Talk about living out your DJ fantasy at home..

If the sound quality out of the sound card is good, then this will be a Game changer. Numark did this with their original NS7 - It was a great idea, but I was not a fan of that all red metering and was just ugly. This look legit, I’m sure they’ll make adjustments to it & render pioneer controllers obsolete in this price range - They might even dlow down or stop selling 12s all together 😂😳

I had a NS7 III. Ok. Great machine. But 15kg is to much to gigs. This Rane have the same features but smaller and 5kg Less.

It's not an all in one unit. The Denon Prime 4 is. You still need a computer with this. Now motorized platters on a Prime 4. Now that's truly a standalone.

@@starlite3597 I know that. In the review it was mentioned the Rane was a standalone controller. Since you mentioned platters. Denon does have the SC6000M. That is a true standalone controller with motorized platters. And their also larger. I do realize ; it is a table top. But still considered a controller. The same company owns both brands. Denon has been doing true standalone media controllers for years. Rane just started; and that's because Denon owns them.

They way to much for that junk 1,499.00 for a dj controller is to over priced there are other controllers for less that and it does the same thing I RATHER BYE TWO technique 1200.s mk5 for the the price . and it’s just my opinion now in days djs don’t even make a lot of money unless your Carl Cox or timo mass Or Louie Vega I make in one in nyc night club clean $600 flat no dj here can tell me they make more been in this game to long son I know the ropes THE RIDDLER HAS SPOKEN things are way different and if talking it tells me you a new jack a dj don’t need all that
