I honestly don't know how much money...I'm hoping to keep costs low everywhere I can. Like most of us, times are tight and I just don't have any "extra" income to spend on big ticket items so I will be improvising/calling in favors/getting into debt/trading video work/selling my body to medical research to continue on this thing...but for some reason I really want to see this dream become a reality! Thanks so much for watching and commenting, seriously...THANKS EVERYONE!!!
WOW ! I am so impressed with what you are doing with the Maverick ! You are truly embarked upon your own journey and I wouldn't dream for a moment to say anything as to what you should do - period ! Can't wait to see this car on the road ! Cheers from Ontario, Canada.
Howdy, I'm so glad you discovered this video series... I have some bad news... I never actually finish this car... sorry. It was a bummer for me but thanks for the supportive comment... I did work on a Mustang project ruclips.net/p/PL_oEM8z39tKCW3RWsbKSSE90E5R968kOC
autoedit what?! Why not this looks awesome ...i'm thinking of getting a maverick in future as a project car not sure what engine I would drop in it but this look interesting
@urdadddy1 Work is keeping me away from the Maverick right now but I should dig in on some interior sheet metal work soon and I'll update in a month or so... Thanks so much for watching! I hope to get it started in a few months.
That is so cool! I never thought about that...but now that I am...it makes me so happy to think about Viper V10's screaming from the hull of an off-shore power boat. WOW...great share.
This is the only reason I wish that I had money. I would love just to spend my time building amazing, one-of-a-kind vehicles that everyone can enjoy. I hope to one day be in your shoes. Keep up the absolutely amazing work!
that´s an awesome job you´re doing there! congratulations! I sent this video to several friends who, like me, own a maverick, and they´re simply astonished with your achievement! Can´t wait to see this beast on a run! Cheers all the way from Brazil.
my first car was a 1974 maverick thing is im 18 now nd still driving her its just an i6 car used to be auto but me nd my dad converted it over to a stick its awesome to see someone working a maverick like this keep it up!!!!
Yup, I loved that Camaro and commuted every day to work in bumper to bumper traffic with the A/C on and it did just fine. The key is to build to what you are going to use it for. I knew lots of traffic and track days were in order so a big radiator and fans were mandatory and a worthwhile investment. Second most important was the Hotchkis suspension/subframe connectors then brakes and exhaust! Enjoy your project!!!
I'm not a fan of different branded engines in cars but I have to admit I kinda like this one. Your work and skill and dedication to this is very impressive and inspiring. I have an '88 Thunderbird TurboCoupe that I keep flip-flopping about on whether to get rid of it or try to fix it up. Watching stuff like this definitely makes me want to go and work on it. Thanks for the great videos and keep up the good work!
At least people who appreciate a genuinely unique (and in your case, awesome) approach. As for any ideas... This truly feels like a sweet Mad Max style car!
i also have a 1970 maverick in the works right now,, i was only able to afford a 289 but its all good,, maybe someday ill be able to afford a 302 crate engine,, but what u have started with our maverick is amazing,, it blew my mind
I really like the chassis work you've put in there. Anyone can grab a book and build an engine, but chassis work is enough stuff, let alone doing it right!
That's a great idea...my only problem is no more money right now...I'm working for the owner of the shop that it's at now just to get the new roll cage built. There is plenty of room up front for that thing and I did love the sound of Samuel Hubinette's drift Viper which had a supercharger! Thanks!!!
My dad had a '75 Mav., so I understand you wanting this as a base. I would paint it black, with subtle dark blue viper-like striping and have on the fenders "something wicked this way comes" :) Love it so far...
thats amazing :O. love the story behind it too, i also drive a maverick, a 71 grabber my dad bought for me when i was 8 years old, its got p/s, p/b, a/c, deluxe interior, the grabber package, C4 auto, all mated to a 250 i6. im planning on building the six as opossed to dropping the usual 302 into it...still great car weather its 6 shooter or V10 powered :D
Jesus this is a dream coming through!! i have two mavericks myself. One is standard with few changes and the other I am building a twin-turbo on it. It is hard to find some parts down here in Brazil but I will get there. On the other hand your project is just amazing. Congratulations!!
neither am i big fan of dodge or ford. but man i understand what your doing and i absolutely love it. i hope everything works out great for you. awesome build. period
I haven't sub'd anything out fabrication wise yet...I do have a friend that is going to help me with the oil pan surgery...I hope to get some video of that in the next month or so. Getting the frame right was pretty straight forward. Just measure like crazy and don't rush. I just figured where the wheels needed to be and built out to meet them with the chassis and suspension. I dig that you've got something so unique going as well...good luck!!!
Awesome job on the Maverick, I own two a 73 that I redid in 05, and a 70' sitting in the garage that I haven't had time to touch in about five years, plan on doing something awesome like your doing, probably not as crazy, good work keep the videos coming
I love how you manage to clean the exterior lines yet still retain the stock look even with that monster under the hood. You're gonna have some seriously surprised competition if you get that thing on the track. :)
That is an amazing Jensen, I absolutely love it! Thanks so much for the help and I hope to need it later this year because that means that the Maverick is moving forward.
I'm one of those guys that loves a sleeper car. I would put any stripes on it unles its a pin stripe down the body to follow the lines. I had rally stripes on cars even a lot of the cars that had them on from the factory. Mavric had some great looking color combos. My uncle had a white and orange one back in the day. I cant remember the way the combo was but it sticks out to me. This is going to be a crazy fun car when done.
now That should win the Sleeper of the year award... when you pulled off the hood i kinda coughed in amazement... i expected a junk instead i saw a centerlined v10... a well sorted chassis...everything looks perfect..its amazing well done indeed. cant wait to see the video where you drive it,Good Luck on the build :)
Excellent review video. I use this program as well and didn't realize what all it could do til I watched your review vid. Keep up the great work and thanks for the straightforward assessment. Best Regards Damon
Good spot! And yes, 2.5 degrees of camber and 5 degrees of caster there buddy...I like a very aggressive front end on my track car and that little dude was a ton of fun!
I love the car and the uniqueness of this build! Excellent workmanship as well! I'm not one of those guys who is totally biased towards one make of automobile. I did and LS1 swap in a 98' SN95 mustang a couple of years ago and everybody "loved" it haha.
I love this car build I've seen all kinds of cars built up and modified but I think this is the first maverick I have ever seen done like this My mother and father had a 71 maverick when I was a kid it was a brown color and they had it forever so it seemed mom also had a Pinto at the time too and it was plum Purple kinda strange to think of a Maverick as a muscle car but this one definitely WILL BE
Thanks, I'm totally diggin that your mom suggests a color for this project! So many of us have old jalopy memories because of a car just like this. I'll bet you can do a Six Degrees of Separation between all of us and a Maverick! I actually have a sketch with the car yellow and black Grabber stripes...that is way up the list right now.
I'm a guy who likes to see a ford, stay a ford, but in this case, the car is a vast improvement in every way. great job on your one of a Kind Mav, going to be quite the screamer.
Nice job on the Mav. really quality craftsmanship. Don't forget to limo tint hte windows (to hide the cage). Install a single dummy 1 3/4" tailpipe and route some exhaust gas through it for effect. While utilizing the raised floor to hide the dual 3" dumps with. It will be sleeper game over once you start her up though. I personally love the "Reef Blue Metallic of the '93 Mustang.
I think a pearl white with black inlays would look sharp on this car. Maverick has always been my favorite car to drive and would like to build my own someday
Cool that you're leaving the outside pretty well stock. Mavericks can be a great looking car if fixed up properly. I am currently re-doing my 70 Maverick I had in high school...but it's pretty well stock. Can't wait to see updates on this one!
Absoltuley awsome!!!!! I just sent you my response of my 71 maverick I was restoring in the late 80's. Sure miss it. Was planning on a blower for it but as far as I got was the hood scoop.
Hi Jason, congratulations on your car's work so far, I bet it's really amazing to pump it up that way. I'm also up for the dark blue + white stripes in the middle, so when they see it coming, and screaming, they stand all amazed at what sounds like a viper, looks like a viper, but its a damn Maverick!
Wow, that Maverick is mint! I love your vids man and your cars are right up my alley! keep making these great videos because I think I speak for many when I say that i enjoy the hell out of them!
If you're referring to the width of the tires...there's this little thing called traction, ever heard of it? If you're referring to the size of the wheels...17" rims are only two inches larger than the factory 15's that came off of this car and fit the wheel arches absolutely perfect AND have excellent handling characteristics.
I really dig these underrated cars. Im 28 and have owned my 73 comet GT since i was 16. These cars are somewhat lightweight and a blast to drive. Just a suggestion: i shaved my front bumper, narrowed and tucked it. Also side markers are shaved like yours. A lot of ppl like the shelby tail lights or the old cougar tail lights, but i like the stock look idea
I went to school with a guy who had a wine red maverick with spun centerlines and I've fot to admit that I'm a big time Chevy guy as my toy is an ls6 chevelle that's red with black stripes but I really like the looks of your project so far. GOOD LUCK
jason ive seen a lot of your videos, you have done some real amazing things. this being one of them! good luck with your next build. cant wait to see it.
Ford macerick is very popular here in brazil.....so.....its a very beautiful car in my opinion.....and this engine its amazing......very beautiful your project......i begin my project soon too!!!
@03GTZE Thanks! Yeah, I like to keep it that way too and I don't mean to poke fingers in anybody's eyes with this one...I wanted a Ford Triton V10 but couldn't get 600+ HP for less than $10k and stumbled across this really low miles Viper motor for cheaper than you'd think and it just happened. Thanks again for watching!
Wow , That is going to be one cool Maverick . And I didn't expect a Viper V10 . I thought maybe a Ford small block . Good luck with it . Cool dog too !!!
@big440dart Great observation, but this is not a drag car. For road racing, which I'm building this car for, I've had very good experience with the bars intersecting at the center of gravity of the car. Similar theory to that of a Truck Arm set up in a NASCAR Cup car, the trailing arms pivot at the GOG of the vehicle. This allows better axle articulation during side loading which shouldn't be an issue in a drag car but does sacrifice weight transfer during hard launches so it's a trade off.
I had a 74 mercury comet that I painted Chevrolet "copper poly" that's my choice for your colour then you would have something from each of the big 3 or you could go with Dodge "go-mango"that's my 2nd choice. Whatever you go with though, you are gonna have one hell of ride. Fantastic job! Wish I would have done more with my Comet.
@Keysen94 It totally is! You have a certain budget and can only spend so much in certain places. Just recently I decided to spend the money for the stereo install to upgrade the cam and computer for the Viper engine...should up the horsepower from 505 to 600+ I'll just settle for the 10 cylinder symphony.
I agree with a bright yellow, it would look good with your wheel and tire selection. I drive a Maverick as well as a Torino and wherever I go people make comments about a brother having one in high school or a best friend or someone else. Six degrees alright!
Congratulations! I also start my Maverick project. Unhappy, in Brazil is more difficult find pieces like a dodge viper engine to customize this legendary car.
Lol. Just getting ready to compliment the quality of your channel and this vid. And then I noticed that you're the guy piloting the SuperSnake. Well done. The Maverick/Viper will be a blast to watch as your build goes forward.
@crushkrew Work has slowed to a stop right now due to lack of funding and to make matters worse a rat filled the intake manifold with dog food! I'll try to get an update video next week or so...totally crazy.
That is true...don't worry though, I'm not going to try and pass this off as a Ford once it's done. Thinking of calling it a FORDGE. Thanks for checking it out.
@FordMaverickFanatic Thanks for the pass...normally I'm a true Ford in a Ford and Chevy in a Chevy guy and I really tried to get a Ford V10 but it was very heavy and way more expensive to nail 600 n/a horsepower. Then there was the limited manual trans options...This engine weighs about the same as a Ford Cleveland V-8 and I scored both engine and trans. out of a wrecked Viper with only 12,000 miles for cheaper than you think! Plus it's just a cool power plant!
@fredski53 Dude, that was my first choice. After scouring craigslist and trying to get the parts/weight/horsepower things right...I found this Viper motor/computer/transmission for less than half what I would spend on the Triton motor alone tuned to 600 hp. And this thing is an all aluminum monster that has 525 c.i. for the same weight of a Ford Cleveland block! This car is a freak show for sure, but it is going to be a freak show that hauls.
This is going to be one bad ass Maverick! Personally, I'm not a big fan of the lowered look, and I would have put some cragars and some fat BF Goodrich tires on it. But that's what's great, everyone likes different things. I'm looking forward to seeing more updates!
Since you chose the V10 I would look at the stock Viper colors and then enhance those colors with some pearls and extra metal flake to make it pop but still look stock at first glance.

Thanks for the watch and the nice comment but I didn't finish this project... sorry for the let down

Wow. Really cool project. Hope things continue to go smoothly, looking forward to hearing her come alive.
Wow, very interesting build! It's quite a combination you've put together. I look forward to the finished piece.
That is so cool! I never thought about that...but now that I am...it makes me so happy to think about Viper V10's screaming from the hull of an off-shore power boat. WOW...great share.

Several years ago I saw the same year Maverick that had a turbocharged 4-Banger Model A Ford engine transplanted into it. Loved it!!
thats amazing :O. love the story behind it too, i also drive a maverick, a 71 grabber my dad bought for me when i was 8 years old, its got p/s, p/b, a/c, deluxe interior, the grabber package, C4 auto, all mated to a 250 i6. im planning on building the six as opossed to dropping the usual 302 into it...still great car weather its 6 shooter or V10 powered :D

I've just noticed the amount of what I can only assume are car care products in the background on the left side of the first shot. Epic!
Now that you've posted this video, I keep thinking I see this car everywhere. Any time I see a similar shape, I check it out.
I'm one of those guys that loves a sleeper car. I would put any stripes on it unles its a pin stripe down the body to follow the lines. that is the coolest thing i've ever seen. you definately got the stance right! awesome job!
Man! You deserve your own TV show.
@1oldskoolluvr Thanks for the laugh...that's a good one...and thanks for watching!
now That should win the Sleeper of the year award...

Now that is different, but nice. This is why I love this hobby for you do what your heart desires.
I love the car and the uniqueness of this build! Excellent workmanship as well! I'm not one of those guys who is totally biased towards one make of automobile. I did and LS1 swap in a 98' SN95 mustang a couple of years ago and everybody "loved" it haha.

I love this car build I've seen all kinds of cars built up and modified but I think this is the first maverick I have ever seen done like this
My mother and father had a 71 maverick when I was a kid
it was a brown color and they had it forever so it seemed
mom also had a Pinto at the time too and it was plum Purple
kinda strange to think of a Maverick as a muscle car but this one definitely WILL BE
Thanks, I'm totally diggin that your mom suggests a color for this project! So many of us have old jalopy memories because of a car just like this.
I'll bet you can do a Six Degrees of Separation between all of us and a Maverick!

Dam! I remember seeing this in the initial stages!!!! Hello Pinto!
wickedly awesome! love it! cant wait to hear her roar! will check back for updates. wonderful job so far man! keep up the great work.
I really like your build here Jason!!! It looks great and is some great inspiration to do one of these myself.
I'm a guy who likes to see a ford, stay a ford, but in this case, the car is a vast improvement in every way. great job on your one of a Kind Mav, going to be quite the screamer.

Absoltuley awsome!!!!! I just sent you my response of my 71 maverick I was restoring in the late 80's. Sure miss it. Was planning on a blower for it but as far as I got was the hood scoop.
Thanks for checking it out. I have to say that a Mercedes V8 engine swap into a Nova is something I've never heard of nor ever imagined. WOW.
NEED AN UPDATE VIDEO LOVE THE CAR!!! i think the idea of a v10 in a muscle is amazing
Wow this car is going to nasty. I love that you put the viper motor in it. Have some fun in that beast.
Awesome build! I think for the colour a nice dark green would look great! I seen Mavericks with this colour choice and looks fantastic!
Wow, that Maverick is mint! I love your vids man and your cars are right up my alley! keep making these great videos because I think I speak for many when I say that i enjoy the hell out of them!
If you're referring to the width of the tires...there's this little thing called traction, ever heard of it? @Guto302V8 You guys in Brazil get these cars...love the culture over there! Thanks for checking it out, friend!
I went to school with a guy who had a wine red maverick with spun centerlines and I've fot to admit that I'm a big time Chevy guy as my toy is an ls6 chevelle that's red with black stripes but I really like the looks of your project so far.
GOOD LUCK
I'm a true blue diehard Ford guy, but even with a Dodge motor, this car kicks ass!
jason ive seen a lot of your videos, you have done some real amazing things. this being one of them! good luck with your next build. cant wait to see it.
You are doing an AWESOME job!!! Keep up the good work.
Ford macerick is very popular here in brazil.....so.....its a very beautiful car in my opinion.....and this engine its amazing......very beautiful your project......i begin my project soon too!!!
Incredibly beautiful. I love the frame install and if your up for it. I would love to purchase your third gen.
Thanks, sadly both cars are sold now.
Total respect!! Looks like an awesome build!
WOW!!! Great stuff! I plan on working with the Viper V10 in the future myself.
Wow , That is going to be one cool Maverick . And I didn't expect
a Viper V10 . I thought maybe a Ford small block .
Good luck with it . Cool dog too !!!
your videos have my two favorite things cars and moutain biking. keep up the good work
@mstng6144 I'll post more videos when I save up a few more dollars to work on the thing!!! Thanks!
you are one smart s o b. that car is going to be bad ass. GRABBER BLUE! and black wheels. awesome.
Twin turbo Maverick...Awesome!
You seem like a cool guy. Nice project man can't wait to hear it.
Awesome Build Brother!!...I had a 72 Mav with a 302 V8 for my 1st car, they are very cool project cars to build :)
I wish I would have finished this maverick...
SUPER COOL!!!!!!! Please keep posting update vids as you go. I can't wait to hear it!!
@brownd1953 Seriously, Thanks a ton for taking the time to watch and say such nice things!
Best to you too.
Love your project! and your video editing is great wating for the next installment!
thats dope as hell....absolutely amazing project
Love the car man and the stance is just right. I cant wait to see it finished, like to go for a ride when done. Lol

Thanks for checking it out.
awesome work man. very quality work your doing there
I love it chassis looks beautiful engine also can’t wait to see and hear it run
I hate to disappoint you but I never finish the project... sorry.
That is soooooooooo cool!!! Waiting to see how it will drive and look in the final!)
I love watching this build I can't wait for more on it.
Since you chose the V10 I would look at the stock Viper colors and then enhance those colors with some pearls and extra metal flake to make it pop but still look stock at first glance.
I like it. I think a cobalt blue metallic with American Racing torq-thrusts would look great, but that's yourchoice. I'm jealous.
@jirkaprantl724365658 It's just this generic music library that I bought online...sorry it's not name brand!
Its sad that this project is no longer in the works. But who knows... It certainly has inspired many to try something similar on their builds. :)
