    Finn why didn't you mention the option of putting in a 32amp power point. I did this and it seems to work quite well and allows you to use the cable elsewhere. The cable I bought allows selection of different amps and delayed start. Love your videos.

    I get about 150klms overnight from the trickle charge which is plenty for me (Tesla M3 standard range). Being in Adelaide, you would know about Jolt 50kwt chargers and first 7 klwts free. The combination of the two works a treat for me.

    Great video, thanks Finn. With my solar system at home, I am using the Enphase app, which can show Export to Grid. I am aware of hardware CT clamps but is there any EV Charger with a software solution that can detect from Enphase when I am exporting and therefore start EV charging?

    • @frostiimoon
      @frostiimoon 2 месяца назад

      ChargeHQ software will do that with supported solar inverters and chargers. Only issue for your case would be that they aren’t able to support Enphase micro-inverters

    • @FinnPeacock-sq2rb
      @FinnPeacock-sq2rb 2 месяца назад

      The problem with Enphase is they are right tightarses about giving access to their comms (API) for even simple stuff like monitoring. So as already said, apps like ChargeHQ can’t work with them. Your options are a) CT b)wait for Enphase charger c) wait for Enphase to see the light. It’s a shame as the hardware is great. I have Enphase and Powerwall and the comms can all be accessed from the Tesla API.

    I have a dumb idea/question that I hope you can help me with:
    I have 6.6Kw of solar (no room for expansion), a Tesla Powerwall 2, on a TOU tariff and have a MG ZS EV Long Range (with 70+KwH battery) which I currently charge with the slow charger that came with the car. I have access to free/cheap EV charging away from home and was wondering whether it's possible/feasible to charge/top up the Powerwall from the MG's battery via the MG's VTL outlet ?

    • @SolarQuotes

      You could feasibly do this with some clever switching and a Hoem device: www.solarquotes.com.au/blog/hoem-review/ the trick will be finding a sparky that’s up for it

      We had a Renault Zoe in Australia. It was an awesome city car. Almost perfect. It didn't need DC fast charging.
      It was the ZE40 model & charged at the full 22kw if the charger connected could offer it
      The Q model not brought to Australia offered the 43kw. Don't think we've ever seen an AC charger anywhere in Australia offering more than 22kw.
      Just shy of 100 Zoes were sold in Australia & there are some bargains to be had on the 2nd hand market now.

      It's not wired to avoid the battery so unfortunately I need to manually stop the battery from discharging at night, or run during the day using solar/battery combination.
