Hamburger Soup
1 lb. ground beef
1 large onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
salt & pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
32 oz. beef broth
1-15 oz. can diced tomatoes (+ 1 can of water)
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp. dried parsley
½ tsp. dried basil
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
1 bag frozen mixed vegetables
In a Dutch oven, add the ground beef, dice onions, and garlic cloves. Break up the beef with a wooden spoon and cook over medium high heat until browned. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Drain any excess grease. Add the tomato paste and stir to combine. Add the beef broth, tomatoes, water, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, basil potatoes, and mixed veggies. Stir everything to combine. Cover and bring to a boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes until the potatoes are cooked through. Taste for seasoning and add salt if necessary. ENJOY!

I didn't know you could freeze onions .. I learn something every day 👍👍
You can crack and freeze eggs as well! :)
I love how versatile this hamburger soup can be. Sounds so delicious. Take care.
Agreed! I'm pretty sure you made one on your channel too, right? Such a good recipe :-)
Marvelous Hamburger Soup Girlfriend, many thanks for sharing!!! Hope you and your Family are doing ok.
Yummi can't wait to try your recipe
I made this soup several times served over white rice....my grandson loves it and soooo do i!!!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! We love it too 👍🏻
I fix that when it the winter was cold. And I love it
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
One of my favorite things to make. Extremely easy, versatile, tasty, hearty, and I make it in the slow cooker so its just sitting there ready to eat after work!
Great recipe for stuff we have on hand ! Looks really delicious 😋
Thank you :-) it is very comforting!
You are food goals!!! I was surprised (like you mentioned) that it wasn't a hamburger in a pot, however I LOVE how many vegetables you had in this and how easy it was to adapt to what you had on hand! I too like to use potatoes that look like that ;) I usually have to pop the "sprouts" off the top LOL. Great tip to freeze the items that are about to go bad too! Thanks for all of your kind words at the beginning! :) I'm so glad to know you and thanks so much for collaborating with me on this! It was fun and we should definitely do it again in the future!
Big House Tiny Living haha! Thank you so much! I think both of our videos turned out SO well-we make a good team! 😁 I clean my kitchen as I go too. 👍🏻 I forgot to mention about the name “Hamburger” soup in my intro, so I’m glad I threw in that clarification at the end!
Yummy
Beautiful soup right there girl!! 💕 I haven’t had this in forever!!!
Thank you!! It's a good one :-) how's camping??
It's t hat time of year to make this and freeze it up..
Thank yoy
Great recipe 👍👍
I have always wanted to try a hamburger soup and this looks so delicious !! Definitely can't wait to try it. I got really into Mari Kondo last year (like so many people) and followed the process and love minimalistic living. Thanks for sharing and hope you are all staying safe ❤
Thanks Mel! You too! Yes, I'm slowly paring things down--it's a little trickier living with other people, but I've definitely noticed a difference in my anxiety levels with less stuff!
That looks bussin! The only differences I will use is, one quart of store brand V-8 juice for stock, and San Marzano tomatos for rich flavor.
BTW... The zucchicini idea sounds like a winner!
Yum! I need to buy some San Marzano tomatoes…I’ve heard they’re the best
Coming from Erin’s channel! Love your vibe :) my husband grew up on a dish like this and he’s always so happy when we make it. You had great ideas for substitutions.
Thanks for the reminder! Going to make it soon!
Hi! Thanks for visiting! I think I remember you from doing an instagram takeover with Erin in the past...is that right?
Easy-peasy! That's my kind of recipe.
Looks nice!!! 👍👍👍
I make this using Lipton Onion soup mix, the dry stuff, in place of the beef broth. Just add water as directed for soup on the package.
Oh that’s a great substitution-thanks for sharing!
Me too 👍👍
I loved this simple recipe! I have been down with the flu for 5 days not eating much and sleeping constantly. I live on soup but my hubby doesn't like so now that I'm wide awake at 11pm I'm going to make a small batch of this and watch movies till 4 in the morning! I am wide awake and starving for hamburger soup. Thanks for making it so easy!
I hope you are feeling better soon! Thanks so much for watching and trying this out--maybe it has some healing properties??
Looks delicious..thank u
Thanks for watching, LaTanya!
Thanks Anne
5:00 that isn't grease, that's mainly flavor. boil off the remaining water THEN use your baster or a wad of paper towels to sop up the couple of tablespoons of fat left over.
Leave the fat in.
New Subscriber 🎉🎉🎉
Making tonight. Thanks!
Perfect! It snowed overnight where I live...this would be the perfect cozy dinner! Hope you love it 😊
Link not working for Erin’s channel??? Making this today 😋
This video was from a few years ago…I think she has since stopped her channel. But enjoy your soup!
@@AnnesFamilyRecipe thanks, the soup…was yummy!!!
If you add a few tablespoons of flour to your hamburger before you add everything else in you can make a true that will thicken you broth.
Great idea! One of my favorite soups as a kid was Campbell's Chunky Sirloin Burger haha--kind of a stew, soup hybrid!
I can’t get this video to play. It keeps cutting out right at the intro and I get a message saying something went wrong tap to retry. I tap and try again but still won’t work. I really wanted to see that recipe because it totally new to me.
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe restarting your phone will help? That has happened to me before with other videos. I also heard that RUclips was having some problems yesterday...
The recipe is always in the description box if you want to try it! :-)
I’m having the same problem today. 😢
Restarting my phone fixed it. 💖
My version is insanely NOT simple!
Vegetables used for 6 quarts of soup
Carrots
Potatoes
Corn
Green beans
Green peas
Baby Lima beans
Okra
Celery
Onions
Jalapeños
Bell peppers
1 yellow squash diced
1 zucchini squash diced
Spices/seasonings used
Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp
Himalayan pink salt 1 tbsp
Black pepper 2 tsp
Garlic 2 tbsp
Garlic powder 2 tsp
Onion powder 2 tsp
Chili powder 1 tbsp
Cayenne pepper 2 tsp
Adobe spice 2 tsp
Cumin 1 tbsp
Coriander 1 tbsp
Italian seasoning 1 tbsp
Smoked paprika 1 tbsp
28 oz. Crushed tomatoes
1 can fire roasted Rotel
32 oz. Kitchen basics unsalted beef stock
1-2 pounds of ground chuck browned in the onions sautéed in 2 tbsp olive oil
Combine in crock pot or Instant Pot or stove top soup pot and cook until desired level of doneness
Kroger sells frozen soup vegetables containing everything but the bell peppers, jalapeños, and squash, but the pieces are too small for an Instant Pot, so I use fresh and cut them up in larger chunks if using the Instant Pot.
Thanks for sharing!
This is close to how I make mine. I add potatoes, corn, frozen mixed veggies, bell pepper, onions, celery, and canned diced tomatoes and Rotel tomatoes, beef broth. For seasoning, I add season salt, black pepper, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, basil, and thyme. Then worcetershire sauce. I love this soup. It taste even better the next day.
1:40 minuets of BLAW-BLAW-BLAW
I always have the recipe in my description box if you want to skip the video!
if you use powedered garlic your a failure, Its like using autotune to make music sound good, It just dosent work :D
Haha well this was about keeping it simple and easy. If you already have granulated garlic in your pantry, I'd say that's easier than buying it, chopping it, scrubbing the smell off your hands and then using it. But yes, fresh garlic is superior.
IMO. Any garlic is better than no garlic! lol
@@christophermichaelfuller5448 powdered garlic taste nothing like garlic, Its a lazy person substitude, Its the same as saying instant coffee is is the same as fresh grounded coffee made on a machine, it just dosent work only for lazy people!!
You all talk to. much
Haha, sorry! If you ever want to make one of my recipes, but don't want to hear me talk about it, just go down to the description box, and I always have it typed up for you.
