    Good to hear opinions from people who are not actively trying to maintain their parasocial relationship with steven.
    In my opinion Alts are are a major overlooked problem in Ashes and most social pvp mmos, the only benefit they bring is being able to play different archetypes. But they bring a huge list of drawbacks, it breaks the economy with people being able to do every professions, if the economy is broken corruption becomes irrelevant cos you don't care about losing gear, it compromise gathering and organic PvP with people being able to log accross the map and scout hot spots risk free, you don't have to hold your name reputation, and it ruins the social aspect of making groups if anyone can log on their alt healer or tank + it makes it so easy to run pure meta comps.
    Personally i think it should be 1 character / server, most people would not agree but I think it's because they take alts for granted and don't think about all the consequences, I'm curious what other people think on that topic.

      it is amazing what steven has done for the MMO community this far for sure but ill always be critical thinking and keep a eye on things like this, as nothing is perfect and we all just want the best for the game, it truly is my last hope for playing MMOs long-term and properly.
      yeah i would also prefer it to be one character with some way to reset into another archetype that was a grind to level up not just a straight switch rather than multiple alts, i feel its over all better for a game like this but then again maybe Steven will set it up so it does work nicely only time and testing will tell, so not long now.

    Great video. It was good to see everyone's true opinions on these subjects as they are important ones. I am of the opinion that Devs should not play on official servers after seeing how wrong it can go on Ark and how favouritism can really ruin a game with something as simple as answering tickets.

    • @Azrial

      cheers, yeah its nice to see another perspective and different talk on ashes' and seeing how people feel about the game as well as how ideas differ and outlooks.
      it is also good for intrepid to hear this side of the community more being that it is the community that will keep the game going and will be playing the game.

    Solid video! I feel like it's inevitable that the devs will play the game, so hopefully they will have enough respect for the game to not leak inside info or play favourites. The things that are happening NA side are pretty concerning and hopefully they won't do similar stuff during or after A2.

    • @Azrial
      @Azrial  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks mate, yeah i agree we just need to keep a eye on things like this going forward and hopefully everything turns out fine but its a issue that's been in multiple games that not many people even what to talk about let alone make videos on.
      I still am extremely positive about ashes and cant wait for A2 its gonna be a long road but a good one.

    great content again Az. personally i believe Na will suffer quit badly with corruption and favouritism i believe the EU may avoid it on the scale that Na will suffer but i do believe that any dev mod playing a game will always help their mates guilds to some degree. as for devs playing the game for me its inevitable it will happen unfortunately when they leave the office and go home they will instantly be creating alt accounts and playing the game. Do i agree with it no i don't and probably more so than any other game ive played as i believe AOC is so in depth and the knowledge they will have compared to anyone else and how the systems of the game can effect other parts of it will have a huge effect and give those they play along side such a massive advantage.

    • @Azrial
      @Azrial  3 месяца назад

      Thanks mate glad you are enjoying the videos, yeah i do feel like NA will be fairly rough and have a lot more drama that end and issues we spoke about in the video than the EU side for sure, yeah i also agree no matter what we do the devs will play the game i just hope everyone is fair and they don't repeat what multiple other devs have done in previous MMOs before as it would really fuck us over and be quite bad for a PR perspective for sure.

  • @malismo

    Good video, important topic. I do think it is ok for regular devs to play on official servers as long as they aren't GMs and have no way to get those powers at which point they aren't much different in my opinion than very well informed regular hardcore players. But yeah sure, getting those checks and balances in place, and transparant at that, is required, without them I'd also give a hard no. Realistically favouritism will occur to some extent. The question is to what extent and how does Intrepid prevent it as much as possible?

    • @Azrial
      @Azrial  3 месяца назад

      Cheers mate, yeah i agree it all does come down to how intrepid handle any of this stuff for sure going forward and if any issues arise during A2, i am still super positive about Ashes and intrepid but you always have to sway on the side of caution and especially if there is any markers like this flagging.
      we are really not far out at all now so we will be in the game in no time and honest it could not come quick enough.

  • @AIE-Bhock

    Good video and content. I have no issue with DEVs playing the game on their leisure time, even with their internal knowledge about the game and its mechanics. Still they should not participate in any major guild or event, except as a basic rank and file with no skin in all this. They surely love this game (and I hope we do too), but they can break it by loving it.
    Sadly I have experienced very painful issues in competitive PvP persistent games (like EvE) when some guilds getting previews on future patch content... this caused a lot of hatred from players affected as it screwed up many wars or made/destroyed riches or empires (and yes, market and industry are part of PvP, the blood of war).
    As long as Intrepid team knows to compartmentalize information and the team members are aware that of divulging any information (let's call it professionalism) can cause the death of the game, we will have a good time, by avoiding rookie mistakes.
    One last reminder: this kind of games lives and dies by its community (and a twisted definition of "fairness"), so don't break our faith and it will be a success in itself (on top of showing new tools for future other MMOs, like with the dynamic sharding and server meshing... loved that DEV update).
    Thanks for the video and the view from the players and guild leaders.
    p.s.: I fully support DEV having relations with well known guilds, for Alpha (and Beta to lesser extent), to be able to test specific aspects of the game content, technologies or functionalities, or spawning distinct servers shards for those tests. In-Depth testing often requires such relations and numbers, to ensure isolated quality data and execution, and an open request for volunteers will not always be enough for it. Sometimes, quality is better than quantity

    Always talking about Enveus. When are we going to hear from the Enveus guys?

    • @Azrial
      @Azrial  3 месяца назад +2

      I mean they have there own content creators making content on them, there guild and there community, there own discords and are currently the main guys testing in NDA with Steven and the devs, and are on most of the test stream show cases for a fair amount of time now which you can openly see, so its not like Enveus are not heard from they are actually getting another interview with Steven as well pretty soon.
      Also i have never once spoken on any of my videos about enveus or many other guilds in person you wont find it any where.
      So i am trying to focus on the guys within the community that are less heard and more the EU side as to be fair the EU side is much more quiet and has a lot less connections to Steven or coms with intrepid if i am honest, This is just the start of these types of videos/series on my channel and i don't rule out anyone.

That was kinda dumb coment, no offence, maybe put down the violin and learn that this isnt a pve game, it's a pvp one.
