i just made it and it’s really good! a few tips for anyone that wants to try it:
    - make sure you make them pretty small because when they boil they expand a lot!
    - when you put the boba in the sugar syrup at the end, make sure you don’t leave it in the pan too long, i did and it ended up tasting burnt:(
    - don’t boil it on too high of a temp and don’t boil/soak it for too long, mine ended up getting soggy and soft:(
but other than that it ended up great and this is a really nice recipe!

Hi there! Currently I am in the second phase, here are some tips:
    1. If in phase 1, the mixture thickens without adding water, you can put the flour in already!
    2. Make the balls as small as possible! During cooking, they will enlarge!
I will edit this post later with my thoughts on the final result! ;)

Dione Silva Hi! I completely forgot about this comment, my apologies. 🙈
The chocolate “tapioca” was a little harder to make in the pan, the whole pan was in flour, so figure out the tip yourself.
In the end, the balls (atleast for me) had this.. flour-ey texture and a little bit of a flour taste aswell.

    I made these just then...
    very good recipe.
You must cook them for a while, as I undercooked mine but they still taste good.
Also to the maker of this video, I suggest you edit your description because it says 3 and 1/4 cups of sugar instead of 3 and 1/4 tablespoons of sugar.
It is super tasty, I'm still drinking it! For the milk tea, I had just black tea with almond milk & I added some brown sugar and some vanilla extract to it for taste.
It is very good but if you are looking for it to taste like normal pearls, look for a different recipe.

      @berdosianne  4 года назад +10

Ok so i was so excited to make this bc I've always wanted to try boba. So me and my freind were about half way through then we messed up and had to start over. So then we spent HOURS, I MEAN HOURS rolling those STUPID little balls and then i started to boil them and about a minute in i go to check on them and almost all of them were disolved. And so after that i decided to just make the milk tea and drink that by itself so after i made the boba and the milk tea the boba disolved and the milk tea tasted like a watered down christmas candle (wich P.S. tastes awful) wich im not blaming her im just suggesting to use tapioca starch instead.

for the ones who are wondering , I tried with corn flower out of curiosity and it didn’t go well. Eventually no matter how much I mixed the flower with the sugar and water it did NOT thicken , it was kind of like a goopy water, and I stirred it for about 15 minutes on medium heat and it didnt change. So it doesn’t work with flower.

I love this recipe so much, but 1 tip I think Is boil until the boba pearls/tapioca pearls float at the top of the water and then turn heat down a bit and only cook for 15 mins so it doesn’t get to soggy. Then turn off heat, put the lid on and let sit for 5 mins
Please don’t hate this is just my opinion ❤️💫
