Whatever it is, I’ll take it because it looks better than the first 20. Marchy looks more like himself, I liked the way Charlie Mac played too. Sway with a big save in OT

McAvoy continues to take too many unnecessary penalties 🥵. How about the first two games of the West coast trip? 😮

loved your point about Zadorov in the playoffs. Tkachuk didnt want anything to do with Frederic to start this year, how's he and bennett gonna feel around our net with Zadorov looming over and manhandling them?!? He has the grit i wish i saw out of Carlo

Sacco is just what this team needed.

That system that Montgomery imposed on this year's version (ie hold on to pucks longer, etc) was for the first version that he came on to, BUT...that team coached itself, or did Bergy unofficially coach them? And yup, I like Joe Sacco. He played for 13+ years. Yes, that matters to players. They respect that. In fact, it's longer than most players last. Then he gets into coaching and works with great coaches. This MA native gets it. He just picked up a team failing in everything. Has anyone else notised the different looks? Zacha is getting those goals because teams are looking for Pasta to shoot all the time. Now, he's passing, or is he? Joe has improved a lot of areas all at once. If they continue to improve and this team decides that they are going to elevate and enjoy winning instead, then Joe is that guy. If you can keep Montgomery around for a few, surely Joe deserves the same or more.

The B's are playing harder but, still too many high danger scoring chances for the other teams. Maybe the better efforts is leading to a bit more puck luck.

Here is the most real thing about the Bruins under Joe Sacco, they are simply playing up to what they should have been to start the year
A low Eastern Conference playoff seed that would be lucky to win a playoff round with this low talent forward group that has dreadful special teams units
The Bruins are not one of the worst 8 teams in the Eastern Conference nor are they worse than the bottom 8 teams in the Western Conference
The fact they kept losing and or struggling against those teams to start the year, that was the problem and under Sacco because the effort, execution and attention to details have all been better
So what's happened? The Bruins have started to beat the same crap teams that they couldn't consistently to start the year but that's about it
I'm not sure what Joe is talking about but if you look at the 5x5 scoring and both the power play and penalty kill units under Joe Sacco, hardly anything has changed in those areas despite going 7-2
Their better execution, effort and attention to details have just allowed Boston to start beating the crap teams they struggled with under Montgomery
But let's hold off reserving those duck boats because what hasn't changed?
The Bruins still aren't scoring much at 5x5, the power play and penalty kill are still in the toilet, and no team with Brazeau and Geekie in their Top 6 every night is winning many and if playoff series
What's true about the Bruins during their 7-2 win/loss record under Joe Sacco as coach?
Again, the effort and execution have 100% been better and they've also gotten more out of a few guys that were having dreadful starts to the year like Frederic, Coyle, Marchand and Geekie
What'a also true about the Bruins during this 7-2 run?
The Bruins are still a team with middling scoring talent that will continue to have to rely far too heavily on role players having far too much impact on their playoff fate
Look at who the Bruins have played in these last 9 games. One team in the current playoff structure, Vancouver, who they lost 2-0 to and then a collection of some of the NHL's worst teams
    Boston Bruins:
5x5 Scoring / Power Play / Penalty Killing Stats:
-The Bruins are 25th in 5x5 scoring despite an extremely soft schedule to start the year
-The Bruins are 27th in total power play goals scored
-The Bruins are also 27th in total power plays goals conceded
-The Bruins are tied for 31st (out of 32 teams) in short handed goals against
The Bruins still aren't scoring at 5x5 nearly enough, both the power play and penalty kill are still in the dumpster and the schedule has been beyond vanilla soft
Just look at what they've accomplished when you look under the covers of the last 9 games where they have gone 7-2.
I'd say there are still far more concerning signs about this Bruins team being anything more than one and done playoff team than there is any notion that they are anything more than that
What's going to happen when the schedule begins to get tough?
We're about to find out but I'm guessing once they start playing NHL playoff level teams again, scoring 1 or 2, 5x5 goals and getting hammered on the PK and PP won't lead to many wins like they did against tire fires like Detroit, Montreal, Philadelphia and others.
Last 9. they went 7-2 but here are the details. You'll notice 8 of the 9 teams they've played are out of the playoff picture, the 5x5 scoring has still been bad and both the PP and PK have also still floundered, they've just been "less bad" but "not good" in those areas
-Win 1-0 vs a crap Utah team. Scored one lousy 5x5 goal. No power play goals
-Win 2-1 vs a crap Detroit team. Scored one lousy 5x5 goal
-Loss 2-0 to the only team in their last 9 since Sacco took over that's in the current playoff structure, Vancouver. Shutout. Zero PP goals. Gave up two goals on the PK
-6-3 shootout Win against one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL, the NY Islanders. Scored 5, 5x5 goals versus this dumpster fire but also gave up 3, 5x5 goals to this same dumpster fire. No power play goals scored
-2-1 terrible Loss to probably the NHL's worst team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Zero power play goals. Gave up two 5x5 goals while only scoring one to again, a crap PIT team
-6-3 win against another dumpster fire, Montreal where they scored 4, 5x5 goals but also gave up 3, 5x5 goals to this same crap MTL team. Only scored 1 PP goal
-3-2 win where they only scored 1, 5x5 goal against a crap DET team while giving up 2, 5x5 goals to this same crap DET team
-4-2 win vs a dreadful CHI team. Scored 4, 5x5 goals and only gave up 2, 5x5 goals but it's Chicago
-3-4 OT win versus a terrible PHI team where they scored 2, 5x5 goals but gave up 2, 5x5 goals to a crap PHI team.Scored a PP goal and gave up a PP goal
Just facts and stats Bruins homers. 7-2 in their last 9 is great.
However, this Bruins team as constructed will still get hammered in the postseason because they still can't score much at 5x5 and their special teams units are both still bottom 5 in the NHL to this day
No NHL team with those flaws (lousy 5x5 scoring and bad special teams) is going to win much in the playoffs, not the Bruins, not any team
    It is what it is

Montgomery didn’t know how to adjust his style to the style of team he had.He was incapable of improvising and adjusting on the fly. Very stubborn guy who couldn’t get past the first round with a historically loaded juggernaut of a team .

I'm not defending the information you're saying about Montgomery but the too many men on the ice is just as much as on the players as on the coach.

not if it only seems to happen with one coach
