nice touch, great to see a drummer messing around and not just trying to cover it, and some nice phrasing in there man, most enjoyable. 2:11 and 3:07 bell groove 3:21 fill was sweet too!
@@billyrhythm true, I prefer to see the individual’s personality in the song, Jeff said himself he never played it the same every time. I use it as a time keeper myself, not always interested in copying the original.
i love to cover the drums parts the same as original to study and get the real feel and pocket, if you want to play whatever you want just play original music.
Great bell tone rythim syncs on the ride cymbals. Like the splashes. Deep drive-beat on the cowbell in the background would have been nice. Would have been interesting to see/hear your conga rendition. Also, this song calls for Guiro, and a vibra-slap on the break along with the snare quarter beat. You did attempt it, in the last break, but it came off as too busy. 1 to 10, I give you a 8 for enginuity, but subtract 1 point for obscene bus-y-ness with the fills. Remember; time keeper, not score keeper. Score keeper is the Bass.
I think this is a swell cover! because you have retained the original drum track and played over it..so it looks like you are dueting with Porcaro himself! great job!
@helinoy i think the drum tracks still exist, but it covered well with the live drum performance you can hear some recorded drum tracks in the very begining of the video ( before the diddle part )
As someone said definitely the best cover of this Porcaro piece by far. You really got this piece nailed Jeff would now doubt give you a nod! I am a beginner drummer could you break down that Hi hat pattern? Is it triplets or what?
Excellent Drumming man as a fellow Jeff Porcaro fan theres a few spots I'd encourage to try adding ghost notes right after the accents to see if you like adding that flavor to it I've been jamming it the last few days myself experimenting with it. basically i leave it straight mostly on the first half of the song then after the stop with fills i then start adding ghost notes and taking them out at random as a reaction to the music so it changes day to day and that goes for most things I mess around with. Keep up the jams
awesome! not even a (one) miss??? can´t be sure100%. but still absolutely great job! i can´t play song which is already familiar, every time same way over and over, so i couldn´t never do that! i always change notes or rhythm, of course if it fits in song. monotonic repeating makes me grazy, and all joy for playing disappear! (something wrong whit my brains;D maybe? )but thank god i´m guitarist! that´s why i respect guys and girls who can do that! but every band are sure gratefull for a drummer like that! (sorry my english)

I too prefer covers that are not “note for note.” We know how Jeff played it; how would WE play it.

Outstanding. Such finesse.
The hi hat work is fucking fantastic. Masterful shit. When someone makes it look this easy, is when they have truly mastered the one handed 16th

Awesome! Enjoyed that a lot. Just one "over the top" fill for me. But what do I know, I'm just a guitarist ;)
It is my life fill-in when it is guitar solo.

That's not a cover... it's your version.
Trop de roulement y'a pas besoin de rajouter quoi que ce soit , Tu joue pas de la grosse caisse
Jeff Porcaro doit de retourner dans sa tombe !!!!!
