Not all barotrauma is obvious or visible. Just because they swim away doesn’t mean its going to survive. If you’re fishing that deep I do think there is any point to catch and release. Get your limit then move on or switch to a different species.
I agree with that. The point I was trying to make was catch you limit, whether you keep them is up to you, but then move on. End result is the same either way, just whether or not a human eats the fish or a pelican at that point.
I do fish the hyper rattles sometimes, but it’s also a little heavier on the arm, so if I can avoid it, I do. I’ve tried to shiver Meadows, but haven’t had a whole lot of luck compared to jigging raps personally.
@@BloemendaalFishing I have found that some days the fish have a preference for which glide bait they prefer 🤷♂️🤷♂️ keep me in your prayers please. I’m having triple bypass surgery next Thursday.
Great video, love hearing someone talk about the ethics of fishing deep! Protect your fishery.
Thanks for that! Much appreciated!

Enjoy your content tremendously. Thanks again for what you do.
No, thank you!
I fish Lake Roosevelt. Typically, we catch walleyes in 80 -160 feet of water.
Yikes. Salmon fisherman catch them in that depth here too, but it’s certainly not necessary thankfully!
Love love love the jig rap bite!!!!! Just one more cast Dad, hahahahahahaa
You watched all the way to the end! 😊
@@BloemendaalFishing well of course
Love it!!!!
Thanks!
First comment! Ha, ha, ha! My arm aches after watching this one. I can feel the burn of that 8-pound fish on your boat the other day!
Good thing that moment is going to find a way into a video here, shortly!
Do you ever fish different glide baits like shivers or hyper rattles??
