Tactical bassin has taught me so much as a beginner angler. This is my first real, game fish season. Crushing it to, thanks to tim little and the boys!! 🎉
I just wanted to thank you and Matt for what you do! I know there are hundreds of pros that do videos, but following you guys has never led me wrong. I’m a 60 year old man with an aluminum boat and no electronics I just use what you guys tell me where you tell me to. I keep a log with date water temp, conditions and number caught. So far this year I’ve caught 132 SM, LM and spots just doing what you guys tell me. Id never caught a fish on a swim bait and this year I’ve caught 46! I’ve never caught a 4 pounder but I caught a 3.14 on a swimbait. I appreciate you guys and I never miss an episode, so keep on doing it!
Dude I used to never catch fish but I just loved to be on the water and throw baits around, but now I’m actually catch fish and I caught my pb 6pound bass because of what I’ve learned from just watching a few videos. I’m only 14 and all I think about is how I can learn to catch more fish and when the next time I can go fish is. Thank you so much man, please keep making these videos, and I love you for all the help I got from you
Most people don't like it but I love fall fishing. It's my type of fishing, fast and furious power fishing. I even like power fishing with smaller baits to match those 1 inch shad
I’ve followed y’all for about 5 years now. Because of your videos (this year) I have been able to stay on top of this fall transition. Thank you Tim and Matt! It’s truly awesome to see everything that I’ve learned from you guys come to play. I understand summer is coming to an end but one thing I’ve been kinda playing with is night fishing for large mouth/spots. Any tips are always appreciated. I’ll always follow! I watch every video! Keep doing what your doing and hope to meet one day! Much love! 🤙
Definitely started up north here in Ontario Canada. Summer patterns flipped overnight basically. One day I was at the local pond fishing the pads catching them, now it’s choke points. They’re just hanging out picking off baitfish when they feel like it.
Green oxygenated grass or plants are key. Last fall bite in late November, the only fish found shallow for me were still relating to whatever grass was left. Even if its not living, it's cover for them to hide in. Toss at the greenery.
The grass doesn’t die from the cold. It dies from lack of light due to the fall solstice losing light. The fish also know we lose light, it’s not just the cold that sets the transition
same with trees, its a common misconception that the weather triggers trees to lose their leaves. i fairly north, and some of the trees are already losing their lush green color, and the grass is mostly dead or dying. its been fairly tough fishing.
Here in WV we’ve had a pretty average summer, mid to high 80’s with a day or two in the low 90’s. I went yesterday morning (9/5) throwing a Trick Shad at first light using it like a wake bait and caught several. I’m always amazed by how small some of the fish are ? A trick shad is around 7” and have caught bass 10”-12” 😂 but they hit it like a tank !!
A month or two ago, the largemouth were crushing topwater lures. Now, it's nearly impossible to get strikes with them. I totally agree about the spoon. I've continued to catch some quality bass throwing the spoon or a 1/4 oz silver/white rooster tail.
My problem right now is not finding the fish- it's getting them to bite. I watched huge bass swim all around my bait yesterday- they acted scared of it. I finally got a couple to fire on a popper, but that was it. I'm not used to this- usually, if I'm around the fish I can catch a few- but these fish have lock jaw. I threw everything I could think of at them- Shaky heads, T rigs, spinner baits, swim baits, glide baits, under spins, wacky rig, - they wouldn't touch anything I threw. I did finally get a couple to hit a popper- but that was all I could get. I wanted to go back this morning and try them again, but it didn't work out. Probably be Friday before I can go again.
The N Texas lake I fish is deep. The water temp is 87 so basically peak level. After 6 straight hours zero bass bites on various plastics last weekend, I pulled out my newly aquired BFS rig out of desperation and immediately started catching bass on a MR Griffon stationed off the the bank in 15 of water casting toward the bank. The fish were small but the fun factor spiked 100%. This seems to echo what Matt is saying here about fish transitioning to more of a bait chasing mode despite the high temps still reaching 100+ almost daily. It might have just been a right place / right time thing, but I have a new confidence for the MR Griffon. Expensive bait but that little dude fired em up when nothing else seemed to work. And if you fish it (or the Karashi), be hyper cautious with the tiny hooks. Those suckers are crazy sharp and will rapidly sink deep into anything they come into contact with like your fingers or clothing.
Thanks for the info caught two the other day on a square bill in shallow water my new pb up here in jersey 3.34 lbs the secound was 2.65lbs. your info does help thanks
Top water fishing was non existent this summer here in Louisville Ky. I may have caught 2 fish on top water. Looking forward to the Fall as the ponds I fish always produce.
In central Florida they can be on fire one hour then they just shut down and you really have to start working slow in heavier eel grass and force them to react to flashy stuff. Spinnerbaits frogs top water. Something u can slow down and aggravate them with
@johnbankston72 I mostly fish Ponds so shallow to mid depth once the water starts to cool off and the Bass start chasing baitfish. I like the willow colorado Tandem Sept-Oct. Once late Oct early Nov hits I like a single blade colorado style. I do well on jerkbaits as well
Up here in NW PA fall transition kicks in hard last week of august. Its got to the point where i dont even fish for bass/pike/musky in september i just fish for catfish
Im in SE PA so it just hit here this week. Im a bank fisherman and i know pretty much after the first week they are just not around at least to where i can access them. Unfortunately cant go fishing for a bit hopefully i can get to them before they completely transition away. I switch over to Carp come October.
Hey guys I’m a big fan of your videos. It’s really nice to have someone break it down for us newbies. I just picked up the Shimano Curado DC 200 HG paired with the 7’2” medium Shimano B Expride. What line setup should I use? Braid to leader? And how long of a leader?
People underestimate the effect shorter days, with less sunlight have on many different things in nature including water temps, fish, trees, animals....may be 90 degrees, but that less sunlight a day cools things down quite a bit.....if u see this Tim, what about gravel pits with grass? Last couple weeks, it's been the dead sea....no hard cover anywhere....im almost convinced the bass moved out of state, due to inflation
I think if theyd turn HAARP off it wouldnt be so darn hot. Enough of that though, this isnt the place for that. Im ready for cool weather jerkbait fishin! Can't wait for it to click on. Heading to Arkansas tomorrow to figure Bull Shoals out for the next month and a half. Hopin those walleye and big bass will be smackin jerkbaits...thats my fav.! Bought another screen for the front of the boat so my aging eyes dont have to strain. 👀 😂 They should start pushing bait to pockets before too long, and the secondary points should turn on pretty well, I hope...lol.
Here in San Diego the night temps have dropped, the grass is browning out, the green slime is increasing, and the bait population are at super high quantities. Didn't even see any catchable sized bass yesterday; 0 bites. I threw a plethora of baits on 4 combos with different lines size and types. GOT TO MOVE OUT OF CALI
I am fishing Lake Champlain, so there's all kinds of shallow grass areas and also deep rocky areas. Lately I've been catching them in grass and pads on a senko and frogs. What kind of lake really is this? Do I focus on a specific bay?
What would be your plan if you are a Coosa River fisherman. We have a lot of different structure like shallow bank grass, lay-downs, roadbeds, standing timber, etc. What would be your game plan for trying to break down a practice on one of these lakes during the transition?
Can you tell me what type of fishery Lake Malone is in Western Kentucky. It is a small lake that I fish most of my tournaments in and struggle. I can catch a few, but typically smaller fish. The lake is only about 750 acres or so. I'd love to hear some input on the lake. Thanks for everything you guys put out!
Tim, September is killin me. I've watched the vids, I've seen the info, but I am telling you I can't find them. Maybe I should go hiking. WTH? Secondary points?! I 've checked tertiary, quadriary (and I am not sure that is a word) and I can't find them. Jerk bait, jig, square bill, crank, Tx rig, C-rig, Susie Rig (my own secret) spinnerbait, buzzbait, fast, slow and in between, creatures, craws, swimbait (big and small), fast and slow, fish early, fish late and no, I won't use a drop shot. OK, deep breath...please, I need a fishpsychologist.
I fish watts bar and had a spot that I went to everyday and caught 4-5 in an hour, I just started fishing in April so I was wondering what happened, the grass was dying lol. Don’t know why I didn’t realize it sooner. Struggling to find them though especially just being able to walk the bank
I just moved to Murphy NC and theirs Persimmon lake 10 min away. Do you know what kind of fishery that is? I’m having trouble locating the bass on this lake
What would you expect fish to do if we were catching them on a channel swing in a small arm of a big lake, this was a month ago and our nightly temps have dropped.
I've always wondered what kind of bodies of water I have, obviously they're going to be natural lakes but I live in North Idaho specifically kootenai county, what are the smaller lakes (like Hauser), called?
Looking for balls of fish such as bait fish and bluegills. If you see groups of them bass are most likely lurking and waiting to strike. So casting around and through them can be a better bet for a catch
I live in the catskills of NY, once october hits i cant catch shit from the bank anymore, where do they go deep or shallow to warm in the sun, its already 60° an lower now an 37 to low 40s at night
On my highland reservoir the fall transition always intersects with a rapid 3-5 foot lake drawdown over a few weeks, how does that usually impact the fishing?
I have no problem finding bait fish, however I don't see any bass chasing them? Is it the time of day (early afternoon usually)? Catching nothing but frustration. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I've been ABSOLUTELY STRUGGLING during this transition. I know where the bait balls are I see bass blowing up on them. Nothing better than watching the new tb until you're officially late for work
Shoot! I’m at work !
Facts
Same 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Bro I'm literally watching this before work by 2 hrs just so I'm not late!!!!😂
Tactical bassin has taught me so much as a beginner angler. This is my first real, game fish season. Crushing it to, thanks to tim little and the boys!! 🎉

Good, wholesome fun.
Good luck crushing it, poppers are a good time give that a shot
Most people don't like it but I love fall fishing. It's my type of fishing, fast and furious power fishing. I even like power fishing with smaller baits to match those 1 inch shad
I love it best. Cooler more comfy temps. Bass are biting. Im not dripping sweat chasing a bite anymore

my favorite time of year.. it can be fun... more work to find

We’ve already missed it guys. Pumpkin spice lattes are on the menus
Super helpful Timmy !!!! Thanks 🙏🏼

Tim thanks for all the inspiration man. My son and I are learning a small part of our lake here in North Georgia.
Good one tim
I tend to use the Texas rigged worm in all seasons . I'll throw a jerk or crank for a few minutes , then pick up that Texas rig worm again .
I love fall fishing. I’ve been getting a few on a wakebait lately. One was a big channel cat that murdered my big rat wake that I made from cedar.
Top water fishing was non existent this summer here in Louisville Ky. I may have caught 2 fish on top water. Looking forward to the Fall as the ponds I fish always produce.
September is my PB month 😎🤙🏽 Let’s go baby!
Absolutely awesome job Tim,and I didn’t hear you mention (Pumpkin Spice) as an indicator 😂
Would like to see you guys travel to Jefferson county and break down Douglas
Last week we had some nights hit the 50s! Its back up this week with a heat wave but i know they felt that temp drop and the days are getting SHORTER
Kool vid Tim...
In central Florida they can be on fire one hour then they just shut down and you really have to start working slow in heavier eel grass and force them to react to flashy stuff. Spinnerbaits frogs top water. Something u can slow down and aggravate them with
Nice first!
Looks like a trip to cabelas on the lunch break haha
Awesome video like always. We ever getting to see the South America Video?
Spinnerbaits are my go to in the fall!
…interesting. Shallow or deep?

Here kitty kitty kitty kitty… Time to speed crank that DD
Can’t wait to catch a 10 pounder on my new wake bait🐟 that you guys made 🐟💦😎

It's still too early for that here on Texas. Hot af day and night. Our transition starts in late September, early October.
I want a breakdown on the mobile tensaw Delta. Guess that would fall into a tidal river delta fishery. Good luck.
Deep East Tx…not even thinking about fall transition or overnight lows yet. That’s about 2-3 weeks away still. Hopefully…..,
We already had a week or so of cold nights here on long island but now it's warm at night again.long island weather is rough
I wish what you say applies to my local river. It’s tough out here 😂

What kind of Fishery do you think lake hartwell in Georgia would be? And the best places to start looking for them?
Tim I know you like the whopper plopper you have to try the teckel chopkicker I prefer that over the plopper

Need you to come over to Wilson or wheeler lake and show me some stuff😂
Guys. Can we get your perspective on Thermocline and how you work through it and to use it to our favor? Ponds in Florida in particular for me. Thanks

When will you make your tactical crank deeper like 25 feet that would be awesome
I know they are considered the TVA system but are Chickamauga and Guntersville also considered reservoirs and if so what type. Thanks.
Lake St. Clair is essentialy a big bowl. Not ledges, creeks, etc. What might I look for on that lake?

I’m on the monongahela river in PA, what would you suggest for up here
Do you guys ever fish the Santee Cooper lakes?
I have a lake near me in south Jersey that is 95% pads. Do you think they’ll move away from the pads or still use them as cover?
I anticipate all the bass will gravitate to that 5% area that is not pads. They should be very easy to find. 😂
@@defx I hope so. It’ll be easy fishing lol.
Here in Ohio, river smallies is the name of my game. Looking for thos current breaks, and fast moving water in general. Any other tips?
I just moved to Murphy NC and theirs Persimmon lake 10 min away. Do you know what kind of fishery that is? I’m having trouble locating the bass on this lake
What would you expect fish to do if we were catching them on a channel swing in a small arm of a big lake, this was a month ago and our nightly temps have dropped.
what do yall have for bank beaters as far as tips and baits go?
One thing nobody has addressed…power plant lakes! Air temp here is on the 60s over night with 88 degree water temps holdin strong
Not sure on the Lakw I fish of what style body of water it falls into. Lake Reidsville, NC
It’s city lake water source. So damn(ish).
Hey man can tell me what type of fishery “Sheldon reservoir lake” in Houston tx
I've always wondered what kind of bodies of water I have, obviously they're going to be natural lakes but I live in North Idaho specifically kootenai county, what are the smaller lakes (like Hauser), called?
@ 9:07 bluegill Poppin and bait Poppin. What are those two things please? Thanks
Looking for balls of fish such as bait fish and bluegills. If you see groups of them bass are most likely lurking and waiting to strike. So casting around and through them can be a better bet for a catch
The California delta, please
I live in the catskills of NY, once october hits i cant catch shit from the bank anymore, where do they go deep or shallow to warm in the sun, its already 60° an lower now an 37 to low 40s at night
On my highland reservoir the fall transition always intersects with a rapid 3-5 foot lake drawdown over a few weeks, how does that usually impact the fishing?
What about the Peabody lakes
I have no problem finding bait fish, however I don't see any bass chasing them? Is it the time of day (early afternoon usually)? Catching nothing but frustration. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
What size hook do you use for the fluke style baits?
I accidently bought an sb150. Should I try it or return it? It's awfully large. And where's the pumpkin spice reference?? Haha
At what size do you consider a Lake to be a pound or a pound to be a Lake?
Do and how do fish in small bodies of water?
We are in socal lake hemet ca help us
Are you guys California based?!
You Grass Guys… smoke ‘em if you got ‘em
Never seen a bait ball in my life. Just on BBC.
So many fry and minnow in lake chickamauga. I can't get fish to bite anything
I hate the fall transition. Every year they shift and I struggle catching em.
What about us northern guys!?
Not on blue back herring lakes
I've been ABSOLUTELY STRUGGLING during this transition. I know where the bait balls are I see bass blowing up on them. I'll throw chatterbates, spinnerbaits, square bill and lipless crank baits, jerk baits, top water poppers in bait fish profile. I have profiles that will match size of bait fish in size and color, and from one extreme to the other. I CANNOT GET MY BEST TO BITE. I'll throw my lures in, around, and through. Schools of big fish that are getting blown up and still no success. It's rather frustrating. Please help me out here.
Yah i cant catch shit anymore in minnesota. I bank fish and this transition makes it seem like nothing is available from the bank anymore
I’m lucky 667
What about blue back herring lakes, you don't ever look at those lakes
I’d like to start out with I almost never leave a negative comment pretty much a walk away and say nothing but I am so fed up with your videos your Contant, and by all means your favorite every day US put it on a video and tell about your favorite Luer do you realize it changes every effing day are you paid attention to your production? Sir it's still summer.
