I suspect not. Also, there is nothing to suggest here that his pickup, called acceleration, and start are both good. Such athletes are rare. I don’t see a sub 10 anytime soon since for that to happen one has to run around 10 consistently and rise above the field since it seems like he wasn’t that ahead of everyone. Its not a coach issue, its developmental issue.

I have always observed that one day the world will see the Punjab athletes as the some of the top in the world. The are naturally explosive, naturally strong, and full of faith - I call them hybrid humans. Example are the Punjabi Shot-putters. Another example are the Jatt people. It makes sense that now fast sprinters are emerging. If was billionaire I would sponsor right now a complete national program with a 20 year vision to develop super athletes.

None of the 100m athletes can. Bring medals internationally as of now but AFI should really really consider 4*100 because we have elite 4 top runners who all are capable of running national record.

Golden time for India to capitalize on it. All are on the upward trajectory as of now and very high chances of reaching olympic finals. Just like Japan. They have same level athelets and performing good in relays.

A call to all Punjabi NRIs to step up and support athletes from Punjab.
Right support given at the right time to the right athletes. Such a system needs to be at place, either through schools or colleges or Khelo India games. Unless you do that, don't compare medals with anyone.
1. Try crowdsourcing option by making a video of your achievements and explaining requirements for 2 years.
2. AFI should try to make National Federation cup and Interstate more popular and release official ranking list through one event for a year which can be used by Athletes to approach for sponsorship till the next year. A clear rank for an athlete will indicate where he stands .Otherwise different people will claim they are the fastest .
3. AFI should conduct events with participation from many countries which are of similar level as India and who want international exposure. Training camps should be held where athletes of other countries can participate (Juniors too). They could be charged decently such that both AFI and the athletes face a win-win situation. This will also give exposure to a more competitive athletes from other countries. For eg. 400m Srilanka has a very good team. India is world number 5. Conducting training camps where top runners of both countries participate with one camp in India in a month with Indian National coaches and another camp in Srilanka with Srilankan National coaches could be done.
4. AFI could tie up with international hotel chains and with airlines and give ranked athletes the option of a huge discount in international travel and food and stay in those hotel. In return the airlines and hotel chains should be allowed to advertise
5. An IPL type relay event with 3 Indians and one person from another country could be started on a Franchise model.

There is lot of potential in Punjab but it has lost direction in general. Governance there is hopeless. Sikhi a beautiful religion is turned into beadbi, basanti debates. Half of our hockey team is from Punjab but support came from Odisha. Good results followed. Now Punjab CM is crying that he is not allowed to go to Paris. Hockey players should meet Naveen Patnaik first when back. Athletes like Gurvindervir should get state support. If Punjab govt cant do anything then come to haryana. Governance here is poor 😂😂😂 but not hopeless like Punjab
Sikhs are proud of their heritage and are always willing to contribute for it but their organizations are corrupt. If a non sikh says so then he gets abused. So called khalsa aid etc go to places where they can get good coverage but do not address any real issue. They will carry food where issue is not food shortage. Just cameras should be present and they will stand there with food and water. Punjab needs sports facilities and support, many Asian level athletes will emerge easily. Control on drugs. Creating an env for high end jobs. For that Punjab should feel welcoming for migration. Anyways I doubt anything will happen there. Our leaders are hopeless.
