She played BIg Maude Tyler in "Convicts-at-Large" in the 3rd Season, when her a two other women held Barney and Floyd hostage at Mr. O'Malley's cabin near the lake.
@@tabomst3k466 Yes she was, and a couple of years after, Reta Shaw was in, The Ghost & Mrs. Muir. She was even Hagatha, one of Samantha's pop-in aunts on Bewitched...the only one I can freely recall. Didn't really follow her too closely, but she was a recognizable face in everything she was part of. Always a dominant role.
These actors and actresses writers directors were geaniouses. They cared about their craft. 100 years from now, people will still laugh and like the show.😊
I have a notebook filled with many episodes written out word from word. I did it all myself, when the show comes on I would write down what a person is saying or going to say. I've watched this show so much that I know most of the time what is going to be said.
@@katttaylor5976 Yeah, men could support their entire families with one job back then, but most of the women didn't work (except Helen) and none were married.

This is funny. Love Barney
One of the great shows of all time!
So many years later and this scene still gets me everytime.
They don't make shows like this anymore!
Reta Shaw, a brilliant character actress from the Golden Age of Television.
She played BIg Maude Tyler in "Convicts-at-Large" in the 3rd Season, when her a two other women held Barney and Floyd hostage at Mr. O'Malley's cabin near the lake.
@@ILoveOldTWC I think you meant Floyd and Al.
Reta Shaw portrayed Mrs Halcyon Maxwell the leader of the spiritualist group in the don knotts movie the ghost and Mr Chicken (1966).
@@ILoveOldTWC And Ralph Henderson.
Barney's voice teacher also appeared in another episode where she was an escaped convict. Pretty funny lady!
If I'm not mistaking she was in the Ghost and Mr. Chicken also.

Wonderful teacher and student.
The county insecticide convention! Love it! :)
The big time 😂😂
I love the way barney sings..😊luv u don knots r.i.p.
It's hard to believe this same actress, Reta Shaw, also played the role of Big Maude Tyler, the escaped convict in the Convicts At Large episode!
Jane Snow one of my favorite episodes. Barney dancing.
Very good point. Talk about VERSATILITY!
Or Ralph Henderson
Thanks. I did not realize that.
Gosh I loved Reta Shaw, miss her and so many of the best stars now gone..A whole diff and beautiful time and era gone by...
Comical genius.
Barney fife was the best!
This show had so many great characters.
Andy Griffith and Senfield, the two funniest show that ever has been or ever will be.
My vote goes to The Mary Tyler Moore show, especially the later seasons and any episode with Betty White.
Seinfeld was overrated
Yes! we sure don't see Those reruns anywhere I know of. A show about nothing.@@grl9917

I know several episodes word for word
Gomer bumps the box
"pop"
"poppop! pop pop" [lightbulbs]
"stop/aghkh! they've got a machine gun!!"
classic classic memories
This is so funny. What you get with a lousy voice teacher and a gullible pupil. Brilliantly done.
I wasn't a singer, but I did play the flute in high school, and we did spend time learning breathing exercises like the ones Barney was doing.
@@yooneeque1 Yes, you're correct, but that isn't the point here. If you knew voice, perhaps you'd understand what a great parody this was.
Singers, however, do sing some pretty hilarious words when they warm up. That part of this is true.
Barney is a Wonderful student & A Marvelous Singer
in reality don knotts had a serious ear for music and could harmonize very well with andy & any other singers/musicians who crossed their path.
😊
yes, he really could, especially some of those porch singalongs.
Barney looks intense when singing “Me ThEy, Me ThEy, MeThEy” 🤣
That's just the funnest thing ever
I remember this episode. It was the first time I saw Barney get jealous of Gomer.
Me they, me they, me they!!!
I've often heard Leonard Blotch sing at the county insecticide convention. His rise was very meteoric! Me, they, me, they, me, they....
Blush
I reckon he's still doin' the big time over there in Mt. Pilot. Or maybe he's gone on to bigger things in Kitchen Corners.
😂😂
She also played in Pollyanna and Mary Poppins.
Too funny!!
Patten Maine loves their native daghter.
BArney's voice really is not bad; he is just entirely too intense.
His teacher is also the women in The ghost and mr chicken who yells TORRO TORRO
In another Andy episode she is an escaped prisoner.
Mrs maxwell

I love Barney
Aka Ralph Henderson. ..
Gotta love the IOU - and funnier yet - for us Greeks, 'mee-they(n)' means 'zero'.
Martha from The Ghost and Mrs. Muir!
Great
Barney Fife takes voice/singing lessons from Ralph Henderson. I'm waiting to watch them tango!

I wonder how every single woman in Mayberry seems to all have nice houses with nice furniture, and also nice clothes and makeup and not work.

I used to think she was Ursula from the Little Mermaid...but then I realized the timeline didn't match up. lol
She was Aunt Agatha from Bewitched, and she was a domestic in Mary Poppins.

I believe Ursula was voiced by the great Pat Carroll.
