Then you have to consider all the personal issues that Conte had to endure that second season. He had health issues on top of losing a close friend who was even part of his coaching staff. Without the health issues I think he might have channeled those feelings to focus the players, but then he was ill and eventually kept away from the club and it all fell apart. The situation was fragile (as Ange has also said) and it broke down. Conte isn’t one for an amicable breakup, so that just bitters the whole thing. Plus the football was 🥱

We need that experienced, disciplined, defensively sound, mobile, good on the ball holding midfielder. It’s our most important position & we can’t rely on an 18 year old. However good he is.

You just listed all of our wingers, including a loanee (Werner), a player that only featured a few times for the club (Solomon), and a 16 year old academy player (Moore) but still forgot Johnson, who featured at every game last season bar a few. Something about that guy just makes him very forgettable. I talk to a lot of other Spurs fans and they all forget he plays for the club 😂. Anyways, I think Johnson will have a big big season for the club. Regardless wether he's a starter or a back up.

@SonnyTalksSpurs I think we'll continue to be wide open and be opened up far too often. We looked like we were trying to carry water in a collendar against Bayern at times. If that reckless defending/system doesn't get fixed, I fear we'll be in trouble for the season. There's also the fact so many players lost form last season that worries me. 1 or 2 and you question the players, but Bissouma, Maddison, Bentancur, Kulu, Son (at times) Richarlison, Sarr and probably more all went down the proverbial for long periods. You have to wonder if that's players losing form, or faith.
