I learned about this doll brand recently from a friend. I was told that they were similar to American Girl but with articulation, so I had to check them out. My background for this style of doll is American Girl so that's my frame of reference as I experience this German doll line for the first time. I purchased these dolls from the United States using Amazon Prime. Thanks for watching!
Very cute. It's cool to see these up close and how they are articulated. Outside of 1 or 2 channels, there doesn't seem to be a ton of English speaking reviews on these dolls. I wish the posabilty held better but they seem well made and I like the different sculpts. I've been looking at a lot of European dolls lately, and the Happy Kidz line is one I'm definitely interested in. There's this one named Mariah I'm obsessed with but I think she was a limited release not sold anymore.
Yeah, I think all of the dolls are numbered. So they're only available for so long, and then they're replaced with something new. Some releases are also more special and limited. I will definitely have to keep up with any new releases with this brand. I really find them to be an exceptional doll line. Even just being able to tilt their head and sit them on their own really intrigues me 🥰
They are gorgeous faces and I do like the full vinyl bodies. I would love to put them in crop tops with spaghetti straps for summer as the cloth bodies look a bit bulky and not so good in those outfits. Also I like the No teeth look. Thanks for sharing. Xx

I have been having so much fun posing these dolls and setting them up in different parts of the house. They have hung out in the living room, one seated and one standing on the coffee table, as I watch tv. They're so adorable!

Yeah, in person, they have so much realism. Their eyes seem to have a shine of realism to them. Finding a variety of facemolds is a bit more tricky though. But their ability to sit on their own and cock their head to the side are some features I am enjoying a lot right now. Do you have American Girl dolls or Gotz in your collection? Don't be hesitant, their hair is made to be washed by children so it will not hurt the doll. Hannah is more like the American Girl dolls with just the 5 points of articulation. Happy Kidz comes with several face molds and they come out with new ones every year. There are so many people who create clothes for these dolls on Etsy. Their little sisters are so cute as well. I do agree that the hair is not as soft but I get them more for their outfits. Take care.
Yeah. I think they looked so cute with how their hair was styled, I was unsure about taking it down. I have still left Sophie with her hair back and the twist tie in front. I washed Emily's hair, and it was a major improvement! I do like that their hair is very thick and rooted. The comparison was just interesting for me, because I have been so accustomed to American Girl for so long. I much prefer the realistic faces and articulation of Gotz dolls. I will have to keep an eye out for new face molds! And I am definitely eying the younger siblings as well! 💞
You can wash their hair with shampoo and conditioner, I wash my Gotz dolls’ hair right away because they all come with squeaky/crispy hair. Gotz doll’s hair is actually way better than AG’s once washed, it feels totally real and absolutely beautiful.
That's great to know! I need to do that. I have been enjoying them as they are, but now, I am curious how soft their hair can get. And then, I can enjoy them to the fullest. Thanks for the tip!
@@Pandorafriends it gets super silky soft. I use Redken All Soft (brown bottle) , twice shampoo, twice conditioner, while conditioner is on, comb through with wire brush and rinse very well after. Their hair is like the healthiest human hair. And, it doesn’t fall out at all, it’s fun to style.
Pleasant Rowland used a Gotz doll as a model for the American Girl dolls when she started Pleasant Company in the 1980s. I used to own one of the 18" Gotz dolls with the body and face mold she used, and the doll looked almost exactly like Samantha. In fact, the very early Pleasant Company dolls and outfits were made in West Germany.

I have a few of these Götz dolls. Their hair is much softer and feels much nicer after a wash with shampoo and conditioner.

Neat dolls. I bought mine two years ago. I was undressing it one day and found a tag that says that they are made in China not Germany. I was disappointed but I still enjoy the doll.

Oh, that's interesting. There was a time that I looked into that doll line. However, my favorites from the line were not available when I was looking. But I didn't know a lot about their articulation. That's awesome!

They do have slimmer bodies than American Girl, and they are about an inch taller... But I do have a new girl coming in the mail from the UK. So, maybe, I will try on some other outfits on her to see how they fit in an upcoming video 👍
