Those who drew him money were safe, everyone else was expendable.
The two rules seem to be what happened to Ultimate Warrior and what happened to Austin. Warrior got away with a lot of stuff but was eventually fired. Austin got paid to humiliate Mcmahon and was the greatest rating draw of all time but even he was replaced when business wasn't put first.

Effectively fans know nothing about wrestling but JR and the other experts know everything about it. Possibly time JR puts that expertise to good use and helps build the constantly dropping AEW ratings. The fans may know nothing as JR says, but they do know what they like and what they want to watch. Instead of being so paranoid you can’t accept criticism without going on the offensive, listen and you can learn even from the people who know nothing. Also Conrad is a fan, not an expert in the business of wrestling

JR, everyone can have an opinion. You have said it yourself in the past. And regarding criticism, any criticism can be valid if it's educated. You don't have to like it, or agree with it. People aren't experts in booking, but they know what they like and don't like. Vince wanted Luger to be the next Hogan. Vince was an expert in booking. It didn't matter. The fan didn't want it. It was Bret's time. That doesn't mean you necessarily give up, but if people are criticizing, ask why. What's not working. Getting hot about it isn't going to win them over, if your goal is to get people over.

@@Hester-l6k AWA sans anything with Hulk Hogan in it. Mid-South, Mid Atlantic and. I wasn't a big fan of Memphis wrestling, but there were good moment in it. The "strong style" that was going on in Japan in the 70's, 80's and 90's. World Class had it's great moments, and west texas wrestling and the who Western States when they were under control of the funks and guerreros

Multiple main events per show is such a grift. Can you imagine on a boxing or mma card selling things like the last event of the night is just one of many and the undercard is just as important as the last on the card, or watching a support act play after the headliners in a concert. No, the main event is the main event, yeah there are events that can steal the show and be the better event, but promoters of any show choose what goes on last and that is the main event.
The WWE wasn't the same anyway when Vince was there the last 20 years.
