They lack of female but there is Tanya for replace Jade. Nitara for replace Skarlet. With Cyrax (female) coming in DLC so they came to genderswap all known secondary (Fujin, Nightwolf etc...) Characters like Kira are not worthy to be mentionned but Dairou did! We want Sareena on the base roster but we got her in Kameo with Khameleon and Ferra lol. Creative team have some broken choices. All have 50-60 years old so no more techno music. So no more 3D, stage Fatalities or Hara Kiri. They fumble content, fumble crossplay, fumble 3rd and 4th free outfit. Fumble armageddon in story mode. Fumble the Deadly Alliances. WTF happen ?
And soon enough Ferra is going to leave Torr.

MK1 story has been the best done by Neather Realms until now, and contrary to any previous ones it has nothing that will piss you off, specially compared to MK11, though there is one thing that i criticize about it, but thats spoiler territory.

While im okay with most of the story taking place in Liu Kang's New Era, i think it was a huge missed chance to not have a portion of it take place in Shang Tsung's Era. Would have loved to see the changes he did to his timeline and see how he dealt with each character. Did he restored the Zateryans and has an army of sexy Reptiles? Does he encourage the Shokans and the Minotaurs to an endless war to prove to him who is more worthy of his blessings? Does he takes Sonya as a bride? As much as i loved the story mode, the lack of story telling about Shang Tsung's side is something i wish would have been touched, but who knows, maybe we will see that in the expansion, if there is going to be one.
Well, most of the story is excellent, only the last few chapters are terrible.
Kuang Lao finally got his spot light mk1 and didn't die
Spotlight? He wins one real fight against an underpowered Raiden then he just stands there for the rest of the story mode.

@@bernardwalsh8444 not real fights. It was a TRAINING exercise and the Lin Kuei were specifically tasked to take a dive. Kung also wins ONE real fight against an underpowered Raiden and the player doesn’t get to use his complete moveset because of the outdated character chapter system being as limiting as ever.

I find it really funny that Liu Kang didn't just give his friends happy, fulfilling lives but specifically gave all his enemies humiliating, inglorious lives.
Lol, I love that you turned on the Descriptive audio to get more info. As a completely blind person who used it just to know what's happening in the story, its great to see it get used beyond that purpose. Also makes memes accessible to me by default which absolutely rocks!
Fun fact, every unique kameo in the story mode is just re-skinned shujinko imitating the character. For example, the Adam kameo in chapter two is just Shujinko using Reiko moves.

One aspect about Kung Lao that wasn't brought up in the video is that in Kung Lao and Raiden's relationship is that Kung Lao plays the older brother role, rather than the younger brother role like with Liu Kang previously. This makes his personality far more realistic and enjoyable IMO, since that's a very common thing for big brothers to do.

Madam Bo should seriously be a Kameo character, like for example spill hot tea on the opponent. I think NRS should also have fun creating goofy stuff. I love to laugh while playing MK trying out goofy shit

The thing that I love the most about Kung Lao in this timeline is that he’s on equal footing with Raiden (apart from Raiden’s whole chosen one thing like Liu Kang in the previous timeline)
Even after Raiden gets his lightning powers, they don’t start treating Kung Lao like second fiddle, he’s still a well respected and competent fighter of his own accord and not just “Raiden’s sidekick” which I feel like is a great improvement. It didn’t exactly make MK11 Kung Lao bad, it just made him much less interesting and far easier to forget and at least in this first chapter he’s able to stand out much more on his own even if he fades into the background for the rest of the story.
