Anyone remember that episode when the Flim Flam bros challenged Applejack to see who could make the most cider? I think she lost because she didn't have her friends and thats what lead to that timeline.

Well with the Nightmare Moon timeline, you overlooked something. Rarity thought Twilight and spike were tourists, meaning Ponies come and visit the castle.
I never really took Rarity's remark about tourists all that seriously. You'd have to be Daring Do levels of awesome (or a main character) just to get past the Timber Wolves and reach the castle. Either the tourists they get are just that competent at wildlife survival or their egos were so big that they simply assumed tourists would want to visit.

+EbonyFire Of Duskclan Lol, I have to admit. That's far more plausible and actually way more interesting. The growth of the Everfree Forest and the threat of being exposed to their dangers could very well have been a part of Nightmare Moon's plans to begin with. It's a good way to isolate and keep the citizens from colluding and forming into any sufficiently large rebellion organization. The "tour" of the castle could be a form of propaganda, like unlike the ones held in certain other real life countries. Heck... maybe some underground rebellion spies have been posing as tourists! O_O"
One thing about Nightmare Moon and the elements. I don't think she can use them. Discord was able to prevent the mane6 from using them by making them turn into complete opposites of their respective elements. Either that or the elements didn't work because Rainbow Dash wasn't there. One of the reasons why Nightmare Moon wanted the time travel spell was to ensure that the Elements of Harmony are never found. I've always interpreted that to mean that she never found them herself or that somepony hid the elements after Celestia's fall, but... I dunno. I'm not entirely sure how to interpret that specific line anymore... ~_^
She didn't mean actual tourists. She was using it as a way to demean them. It was an insult. Tourist is another way of saying someone who isn't with things or is wearing/doing the latest things just to seem like everyone else without understanding the meaning behind it. Posers, pretty much.

My theory on the final timeline:
Since Celestia never took on a new apprentice, her first apprentice never used the magic mirror to travel to an alternate world. And continued to seek more power. Sunset Shimmer (or possibly Trixie) used the Alicorn Amulet. And grew so powerful and unstable, that the world was destroyed.
I also suspect that Sunset might have taken Twilight's place in some of the alternate timelines. Only, not motivated by Empathy, she did things a bit darker.
I didn't like the Nightmare Moon Timeline simply because I felt that it didn't pay enough attention to Luna's personality and growth. In that timeline she locks her sister away in the moon (a spell that we know lasts 2000 years if I'm remembering it correctly), but in our timeline Luna was reformed which tells me that no matter what form she's in the potential for reform should have always been there. If I had to rewrite the episode in that one spot I think I'd change it like this.
NM: (everything previously in the conversation remains the same) My sister has been locked away in the moon for years.
TS: We're from another timeline where I used the Elements of Harmony to defeat you.
NM: (scoff in disbelief) Fools... and how is my sister fairing in this.. 'timeline' of yours? Happy to be rid of me I suppose.
Spike: Actually you guys are closer than ever. You both love and look out for one another.
NM: (surprise) Is... is that so? (Looks up at moon and back to Twilight) You will take me to the source of this powerful magic. Guards, remain here until I return.
(Scene change to overgrown Evergreen Forest and Table. NM looks over shoulder to make sure they aren't followed.)
TS: Please, Princess Lun... ah.. Nightmare Moon. We need to fix this timeline and put everything right again.
NM: Yes, you do.
TS and Spike: What?
NM: For the longest time I was locked away from Celestia and it made me angry, but now that I'm free and she's not I find myself... missing her. I can't undo the spell until the time runs out.. but... if there's a timeline out there where her and I are together... Princess Twilight Sparkle, fix what has happened to the timeline... and if you see my sister... tell her that I'm sorry.
TS: I will. Thank you.

Luna was taken over by her darkness aka Nightmare Moon, so she wouldn't have any empathy to Celestia at all. She would still hate her for shining brighter than her. Instead, Nightmare Moon would just say that Celestia hates her and everything of her reason to transformation and take over, she couldn't change because of just one phrase "you were close together and you loved each other", she wouldn't believe that at all. Luna was taken over by loneliness and hate to her sister, remember? And if she banished her to the moon, it means Luna was taken over completely with no opportunity going back. The "Nightmare parasite" that corrupted Luna wouldn't let her realise that Celestia loves her. There's nothing wrong with this scene.

Though, as for the last part, Rainbow could've gone over to ministry work, going into research on anything "awesome" like deep-cover espionage, light-weight pegasus armor, and advanced weaponry which, of course, lead to megaspells, balefires, and wastelands...
Actually, Tirek could just as easily wipe the lands clean, so...
Nightmare Moon's present: they had tourists. If your theory was correct, who are the tourists? Also, we saw _no_ plunder vines.
Yeah... the lack of plunder vines does hurt that part of the theory... I guess Nightmare Moon returned the Elements to the Tree of Harmony after all? Maybe Zecora succeeded after all, albeit with great difficulty. I still find it hard to believe that any normal tourist visiting the castle could survive the Timber Wolves. I never took Rarity's remark about tourists at face value. You'd have to be Daring Do levels of awesome just to get there.

I think the apocalypse timeline was Starlight's.
She succeeded in making everyone equal and with no one to defend, Equestria became extremely vulnerable. Villains came one after another and defeated the others so only one villain was in power, Starlight (being the only one with magic) stepped in and defeated the villain with a powerful spell, draining the life force of not only the villain but also every other pony there- including her. Then without any ponies the plants couldn't grow and the clouds couldn't move to spread water so it lead to the Everfree Forest also dying, making a dead wasteland.
So basically, Starlight killed everyone
Very interesting and i appreciate all the thought you put into this. My only overall complaint is the assumption the 'main characters' in the correct timeline are still indeed the 'main characters' in all the others. Otherwise this was quite enjoyable.

Rainbow Dash has the largest influence on the outcomes of the timelines. She's the catalyst for the entire series. Five out of six of her mane colors match with five of the Elements of Harmony. She's also best pony. I think that it's safe to say that SHE'S FINALLY GETTING AN IMPORTANT CHARACTER ARC. Atleast, I hope so. She needs it. By "Important," I mean important in terms of the grand scheme of things.
And no, the Wonderbolt arc was not important. In my opinion, it counted as a filler arc, or was atleast equivalent to one.
Although yours is pretty good, too, I have another explanation for the last timeline: Equestria (or at least Ponyville and the surrounding area) was attacked by the one villain we haven't seen a timeline from: A dragon. It could have been Garble and his...allies but I think the dragon from "Dragonshy" is more likely due to his size and, with it, his power. I mean the ground looks burned, doesn't it? And the sky looks darkened as if something would have blocked the sun. Like the dragons smoke. Also, as stated earlier, we have seen a timeline of every major villain and a pair of recurring villains. Except the dragons, recurring villains, too. What do you think of it.

I sincerely think that it's the alternate universe where Starlight Glimmer got exactly what she wanted: a socialist, all-equal society under which everypony wanted more and more but she could only provide less and less. What we see as the utter destruction are the wastes left after a grand uprising.

Every one of your explanations is good enough to be canon, if you ask me. Except for the ponies in Nightmare Moon's castle being the only ones left in the Nightmare Moon timeline...as others have pointed out. Also, some of the music you used is a little too upbeat for a topic like this...particularly for the "Apocalypse timeline" as you call it. I would recommend having more quiet and sinister music or no music at all...just ambience like wind.
I read a really good fan fiction about the Flim and Flam timeline.
In that story Twilight had simply misunderstood what was going on.
They weren't in charge, she just happened to see them.
It was Equestria in the midst of a super charge industrial revolution.

I did this exact thing over on FimFiction. Albeit, I took the easy route and made a ninth (I think. I lost count.) timeline where Starlight freezes Rainbow Dash BEFORE she reaches Fluttershy. Just a heads-up, it does get a bit dark, though. Somepony doesn't even make it 24 hours after the timeline diverges. Don't worry, I leave those type of scenes as vague as possible as often as possible.

In apocalypse timeline I have better theory, why it did happened. Maybe when she was zapped she hitted the ground VERY hard and because of this... she had disability to fly. She would live being unhappy and without her cutie mark. And maybe someone saw how she was zapped by UNICORN. And that may lead to pegasi making strike against living with unicorns because they thought that unicorns are agressive. And that easily leaded to the war and... nukes. BOOM - world ended.
What I keep wondering about the other timelines is this... What happened to Sunset Shimmer.
Just think about it either she went into the mirror before things got bad and came back to well a very bad Equestria. Or because Celestia didn't have to deal with a very smart lavender book worm foul with unlocked powers she stayed in Equestria and might have been the one sent to find the Elements of Harmony.
Either way, events would be very different for her as well. Just imagine her returning to find the world she left destroyed or in pure Choas. What would the not so good Sunset Shimmer do?

The apocalyptic timeline: Rainbow Dash was injured and Fluttershy took care of her, never moving to Ponyville. The result: she never adopts Angel Bunny, and he destroys Equestria.
in the apocalipse timeline, twilight would still have had all the alicorn powers but she wouldn't have gave them to tirek and all of equestria could have turned into a post-apocaliptic mist, she didn't have her chest, so she didn't care about friends and both she and tirek could have wiprd out all the weak population, both died in the process

For those commenting "They had tourists! They're not all dead!" Nope. They're probably all dead. Outside ponies most likely went to the castle seeking refuge from the forest monsters and were thrown off and labeled as tourists, because the ponies living in the comfort of the castle thought they were just tourists, unaware of the level of danger on the outside of the castle.

Of course I do not agree with everything stated in this video. Also, to connect every string together to form a perfectly coherent story would drive most people insane. Regardless, this was really well done.
I do have one comment. I question how large a role Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy play in changing the fate of Equestria. Of course everything stems from how Starlight stopped the sonic rainboom. However, like in our history, there are many factors and people involved. Could there have been other ponies involved in creating these timelines? Could they have met a pony who did something or prevented something? Basically, putting everything on the actions of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy (while entirely possible considering this is MLP) may not be probable.
Well, like you said, "to connect every string together to form a perfectly coherent story would drive most people insane". I wanted to create a cohesive story for each timeline using as few variables as possible. Still... now that you bring it up, I suppose it's possible that some other pony other than Fluttershy could've convinced the dragon from Dragonshy to nap somewhere else. Perhaps Tree Hugger, for example? Applejack no doubt stayed longer in Manehatten, which could influence her Aunt and Uncle Orange. The Orange family could've gone through character development while looking after Applejack and helped influence the economy a bit. There's also Cheese Sandwich, whose route through Equestria could've been influenced by getting his cutie mark a little later. Then there's the conflict between Appleloosa and the Buffalos... maybe one of the villains took advantage of that for their own purposes...

Second, all of those possibilities you just listed is exactly what I was thinking of. It just makes you wonder I suppose.
I know what you mean about comments getting lost among the hundreds of others. At the same time, though, I can't really get upset about that. I can't even handle 200 comments. I can only imagine how hard it'd be to keep up with ten times that number.
Guys, there's one thing that is sort of wierd. Remember in the apocalypse timeline, If Equestria was wiped out then how come Starlight is still back in time. Think about it, the Mane 6 defeating Starlight at her town led to Starlight altering Starswirls spell which caused alternate realitys. But if there was no Mane 6 to stop her Socialist, Equal Pony society, it would mean that she never altered Starswirls spell because her defeat in her village is what led to her altering the spell. Doesn't that mean she's not in Past Cloudsdale if she didnt get defeated by the mane 6 in those alternate timelines?

Well i actually think that the Apocolyps Timeline is the Timeline of Trixie. She was after all Evil when she was wearing the Alicorn Amulet. In one of the last scenes with the Amulet whe bear that she wanted to tortured Rainbow Dash for stealing her Amulet. So i am pretty sure if the would have the Amulet longer she probably would have started killing ponys. And with the Powers of the Amulet it would be really easy for her to become an Alicorn and just kill everybody with her Magic. I mean she did after all got the skills of the Animatiors. She could have just take Celestias Wings and therefor her Alicornness and turned Celestia in to a tall unicorn. Then it would have been easy for her to kill Celestia. Her Motiv for killing the Ponys in Equestria? They laughed at her. Sounds a bit overdramatic doesn't it? But with the Amulet on she wanted to torture Rainbow Dash. So ab bit longer and she would have killed just because they laughed at her.
... Man, that's dark.
But Trixie only get the amulet if Twilight and her friends disrupt her show in the original timeline and that didn't happen because they weren't there, so Trixie never bought that amulet in any other timeline.

There's one problem at the beginning, King Sombra and Queen Chrysalis ruled together but Chrysalis had to abandon the kingdom after Sombra's corruption, changlings and crystal ponies used to live together in one kingdom, that's also the only time we hear a king and queen, Celestia was hesitant to do anything on Chrysalis's first appearance just watch the part then you'll notice Celestia tries to get her down in the calmest way, she noticed there 's no other way than the elements of harmony, i know this isn't the video topic but i'm just pointing that out

Not to be rude but The flim and flam timeline is connected to when sweet apple acres and flim and flam co. went into battle to make apples faster since the mane six wasen't formed sweet apple acres lost and flim and flam took over equestria and used all the trees for apples and things that you can make with wood and that leads up to what we saw. Once Again not to be rude just pointing it out

About the Nightmare Moon part: Why would Luna, and by extension Nightmare Moon, not know where the elements are? Celestia had no reason to hide them from her sister before.
Luna was possessed when she was Nightmare Moon, and that very spirit was the one in control during then. And that spirit, as evidenced in the 2nd comic arc, would do anything to prevent the use of the Elements of Harmony.

I think there is a simple explanation for the wasteland timeline. The sonic rainboom never happen Twilight was failed and never got in. she never became a student which allowed sunset Shimmer to return early and get the alicorn amulet and faced of with discord, chryslsis and nightmare only losing to tirac but that final battle destroyed both of them as well what remained of equestria

I think you are completely wrong about Chryssy timeline. Fluttershy was in the forest and Rainbow was part of Ponyville since a changeling posed as her.
And you are also wrong with Nightmare Moon's Timeline. She beats Celestia which the season 4 opener leans to. Rainbow tried to fight her but lost and was broken to be the Dash we see. Moon also likely hides Discord to preventing his release or outright destroys his statue. Chryssy would try an invasion since the love energy wouldn't be as strong in this Equestria. Moon knows about the Empire so when it shows up she goes in person and kills Sombra and adds the Empire into her hers. Tirek likely does not get lose because Moon would have better security being a dictator. That's why it's considered the best timelime minus canon.

hell, I have a theory that the Elements of Harmony are not the only ponies that Celestia uses, I think that Daring Do is a pony that goes on missions for Celestia! so maybe she was hired to take care of one or 2 of the villains?
what about when Sunset came back to take Twilight's crown? Twi was clearly not around so would Sunset have came back seeing as the world may have need someone with "Power"? I kind of think she would to try to rub it in anyway she could...
or maybe in every timeline Starlight stops Twilight from learning magic but the last one where Twilight was the cause of the end? without training by Celestia her magic could have gone haywire or maybe she wanted more power to help protect Equestria from one of the main villains but something went wrong?

Late replay, but I think the fake wing can best be explained rainbow being in the war made her lose her wing, and since everyone in equestria is working towards the war, technology would be more advanced too, so fake wings would exist

If we do see Nightmare Star, then more of Luna's so-called "fans" will complain about Nightmare Moon being made a separate being from Luna in another canon MLP:FiM story media.
All we know that Princess Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon was part Jealously. So by show cannon it is 100% possible that Luna chose to act out.
We seen spike, Rarity, twilight, sunset, trixie, starlight and other get jealous. So Celestia up there too. And there are more that I don't know the names. Oh can't forget the CMCs and diamond tiara of course!
But her transformation wasn't just jealousy. Word of God did say that evil magic was involved with Luna's transformation. And in the comics, specifically during the 2nd story arc in the comics, the source of the evil magic was revealed to be a demonic entity. One that can only gain a physical presence if it gains a body, and manipulates a potential host into becoming the body in question. And Luna was the one that was manipulated when she became Nightmare Moon's vessel, and she wasn't that spirit's last vessel either.
There are three things needed to do transformations a good example is done by the show Winx Club. But a better example would be Sunset Shimmer's arc.
Formula for evil transformation:
1 a negative feeling; anger, jealousy, fear, desperation, hate and sadness
Sunset shimmer had three. Desperation, anger and jealousy. And in the first episode: "the ponies folic and played in the older sister's day but shun the night. As time went on the younger sister grew resentful of her older sister. One fateful night the youngest refused to lower the moon. The older sister tried to reason with the younger one but it was already too late. Anger and jealously had turned her into a mare of darkness. Nightmare moon!"

Sunset Shimmer had desperation, anger, and jealousy. True. But that wasn't what triggered it her own evil transformation. From how I understand it, the Element of Magic tried driving those negative feelings out of her, but ended up amplifying those feelings instead and turning her into what she later describes as a "she-demon" due to being too weak to act on its own. It's a bit different than how Luna transforms, which happened because she let herself be taken advantage of by a demonic entity who sought to use her for its own gains; described by Luna herself as "knowing exactly what to say" to convince her and give her its energy and hate. And spoiler alert: Rarity undergoes the same exact transformation Luna undergoes via the same exact methods used by the demonic entity in question, and during an effort to render the Elements of Harmony useless.

The war itself took place after King Sombra's return. Before that, Rainbow Dash had been living in Ponyville for less than an year. Assuming recruitment took place anywhere in Equestria, Pinkie Pie and Maud Pie could've signed up separately from anywhere in the country before reuniting in the army.

Growth spurt / early bloomer, plus she's an year older than Pinkie Pie. The others probably went through a similar development phase later in their lives... Or not at all. One of the first things I learned about puberty back in Middle School is that it doesn't happen at the exact same time / age and at the exact same rate for everybody. I believe the range is somewhere between ages 8 - 17... Or something like that. Eh... Close enough. :p
