in my theory the school in cloudsdale is split into two, one focuses on physical activity, and one for academic activity. fluttershy would have been in the academic side and would have learned about wonder bolt history then, where as rainbow would instead be tort to strive to be like them in the future. just a thought.

I think the reason AppleJack, Rarity, and Fluttershy know is becoming they learned it in school. Rainbow doesn't know because she flunked out like the bullies said. Twilight knows because she read about it. Pinkie Pie is different though. Even if she did want to throw a wonder bolts themed party, I don't there would be a real reason to study the entire history. Maybe Pinkie learned it in school. But we don't know if she's ever been to school. I can't find a good enough reason for her to do so, other than she just wanted to do it.

However, this specific episode does show quite a bit about rainbow dash's thought process and character; a lot more than people take into perspective.

I'm just disappointed how they butchered AJ in this episode, yea her expertise are apples but you naturally learn through passing time and growing up, and meeting random people (customers).
