there is a full version of this performance with the chopin intro on the piano by dark haired guitarist miyako. that also explains her prerecorded piano backing track in the middle of the song - because obviously she can't play both at the same time. she is considered the main composer for the band and is a classically trained pianist who took up guitar at age 18. but in one song -' burden of time' she actually does play both instruments at the same time. this band can go as hard and heavy as any band out there and more than most. most complete band i've ever seen and can play anything.

In the case of the piano, Miyako (dark-haired guitarist) is both the pianist and one of the two lead guitarists. She pre-recorded some of the piano parts that were playing when she is needed on guitar (such as when she is soloing, or she is harmonizing with Midori, the blonde guitarist), but she switches to the piano and/or keyboard on parts where only Midori is needed on the guitar.

Now that you've gotten a taste of Japanese metal with Lovebites, your next steps should be to get to know a few more bands from this wonderful country. My recommendations would be Hanabie, most of the reaction channels start with We love sweets, Hanabie's latest music video is Be the Gal, and the legendary band Maximum The Hormone, of which I recommend the song Yoshu Fukushu to get you started. Love Bites is not a Christian metal band, but they do sometimes write songs with religious or mythological themes. They wear white feminine stage costumes for several reasons, but the biggest reason is that they were tired of black stage costumes. Of course, they may have been isolated because white was considered taboo in the Japanese metal scene. Still, they dared to choose white stage costumes, determined to do what they wanted to do, even if people would not accept them and they would end up like Lone Wolf. And they made the "wolf" the symbol of the band. Therefore, people bitten by LOVEBITES began to call themselves "Wolfpack. Nice reaction! You mentioned Fami: actually, Fami is the new bassist. The bassist on this video is Miho. And yes you're right: there are piano parts in the middle of the song that are backing tracks, in all likelihood recorded by Miyako, the dark-haired guitarist that also plays the piano at the end. As others mentioned, she also plays a Chopin-Intro before this song, but you looked at a video where this part is (regrettably) omitted. Definitely check out more Lovebites, they're a fantastic band!

There is a backing track that is playing both piano and voice during this song. It is the piano playing girl (Miyako) that plays the piano in the backing track. And I think it is the singer (Asami) that sings all the voices in the backing choir. This is not common in Lovebites live performances. All sounds are usually generated on stage.
Asami recorded choirs for a few songs, most notably this one and Glory to the World (hired actresses played the role of the background singers in the video for GttW, but Asami did all of the actual voices). She also recorded several layers of the gang vocals in the chorus of Stand and Deliver, though the other band members contributed some as well. The one I'm not sure about is Empty Daydream - in the live version, it is obvious that Miyako and Miho are singing backing vocals, but I'm not sure if they also do it on the studio version, or if that is all Asami.

They are all petite ladies, so they decided to wear white because most metal stages are very dark. White reflects light so they can be seen. What you were hearing were backing tracks that are pre-recorded by Miyako, usually the sound engineer handles the backing tracks.
Not a Christian band. The clothes were a statement - not black and dark like all other heavy metal bands. They use tracks to fill the sound for the missing instruments. Quite normal today. Yes - most definitely not a Christian band. The only religious references I can even think of in thier songs are Buddist, not Christian. And perhaps ironically, Christian metal bands ALWAYS look exactly like secular metal bands. The only way you would know they are "Christian" is from their song lyrics.

Thanks for taking a listen to LOVEBITES. I've been listening to them for roughly three years now and have only discovered one song that I don't like. Japan is a hotbed of highly-skilled and diverse rock and metal musical groups, so you could easily do a month or three of nothing but reactions to artists from that country.
Hello, again, from Hamburg, Germany. I've really enjoyed your premiere, although I was some minutes late (blame Magnus Carlsen for it, he conceded too late against Vincent Keymer!)... Don't forget to watch the Chopin intro one day! This gem is a song, that I usually don't suggest for first contact with LOVEBITES, but it's a really good song. All songs of them are at least good, some of them excellent or masterpieces. Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. there is a full version of this performance with the chopin intro on the piano by dark haired guitarist miyako. that also explains her prerecorded piano backing track in the middle of the song - because obviously she can't play both at the same time. she is considered the main composer for the band and is a classically trained pianist who took up guitar at age 18. but in one song -' burden of time' she actually does play both instruments at the same time. this band can go as hard and heavy as any band out there and more than most. most complete band i've ever seen and can play anything.

Lovebites are always in white (almost always). They always play amazing solos, and almost always these are duoling solos. They play different genres, but the main are power metal and thrash metal.

Their live performances are outstanding. Some people say that they’re redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist and founder of the band) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. Miyako is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. In the case of the piano, Miyako (dark-haired guitarist) is both the pianist and one of the two lead guitarists. She pre-recorded some of the piano parts that were playing when she is needed on guitar (such as when she is soloing, or she is harmonizing with Midori, the blonde guitarist), but she switches to the piano and/or keyboard on parts where only Midori is needed on the guitar.

Now that you've gotten a taste of Japanese metal with Lovebites, your next steps should be to get to know a few more bands from this wonderful country. My recommendations would be Hanabie, most of the reaction channels start with We love sweets, Hanabie's latest music video is Be the Gal, and the legendary band Maximum The Hormone, of which I recommend the song Yoshu Fukushu to get you started. Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in 2018. 2018 - Wacken - Open Air in Germany 2018 - Bloodstock Open Air in England 2019 - Graspop Metal Meeting Festival in Belgium 2019 - Download Festival in Spain In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

Nice reaction! You mentioned Fami: actually, Fami is the new bassist. The bassist on this video is Miho. And yes you're right: there are piano parts in the middle of the song that are backing tracks, in all likelihood recorded by Miyako, the dark-haired guitarist that also plays the piano at the end. As others mentioned, she also plays a Chopin-Intro before this song, but you looked at a video where this part is (regrettably) omitted. Definitely check out more Lovebites, they're a fantastic band!

There is a backing track that is playing both piano and voice during this song. It is the piano playing girl (Miyako) that plays the piano in the backing track. And I think it is the singer (Asami) that sings all the voices in the backing choir. This is not common in Lovebites live performances. All sounds are usually generated on stage.
Asami recorded choirs for a few songs, most notably this one and Glory to the World (hired actresses played the role of the background singers in the video for GttW, but Asami did all of the actual voices). She also recorded several layers of the gang vocals in the chorus of Stand and Deliver, though the other band members contributed some as well. The one I'm not sure about is Empty Daydream - in the live version, it is obvious that Miyako and Miho are singing backing vocals, but I'm not sure if they also do it on the studio version, or if that is all Asami.

Lovebites is composed of 4 elite level musicians and an amazing vocalist. They use backing tracks on some of their songs to give it a fuller sound. Because of the complexity of their music they rarely move around on stage, wanting instead to provide the best quality of music for the audience. They have much heavier songs than this one. By the way, even though there are some overtones associated to religion with mentions of Valhalla in the chorus, Lovebites is not a Christian or religious band. You are right in terms of a piano backing track in the chorus because the virtuoso lead guitarist/pianist (Miyako) cannot be at 2 places at the same time in this LIVE performance. Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. In reference to the "soft drink", it is not a soft drink, it is called "Mate" and it is an Argentine drink that has a cultural significance outside of the simple fact of drinking it. Argentines use mate to share experiences, it is like a tea but it is drunk with a bombilla and the herbs are placed in the container.
