    Once again, you have covered Logic in a way that so many others seem to skim over or miss entirely. Spot on Sir!

    Your channel is by far my favourite logic/production resource - you have an excellent teaching style, are concise, but still pack in a lot of detail to combine useful how to's of manoeuvring in logic with really interesting production//sound design approaches - thanks very much!
    in case you're taking requests for future videos;
    1. continue with what you're doing guiding through logic's overlooked/under-appreciated features- there are so many stock features of logic that i've not explored/ignored that i've come to for the first time from your videos which i'm now really enjoying using (am sat in front of sculpture as i type this)
    2. continuation of orchestral programming - this is something i dabble in and enjoy, and appreciated your first video - i feel that I have at least some sense of what i'm doing when programming string parts, but much more clutching at straws for the rest of the orchestra - so a video on programming woodwinds, then one on brass, then one on percussion would be amazing (possibly as part of a short series recreating a small excerpt from a piece in the classical repertoire?)
    3. Deep dive into logic sampler covering handling of round robins etc that you touched on in your previous video - i know your channel is logic pro focussed, so you may not want to touch this, but a comparison of pros and cons of using logic sampler vs. Kontakt would be great.
    4. logic smart tempo - i'm primarily a guitarist and have begun recording parts using smart tempo, and then adapting my project tempo to the feel of my playing, which i then programme midi drums to. I find the smart tempo editor is sometimes easy to work with in editing the tempo map of my parts before applying to project tempo, but can be very fiddly - following on from your free tempo video which focussed on midi, a video on smart tempo editor for audio files (i.e. when you have an audio part that smart tempo hasn't analyzed very accurately and you need to manually edit) would be amazing (my machine capabilities mean i'm stuck on logic version pre hint mode and pre free record button).
    I've watched lots of content on each of the above on other channels, so have developed some experience, but given how much i've learnt from your other videos here i'd be really interested in your approach.
    Thanks!

      Thank you so much for - firstly - your kind words and secondly, such a detailed collection of suggestions. All great ideas and some coming sooner than you might have expected! For the others, I’m very happy to add them to the list. Again, sincerely, huge thanks. I’m so glad to hear the videos are proving useful to you.

    Using the velocity ramp also opens up the possibilites of using valocity values to affect velocity-sensitive parameters in more advanced Logic synths..

    Jono, love all your tutorials! But when choosing 1/16, 1/8, etc. is that pure experiment or are you choosing according to the BPM’s?
    Gianni❤

    • @jonobuchananmusic
      @jonobuchananmusic  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Gianni. A bit of both. All of the default rates are locked to tempo, so they will certainly change if you alter the tempo and they will remain 'locked' according to the BPM. But after that, absolutely, use your ears to experiment with which value sounds best to you.

    You can separate by note pitch, and that will create a separate track for each drum kit piece.

    The most important parameter, for a note, repeater is the ability to introduce some randomness into the pattern, otherwise everything sounds like a fucking robot.

      True, it's definitely a tool which is more effective for some musical genres than others. But it's also true that if you assign Velocity in interesting ways within the plug-in itself (think Sculpture, for instance), exactly the Randomness you mention can come alive.

    • @daveking3494
      @daveking3494 6 месяцев назад

      but I can already assign random velocities simply by using logic, built-in arpeggiator@@jonobuchananmusic
