  • Ingredients:
    majjige huli :
    1 small cup coconut
    5 green chillis
    salt
    1 tbsp jeera
    1 tbsp coriander seeds
    hing
    3 tbsp chana dal [ soaked ]
    1 inch ginger
    1/2 tsp turmeric
    1 glass butter milk
    tempering
    2 tbsp oil
    1/2 tsp mustard
    hing
    2 red chilli
    curry leaves
    sandige :
    1 small cup chana dal
    1 small cup toor dal
    1 cup coconut
    hing
    1 inch ginger
    1 tsp jeera
    4 green chilli
    salt
    1 small cup coriander leaves and few curry leaves
    * Grind all ingredients with soaked chana dal with little water
    * keep it aside
    * for sandige , Take soaked dal [ both ] drain water
    * add ladleful dal , chilli , jeera and ginger grind well [ do not add water]
    * add rest of dal grind coarsely
    * transfer to a bowl , add coriander , curry leaves , salt ,hing and coconut mix well
    * make small balls and steam for 12 to 15 min
    * in another vessel , add oil once hot add mustard , hing 2 pieces red chilli and curry leaves
    sauté well
    * add ground paste with 1 cup of water bring to boil [ keep stirring in the middle ]
    * once boiled add 1 glass of butter milk , bring to boil
    * if steamed sandige is ready add 6 to 7 to majjige hulli
    * let it simmer for 1 min
    * switch off and serve with hot rice
