A lot of people were saying that the doctor does not kill. No he doesnt, but he can influence things to happen like when he fought the gods of ragnarok or when he stopped the time war
I actually like the way Sutekh was defeated but i just believe it could've been explained better. Like death, touching death creates life. I see that as, the dust is an embodiement/bringer of death, as is Sutekh, the saddest thing about Sutekh is he'll always be alone because he's bound by his existence that anything he touches dies. Including death itself. So the Dr forcing him to touch death/dust across time using the vortex erased the death dust from existence before it killed anyone which is how everyone came back. Paradoxical. That explanation would have satisfied me. Also the way Ruby casually wrapped the lasso round Sutekh neck was annoying to watch. I like the reuse of the glove to not make the Dr appear oddly strong when without it, Sutekh would've realistically yanked and thrown him across the room. But yeah the lasso could've been attached to Sutekh via the Tardis, maybe the rope was actually fitted beneath the console so it wasn't just hooked over the edge of console. It was part of the console and the TARDIS itself almost attacked Sutekh with the rope.
I also like the idea of Ruby's mum being so important because we made her that way from not knowing. But I still don't get why she'd act so mysterious on her own. Like the pointing, who was she telling to name her daughter? No one was around. And even if they were, why would they look at that sign and go "ah she wants us to name her daughter that". Why would she act so mystic for no reason lol
@@david.l8698 Well, she didn't point until The Doctor was there, and he had clearly seen her drop off baby Ruby, so she was telling him. At least, that was my interpretation of it

He doesn’t ever want to but the Doctor has killed before. Like 10 says after killing the leader of the Sycorax, “No second chances. That’s the type of man I am.”

@@johnmarshall6394 That would have been more better than having him thrown into the time vortex because we don't really know if Sutekh is dead or not, I mean he did latch onto the TARDIS after escaping death in Pyramids of Mars episode.
One also wonders whether he is really a monster or if this is the ultimate Man Who Stops the Monsters moment (though Fifteen is way gentler than Twelve).
What a fitting end to sutekh! The CGI was on point! Spot on! Amazing! Ncuti and millie are incredible actors, definitely the right choice to play the doctor and the companion! Now we wait for series 2 where we find our new companion in the form of verada sethu! I think millie will come back but verada will carry on with ncuti and millie will leave the show at the start of series 2 or halfway through series 2
He has come back prior to this in comics and audio dramas. Who's to say he'll end up popping up in one of those again. Who knows when he'll show up a again
I think the sotuation there was a little bit different. In TCoRr he was in the act of saving baby Ruby and there simply was no other way to saver her. Here Sutekh was basically alreaddy defeated. Everyone was alive again. In a way here the doctor pretty much had to become an executioner. Because what else could he have done with Sutekh? Imprisoning him has failed before. So destroying him was pretty much the only option. So I think what he is sad or ashamed about is not the fact that he had to kill someone, but why. He killed someone who was alreaddy at his mercy.

The ending was Family of Blood on steroids, in a sense. It would have been interesting to see how Fourteen would have played this.

Ruby will return as a companion in S2, the Xmas episode will be just The Doctor by himself.

It’s great, because I think he finally comes to accept that even though he wants everyone to live, he knows he can’t save everyone, and that’s okay
