#HOMEact1623 is a critical step towards rent stabilization in Montgomery County. ACT's Bert Bayou testified in support of the bill, which would cap rent increases at 3%.
For immigrant, Black, and Brown communities, finding affordable and safe housing is becoming increasingly difficult, particularly in the DMV region. Our communities are pushed out in favor of new developments and wealthier residents. Montgomery County has the opportunity to support housing justice and end price gauging in the county.
