This would actually make a good oath. If you didn't get any mantras from the oath, it would justify making this unleashed form of the blade really powerful, too. And it would be a great trade, from a game design standpoint, too. Sacrificing the usefulness of sinister halo or radiant kick in favor of using a really good sword
The fact that you are able to do this in a short amount of time compared to a team of devs who overall preforms at a subpar level in an extended period of time.
except the team of devs actually had to brainstorm and create the concept, create a 2d representation of the sword, use the 2d representation to model the sword & sheathe in 3d, animate everything, script everything, then add it into the game, tweak and fix anything, then edit the stats to balance the weapon. don't get me wrong this guy's video and animations were cool but you are downplaying the devs and the work that goes into the game EXTREMELY. also what? you have no idea how long it took this guy to make this video. the boss fight and majority of the work relating to the boss/weapon were also done by 1 dev, and released within a week or two of starting it.
fun fact: i did this while juggling between like 8 projects and a shit ton of game commisions its just a matter of whether or not you actually do care about the stuff youre doing

Monad could even do the same for other boss weapons (Pale Briar, Stoneheart, Krulian Knife, etc)
i like to think of it as an enchantment, heres my idea. 1. soul link mechanic - the soul link mechanic is something that can be unlocked after a certain requirement is met for a certain weapon (weapons that have something called a "soul" enchantment, which ill talk about later on) , for example, using the Legion Cestus and grinding "Bond" with the weapon (which ill also talk about later on). after a certain point, youll be able to connect with your weapons soul which resides within the weapon. this connection has 4 levels to it, "corrupt, "impure", "pure", and "soulbound". each level gives higher and higher buffs the more you progress, and each type of weapons has a unique buff to it, for example, fists do 10% more damage, and inflicts bleed on a seccussful crit, but also deals 1% of your health on landing a crit as a drawback. you can only unlock "pure" after you have 4 proficiency. oh yea, almost forgot, you have to do a trial to unlock impure and pure. this is kinda like the trial of one, just that itll be your soul that you will be fighting. actually, thats just Bleach. fuck. 2. bond - bond is required to make a soul link and a bar will be shown in the right side corner of how much bond the weapon has. thisll only show for weapons with the "soul" enchantment. thats all. 3. soul enchantment - weapons with the soul enchantment is not like the others and can only be found in a new place called the "ruins of the old world". this place can be accessed by talking to an NPC in upper erisia, near the purple flame. he will give you a quest to eradicate the boss of this place called "stonesurgeon". after you defeat the boss with your weapon of choice, go back to the purple flame and gaze into it. there will be a new option called "infuse". once you select it, the weapon will have the soul enchantment.
I think we all could agree we need a movie of these animators: thundey, exu, nymfei, mr_jki, bloxy comics. And instead of all of them fighting it could be some sinister villain .

this is what I be thinking but instead of a singular weapon possessing a cursed spirit inside of it it would be the enchant that possesses a spirit and it does not like being tamed by the hands of a lowlife pathfinding baby
