    This has easily been one of the most enjoyable Animals as Leaders songs to play. It's probably one of their heaviest songs as far as big riff's, huge thumping drums and again amazing song writing goes. The guitar in this track has some of the best low end tone I've heard played on an 8 string! The majority of this song is really groove orientated with AAL's quickly introducing big back beats and open feels at the start of the song but also features quick odd metered sections which string this song together into one amazing master piece. This song was also produced by and drums programmed by Misha Mansoor.

    i think what's so striking about Troy is his form when he drums. He has one of the most graceful and cleanest forms i've ever seen in a drummer. Every hit has the perfect balance of timing, tempo, and dynamics.

    mr. troy wright,
    you should be touring around the world giving drum clinics
    or writing original progressive rock music
    you're one of the most (if not THE most) ACCURATE and PRECISE drummer on youtube
    this is ridiculous GOOD

    If Matt ever leaves (I hope he does not), you would be a good addition.

      If I'm not mistaken when Navene left AAL Troy was supposed to join them but he had problems with his visa so it didn't work out. I really hope someday Troy joins a band and writes original music. EDIT: yep found this in a interview
      "Well we actually had a few options who were already able to play the songs. One of them was an Australian actually, who lives up on the Gold Coast, Troy Wright, who we discovered on RUclips already transcribing and playing the songs. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get a visa to play with us because we really wanted to work with him."

      John Crichton Awesome isn't the right word! It's a damn shame!
      But then Matt is a bit of a monster too...

    • @JohnCrichton
      @JohnCrichton 9 лет назад +1

      kumquatmagoo Ehhhhh..... Matt is a far better drummer. Troys style just feels groovy and would work very well with AAL. I think even Troy would agree that Matt is a superior drummer.

    • @KrillSmith
      @KrillSmith 9 лет назад +2

      Id agree that Matt is a better drummer, especially on the studio recordings, but i think he over complicates stuff live. I always watch live videos of older songs and find that he just over-does some of my favourite drum parts. But technically speaking he is better than troy and Navene.

  • @mattpricedrums
    @mattpricedrums 12 лет назад +3

    really man, just beautiful articulation, great hands and you looked so relaxed playing such difficult music. I think your form and function and lack of stiffness impressed me more than the music. You are a great musician..

    I come back to this every once in a while, it truly does live rent free in my head. The energy is incredible and that last section is so good it has honestly made it difficult for me to listen to the original song. The way you phase the splash cymbal in and out of 8th notes and vary the syncopation to accentuate the chromatic descent on the guitar is just brilliant, it fills out the sound so well and lets the guitars burst through when you move off the splash for fills. The fundamental rhythmic understanding to hear a riff like that written by someone else and to improve it in that way is just crazy. Even Gartska live doesn't make it sound nearly this good. Absolutely legendary cover, the closest to classy djent has ever been.

    Only way Troy's channel could be outdone is if Tomas Haake made a drum channel and posted covers and playthroughs frequently. Troy, you are amazing and someday I want to take some lessons from you.

      whats the hype around Hakke? i really dont understand... why does everyone think he is so good? id rate him no more then 7.5/10 max. for me Troy is a better drummer. he has emotion. Hakke is stone cold

    • @IOutDoSyndicate
      @IOutDoSyndicate 7 лет назад +5

      sfingus usually when people have no reason to dislike someone they say its because they have no emotion

    • @Sfingus
      @Sfingus 7 лет назад +2

      i dont dislike him.read what i said?? 7.5/10 i like him. how is that " a dislike "? xD i just like Troy way more. he is flying on the drums. and he makes faces. he feels it. its just obvious. same as Garstka for example. When a drummers makes faces ;)) you know what i mean.. but hey. i guess you dont. you are probably not a drummer. xD or just not a really good one then.

    Yeah its a beautiful china. Short decay, trashy (everything i love in a china). I also have a stack tho which is punchy and short so i could easily use a normal china as well in my set up now.
