He could give the steel legion and the savlar chem dogs some love both are gas mask born tunnel fighters. Chem dogs go so far as to have their gas mask/drug dispenser/emperors peace providers into their necks/bodies.
It would be so poetic to listen to “We’ll meet again” watching blessed weapons of dark era climbing into the air as protective shields get lowered down slowly, dimming more and more light into the room until they seal shut and cut all the sun light.

Enjoyed this immensly! Thank you very much. Your animation style in this and Vraks really has improved a lot. One thing I did miss was that Jurten desperatly ties to get Krauss to surrender before he launched the nukes. Krauss knew the rumors about the weapons but ignored the warning.

I had hoped to see more about the actual post-nuke war, but I suppose there aren't a lot of mentions about the specific events that can be confirmed. Regardless, excellent short series

Actually Vacta womb technology isn't technically cloning, they are as the name implies wombs every kriegsman is required to give their sexual genetic material, not to be confused with the somatic genetic material, and then the tech priest take material and mix it into the womb. some weeks later you get another kriegsman or Kriegswoman.

Jurten's lack of diplomatic acumen really failed Krieg. If he had sent a handful of nukes to one hive and then just give an ultimatum to the rest they would have probably folded. And if they didn't, well, do it again and again until the enemy realizes this will go on until they surrender. Much more effective than just nuking everything in one blast. There's no reason for surrender anymore, just vengeance.
Well we are talking about very very old tech here. What did the magos and Jurten knew for sure about these missiles? I assume he did not know if they are going to be intercepted by the hive's AAA or not. Even more: Will they fly? Fly to their designated target? Detonate? Detonate with the desired effect? Launching everything he had in store hoping for the best was the best thing to do I guess. He could not know if there was a second try after the first volley. One has to be impressed that all of them found their targets and blasted as intended. After all these years it would have been more likely that the missiles would not even have launched any more due to boosters being rotten. Hell, these missiles were still there for nobody dared to dismantle them as far as i understood. Hitting that red button might have turned Ferrograd into molten slag granting the rebel's a blazing victory.
That he did not know if they would work actually is an argument against the all-out launch rather than in favour of it. Launch one at a city as a test. If it works, great, you are at the ultimatum stage and can force the rest to fold. If it falls short but still detonated, you can still claim it as a warning shot, forcing the enemy to negotiate while the tech priests work on fixing the rest of the stock. If it fails, well realistically the enemy has no clue you fired a dud nuke, they probably think it was a cruise missile. And you can still get your tech priests to work on making the remaining stock operational. If you fire all of them and they are faulty. Well you pissed away your stock with no benefit and no way to try and fix what remains as there is noting.
It wouldn’t have worked, or at least it wouldn’t have stuck. Kriegs loyalty to the Imperium would have relied entirely on the threat of nuclear annihilation. There would likely have been countless more rebellions over the centuries, and eventually the planet would likely have been destroyed anyway.

They even tried warning the rebels that they had these weapons. HELL there was even a mutiny to PREVENT these weapons from being fired. Clearly plenty of those in the soon to be death guard would have felt that totally ruining their world was not worth the price. but surrounded and abandoned with little if any hope of reinforcement their use of these horrible weapons was an invitability. AND ALL IT DID WAS EVEN THE ODDS.

It's surprisingly easy to get used to daily air raid sirens and the threat of nuclear contamination, as long as you are certain of what you stand for. And yes, petty tyrants will always try to spoil your festivities, then gloat about how they will never run out of stuff to throw at you so you should surrender. But the Emperor's Judgment comes to all.
