Murray's situation is different, because he played amazing, 30ppg on 50-40-90 splits & first player to ever do that in a conference finals. I thought him & Jokic should've gotten co-MVP. In the Heat's case Martin averaged 19ppg & 6 rebs, whereas Jimmy averaged 25ppg, 7reb, & 6ast. Jimmy definitely deserved it. People be wanting to give role-players superstar treatment just for stepping up their game with no pressure. Martin put up good numbers for him being a role-player, but those still aren't star caliber numbers. Same reason I thought Stephen Curry got robbed in 2015 NBA Finals, they gave Iggy the FMVP just for upping his averages into the teens & guarding LeBron, while Curry was still averaging superstar numbers. A role-player stepping up his numbers into the teens is not really an MVP imo, that's just being an x-factor. With this mindset, imo they're messing up people's resume's & history, Curry should really be a 2-time FMVP.

Superstars like Jimmy Butler and Jayson Tatum will never be dominant stylistically like Embid, Giannis, Jokic etc. However, they can be dominant by winning. When it comes to to winning, Jimmy gets it done on both ends. If not with points, blocks and steals, with his presence and impact. He is a very consistent player and I wish Tatum could be consistent like him. You can’t go full quarters in games without an impact and because you got 30 that you had a great game. A good game maybe but not great. Tatum being 5-2 in game 7s and having the highest scoring game 7 is a losing stat to me. He’s my favourite player but all that means to me is that you lost 21 games in 7 playoff series. That doesn’t sound like winning to me. I hope he doesn’t let those stats fool him.

Caleb definitely shot the ball better than Jimmy, but that's the sign of a great player. Butler only shot 42 percent from the field but he averaged almost 3 steals per game, rebounded the ball with second most overall rebounds and most offensive rebounds. He led the team in assists. He got to the free throw line to still lead the team in scoring. He found other ways to get it done and that's the mark of a great player.

It is surprising to see commentators say that Martin should have gotten the MVP. The majority of voters saw what I saw. It isn't even a statistical thing, except maybe Martin was more efficient. I hate this argument. Same with Iguodala. Take Iguodala/Martin out of the team, they might lose. They win a game, or two but their chances of loosing grow exponentially. Take Curry/Butler of that team, and it's sweep, 0:4 and it's by 20 every game. Caleb leads in shooting splits/TS%, and trails in every other stats. Butler still had the ball at the end of games and his play is what gave him 3 wins. Stop with that bs. But it's the media so go with this story because it's more controversial. Same as it did back with Iggy.

You can’t break up two All-NBA wings at age 25 and 26 entering their primes. This duo has already been to 4 conference finals (18, 20, 22, 23) and Brown has been to 5 cause Boston was in the conference finals in 2017 his rookie season. These guys are just now entering their 7-8 year prime. This is the healthy and young version of Kawhi and Paul George. It’s like 2019 Kawhi and 2014 Paul George were both 25 years old and didn’t have injury problems. They could easily win 2-3 titles in the next 7-8 years.

Jimmy Buttler destroys the Bucks then heads down to NYC and beat them up good with a Sore ankle. Then game 1 vs Celtics gets 35-5-7, game 2) 27-8-6 Sends Grant Williams to the bench, game 3) 16-8-6 not that great but nearly a triple-double, game 4) 29-9-5, game 5) didn't play that great but had nearly a triple-double again, game 6) gives you 24-11-8 and Martin played well had 21-15 RB and game 7 Jimmy had 28-7-6. So how on earth does Caleb Martin even get one vote away from winning the conference's finals MVP?? It is so absurd it blows my mind away. Jimmy absolutely played way better than Caleb Martin mind you Caleb played well here and there and was probably the 2nd best player after Jimmy. And even some of the shots that he took were because of Jimmy's assists. The MVP award is as A WHOLE getting to the Finals, NOT JUST ONE SERIES. It's so disrespectful how forgetful people can be after a few bad games when it was his fight and drive that willed his team to win in the first place. Same as Steph, they are TRUE LEADERS and performers. Yes, they have bad games, but overall package they are the TRUE MVP'S period. Stop the weak narratives.
