The crossfader is assignable on deck to any combination of the 4 channels. There is also a mini level meter for every channel. The pitch faders are high resolution and just massive! You also get a 24 bit sound card for that money. Well done gemini!
Didn't you do a review for gemini cdm 4000 mixer ? I can't find it on youtube. Used to DJ in the 80's in NYC.I'm 55 now and have an itch to get back in for fun and doing some gigs.Your channel has been very helpful as I've only dj'ed on vinyl and never cd or digital.I'm a big fan of the 70-80's disco dance,underground house and latin freestyle music. Victor Rodriguez its pretty good. I personally have been concentrating on the lighting side of things more recently and frankly this is now just used as a sound card. but when I did used to use it it was great, I heard my brother (who actually can DJ) using it and he said it was far better than this one. if you want a good beginner/medium quality controller go for it ;-) if you have any specific questions feel free to ask me :-)

I have a question: If i connected a turntable to my Computer and map it as a Sound-Input in "Traktor" (or any other Software), couldn't i control it's volume and eq with this mixer virtually? I mean, it should be just as good as any other audio source, coming in externally when using a multi-channel-input soundcard?

So far this is my list in order of which one I am choosing to buy from my research: 1. Gemini G4V 2.Pioneer DDJ SB2 3. Numark Mixtrack Platinum 4. Dennon MC4000 From a completely hardware perspective (although I prefer serato), which one is the best to start out with and will last me for a long time?
Hey man! Sorry that I only saw this 3 weeks later, but here are my suggestions; While the G4V IS a 4-channel controller, giving it some benefits over the others, the lack of flexibility with fx control and lack of Serato kinda make it a loser. The Mixtrack Platinum and MC4000 are pretty much equal, except the MC4000 has a much nicer construction, go for which one you like more, and the DDJ SB2 is an all around great controller. I'd organise them as; Dennon MC4000 Mixtrack Platinum DDJ SB2 Gemini G4V I know that's the reverse of your list, that's my suggestion :P

I think this controller is under estimated because it doesn't have a numark or pioneer logo on it. Gemini is a great brand.. This controller with vdj8 is perfect. get a wireless mic system too. well worth it! Try it out!
Hi Phil, would you be able to let me know how you got ahold of those semi-circle shelves? They are the perfect way to get my monitors at ear-height without blocking my turntables. They legs look like Capita legs from IKEA, can I assume IKEA sell the shelf too?
Does it have an integrated sound card so that I can get sound through the headphones? My laptop has a sound card with 1/2 channels. I need the 3/4 so that I can output to my speakers and output to the headphones.
I haven't read anything about it but in the end any controller can be used with any controller software. I'm am not a Serato user so I would not know where to get the needed mapping.
Have you tried traktor compatibility with this controller? Its really nice but VDJ isn't really my preference. I know you can get pretty much anything to work with traktor but sometimes the jogs aren't as responsive as I'd like.

Have you seen the S3 they've just released Peter? Might be just what you're after, the s4 isn't particular big either considering how big some controllers on the market are and they're built specifically for the software
just wanted to say i recently got this a few weeks ago, and i had the s4 mk2, this to me as far as build quality is superior to the s4 mk2, and it works great with traktor pro as well. All for half the cost.

im always amused at how reviewers equate weight/metal parts with longevity/durability, the plastic controlers last just as long. more often its the internal parts that fail, not the chassis. :-) if you are throwing around a plastic controller enough to break it, your gonna break the metal one aswell

Ddj SB-2 from pioneer seems as a good option as well
