I think the screen res lowering was more about lowering the battery usage than the spec. I have both the 1V and the 1VI and you cannot see the diference. The 1VI has variable 1-120 hz which, when combined with the 8Gen3 processor is lightning fast. it's a better user experience. The price also reflects extra features like high fidelity audio in and out, a proper shutter button and the ability to swap out micro sd cards up to 1.5 TB...not to mention a dedicated shutter button with true DSLR-like shooting. If Apple added all those it would be just as expensive. Remember Sony only sell a few of these when comparing market share. If more of you bought them then they'd cost less. Use it or lose it everyone. This is one of the best phones in the world and deserves not to disappear. No other phone has this feature set. How much would it cost to add 1TB of storage to an iPhone? A hell of a lot more than it cost me with my Xperia, and I can just add another card if I need to. Can you do that with iPhone/Samsung/etc?....no you can't. Not without sticking a big limpet on the back of your phone at much higher cost, bulk and crappiness. My Xperia has all that, is light, slim, textured and ready to shoot at the touch of the shutter button.

And i also have 1VI in black since June 13 so i know how the phone is but the red color is looking very nice and it has 512 GB of internal storage which is a bonus on top of all the other features it offers like no other one . The iPhone 16:Pro Max and the S24 Ultra that means this 2 base models 256 GB versions are more expensive then the Xperia 1VI . The 16 Pro MaX cost you about 1950 US $ 512 GB the S24 Ultra about 1650 US $ 512GB and the Xperia 1VI red version 512 GB cost without contract 1453 so you can see this is quite a difference when you think about it so in the end you get more for you many with the Xperia 1VI .
I like the scarlet red but how does this colour exist when sony's official website states there are only 3 colours available (black, platinum silver & khaki green), was red specific to a certain region or discontinued or added later? Please can someone explain as i need a new device as my xperia 1 ii doesnt work in australia now. Sony didn't get inspiration from apple about the simple environmental packaging. They were the first!! Just like they were the first to do IPS ratinging (water resistant) and also USB-C . Sony intoduced this to the market and i know this because they're the only phone ive purchased for the last 15 yrs 🙌

screen resololution is not 4k but the screencast will be 4k, isn't it ? you can play a 4k video on it and have 4k video on your TV without rescale. output resolution is more important than screen resolution.
it felt like a downgrade from the V wich would be ok if they lowered the price too but its not justifiable anymore, i really like the V for the 4k display and 21:9 ratio wich was so unique even though the 4k was only active in specific scenarios it's a shame the downgrade with the price it launched hope they improve for the VII

This red Sony Xperia 1 VI is real ? Sony said it only be black, silver white and khaki green. This combination of black and red is perfect. I wished that Microsoft had made Microsoft Lumia 950 XL red, one of its the back cover red.

Sony got a lot of things right with this phone except for the price... Extended battery life is appreciated but lowering the spec of the display while maintaining the price is hard to justify
It doesn't make sense to wish that something doesn't drop in price, especially when we're talking about an expensive cell phone for most people's pockets.

Macro use manual focus slider u can even zoom futher from 120mm to over 300mm
You were on manual focus, and set to infinity when you are trying to shoot macro.

No use of the shutter button? Great benefits on focusing.
The back panel obviously glass because they made it to have texture so that's why the feeling isn't smooth as glass .

To be fair most thing we see on phone are fhd anyway unless watching video at 2k , but everyday scrolling through apps is Fhd.
