Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the tutorial and found the loaf cat so cute. I’m sure your creations will turn out amazing! 🥰
This pattern is ADORABLE! Currently working on my first one and plan to make many more. I have a question for making different sizes, would i just do more/less increases in the beginning? Would i need to do anything different for the ears, paws, and tail? Ive been crocheting for a while but have yet to experiment with diverging from patterns as written!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the pattern. Adjusting the size is a bit more complex than just adding or removing increases, as it affects the overall proportions. For the body, yes, you can try adding more increases for a larger size or reducing them for a smaller one. But for the ears, paws, and tail, you might need to tweak the pattern slightly to maintain the right proportions, especially if you're aiming for a balanced look. I’m also working on a smaller version of the loaf cat, so stay tuned for that pattern soon!
This is so great!! Im a beginner and have been able to follow along with your teaching. Im on my second cat. I must be doing something wrong though because my legs dont match up with the face both cats look like their head to cocked to the side, lol
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the tutorial and making your second cat! It sounds like the legs might just need a slight adjustment. You can try shifting them one stitch forward or backward to help align them better with the face. Sometimes yarn tension can also cause small variations, so adjusting your stitch placement should help. Keep going, and I’m sure your next one will be perfect!
Thanks for the loaf cat tutorial!❤ very cute :) otherwise, I hate that people are talking about you “copying” when clearly she made it herself with differences and you can understand by how all size cats look the same so she obviously made it to work for all sizes! And why are people even complaining about her “copying”? I have a bought version and now I regret it but on the side y’all are getting an amazing tutorial for free so why complain? Anyways thanks so much! Am I allowed to sell these at markets? I’ll give credits of course!
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I'm really happy you enjoyed the tutorial and appreciate your understanding. You are more than welcome to sell the products you make using this pattern at markets, and giving credit is very thoughtful of you. I hope your creations bring lots of joy!

Poonam, this video was enthralling! You are a very accomplished crocheter and I thank you for sharing this video. Currently, I’m working with much finer yarn making cute keychains, but I will enjoy working on this at a later time! So cute!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. It sounds exciting that you're making cute keychains with finer yarn! Whenever you try the loaf cat, I’d love to hear how it turns out. Take care and enjoy your projects!😊
Hello! I'm making your puppy pattern right now - it turning out sooo cute!! Do you have a pattern for the smaller loaf kitty shown at the beginning of your video?
Hello! I'm so happy to hear you're enjoying the puppy pattern! The smaller loaf kitty shown at the beginning of the video is actually made with the same pattern, just with thinner yarn and a smaller hook to adjust the size. But I have great news-I'll be releasing a dedicated tutorial for a mini loaf cat very soon, so stay tuned for that! Thanks for crocheting along with me!
I'm so glad you loved making it! The step-by-step instructions are included in the video itself. Just follow along, and you’ll have the written version right there on screen.
@@FAME_ART oh I know, i followed along with the written instructions on the screen, I just can’t always have my phone out to watch the video when making the cat. I just wasn’t sure if you had anything written out separate from the video.
I'm so glad to hear that your cat turned out well! Thank you for following along with my tutorial. It makes me happy to know it helped you create something you love!
Thank you so much for your kind words! If you use a weight 6 chenille yarn like I did, the final size of the loaf cat will be approximately 18 to 20 centimeters. I’m glad you enjoyed the tutorial!
Row 9: 21 SC, 1 bobble, 6 SC, 1 bobble, 10 SC only equals 39 total stitches when it's supposed to be 40... So what's the correct way to do that row? I love this pattern so far though!
Thank you so much for catching that! You're absolutely right-it should be 11 SC instead of 10 SC in Row 9, making it a total of 40 stitches. I'm glad you're enjoying the pattern, and I appreciate your understanding. Happy crocheting!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it! With the bulky chenille yarn, you generally don't need to secure the color change yarns together since the yarn tends to stay in place. However, if you want extra security, you can make a small knot where the colors change. It's totally up to you and your preference!
@@laraine1954 You're welcome! I used a bulky chenille yarn for the loaf cat, which is similar to Bernat Baby Blanket. It can be tricky to see the stitches with this type of yarn, so I recommend using a larger hook and working in good lighting. Hope that helps!
I’d love to see your version! You can share it with me on Instagram- instagram.com/fame_art_crochet?igsh=c21pYjh5NnZyNHV5 Facebook -facebook.com/FAME-ART-100742838645865/ I can’t wait to see your beautiful creation! 😊
Thanks o want to try this ❤ 🐈⬛ will you please make one with a color that is easy to see black and white are the hardest to see stitch placement , ( if you can )
Thank you for your interest! I understand that certain colors can make it harder to see the stitches. If you watch the video in the highest quality (you can change this in the RUclips settings by selecting a higher resolution), the stitch placement should be clearer. Let me know if this helps!
Thank you for noticing! There’s a typing mistake in the video for Round 9, which I’ve corrected in the description. Please refer to the description for the accurate pattern.
Thank you so much! 😊 I'm glad you liked the pattern. I used bulky chenille yarn for this project, which gives the loaf cat its soft and plush look. The brand I used is NestNHaven.
I made the smaller cat using the same pattern but with thinner yarn, which is why it's smaller. If you'd like to make a small cat using the same yarn in weight 5 or 6, I'll be uploading a tutorial soon to show how to adjust the pattern for that. Stay tuned!
For the ears, I made the slip stitch in the back bump at the base of the chain 1, not into the double crochet itself. I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further clarification.
Thank you for your question! When working on the cat's ears, I made 2 double crochets in the front loop of the stitch, which does create an increase, but only in the front loop. The back loop remains unworked at this point. In the next row, when we work into the remaining back loops, the stitch count stays at 40 because we haven't added any extra stitches there. That's why the stitch count remains 40 instead of 42. I hope this helps!
Thank you! I'm happy to hear you want to try it. I'm from India, and there are many online shops here where you can find similar yarn. I’m sure you’ll find some great options!
Thank you for your interest in making the loaf cat! I used approximately 150 grams of yarn and a 5.5 mm hook for this project. That sounds like such a lovely idea to make it look like your cat for your mom’s birthday! I’d love to see how it turns out.
@@FAME_ART Thank you so much for the quick response! Do you think a 6.0mm hook would work as well? Do you have anything where I can send you the results? I’d be happy to share it 😊
@@cat-pl7sj You're very welcome! Yes, a 6.0 mm hook should work just fine. I'd love to see your finished project! You can share your work with me on Instagram at @fame_art_crochet. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Thanks for your interest! I don’t have a written version available, but you’re welcome to write the pattern down as you follow along with the step-by-step instructions in the video. I kindly ask that you don’t share the pattern directly with others-please recommend this video instead if someone is interested!
I used about 100 grams of white yarn for this project, but the amount can vary depending on the thickness of your yarn. If you're using a similar yarn, that should be a good estimate!
Thank you for pointing that out! I’ve updated the pattern in the description to reflect the correct color sequence. Appreciate your keen observation! 😊
If you don’t mind ms asking you in cats ear you made 2 double crochet in stitch that means it is an increase so how does your stitch still 40 please tell as I’m stuck with 42 stitch count
Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@FAME_ARThi! I’m having the same problem I keep ending with a 42 stitch count for the cat ear section. For the cat ears 14:09 after you do the ch1 when you slip stitch it do you insert your hook in back loop of it? Thank you for the video!!
Thanks for your comment! For the cat ears, when I say 'double crochet, chain1, slip stitch, double crochet' it means that in one front loop stitch, you need to make 1 double crochet, then chain 1, slip stitch in the top of double crochet and then make another double crochet in the same front loop. This creates an increase only in the front loop. The back loop of those stitches is left unworked for now. In the next round, we'll work into those remaining back loops, so the stitch count stays at 40. I hope this clears things up!
Thank you for your comment! Whether you use yarn under or yarn over for a slip stitch, the result will be the same, so there's no need to worry. Both techniques work equally well for this pattern. Hope this helps!
I'm doing everything right on the ears, I'm following every stitch properly, but for some reason it always comes out like it has a clipped ear. Does anyone have any tips?
Hi Sicarius, it’s possible that the slip stitch is not being made correctly, which could be affecting the shape of the ear. I recommend watching the video at a slower speed and paying close attention; this will help you understand the process better. I hope this resolves your issue!
Hi there! I'm glad you like the loaf cat! Yes, you are welcome to sell the finished products made from this pattern. I'd appreciate it if you could credit 'Fame Art with Poonam' as the designer. Thanks for your support.
Thank you for pointing that out! The yarn is actually a dark gray, but sometimes the lighting can make it appear different on screen. I appreciate your understanding!
Hi! I got the yarn online from various shops that sell bulky chenille yarn. You can find similar types of yarn on most popular online stores if you search for chennile or blanket yarn. Hope that helps!
The yarn I used is actually classified as weight 5, but it's quite similar in thickness to a bulky weight 6. You can definitely use a weight 6 yarn for a similar result!
Thank you for bringing that up! I understand the confusion, but I want to clarify that this pattern is my original work. While I was inspired by the general look of loaf cat designs, including those by 'Handmade by Annie' and others, I developed this pattern myself through multiple trials to achieve the perfect shape and design. Annie's pattern is a paid version and distinct from mine. This tutorial is based on my own unique process from start to finish. I hope you enjoy creating it!
I checked row by row as I have Annie’s pattern and this one is not identical. It is like octo’s-there are literally thousands of octo patterns that are almost identical. Loaf cats are very plain in design…others are bound to be similar. The spots are representative of a particular cat…her spots start on different row, different stitches. Let’s enjoy the really well done tutorial as we do with other creators.
dear annie is not last person who can only creat, you think after annie no body can make this kind of things ? in future u wil see many more videos like that annie cant make so dont disturb other ppl ok
When I was doing the round 9 the bobble stitch were laying the right position so I had to modify the round 9 so instead of 21 white I made 22 and after that 1 bobble and than instead 6 white I made 7 white in between the bobble stitches and than 10 white
Thank you for sharing your experience! If you got the perfect shape with your adjustments, that's great. Crochet can be so flexible, and sometimes small changes work best for each person.
Hey there! I’ve included detailed, step-by-step instructions for every round right on the video screen. If you follow along, you'll find all the information from start to finish.
I put the speed on 0.25x and still didn't know how to do the ears 🥲, Is it like the bubble stitch? Can you explain the shortcuts what is the (hdc) and the (slst)?
@@khassiri16 Thank you for your comment! I’ve included the abbreviations on the screen before starting the loaf cat-HDC stands for half double crochet, and SLST means slip stitch. For the ears, they’re not like the bobble stitch, so it might help to review that part again. I recommend watching closely where I demonstrate these stitches. I hope this clears things up, and I’m here if you have any more questions!
@@FAME_ART Hi - I have a further question about the ears, as I am not sure WHERE/Which stitch you are slip stitching into? Even with the ear confusion, and the minor issue with Row 9 (is there a way you can add the corrected count to your description for further explanation for future viewers?), this has been such a SUPER FUN project!!! Can you share the yarn brand and size that you used? I've made two, but still not sure I did the ears correctly? No matter what, they are absolutely ADORABLE and I only wish they were a bit smaller (but still with bulky yarn...like a "mini" version) so that I could mass produce and leave out into the world as ROAKS! (Random Acts of Crochet Kindness) - I think ANYONE would be delighted to find one of these "in the wild" - Truly appreciate how well everything else was done in the video. So happy to have stumbled across your channel. I think the rose turtle will be my next project! TFS!!!! 🧶💖
@AuntCheezieCreatesStuff Hi! Thank you for your patience and for pointing out the areas where you needed clarification. For the ears, here's the exact stitch formation: In the front loop, make 1 half double crochet, in the next front loop, make a double crochet, chain 1, then slip stitch into the top back stitch of the double crochet. After that, make another double crochet in the same stitch, and finally, in the next front loop, make 1 half double crochet. As for Round 9, I'll add the corrected pattern of round 9 to the video description for future viewers to follow along more easily. The yarn I used is NestNHaven weight 6 chenille yarn. If you're aiming for a smaller version, you might want to try using a lighter weight yarn, which should help achieve a mini version while still keeping that bulky texture.I'm glad you enjoyed the project, and I can't wait to see your rose turtle! Thanks again for your support and enthusiasm. 😊
Thank you for your question! The amount of yarn you'll need depends on the thickness of the yarn you're using. If you're using a bulky yarn with a weight of 5-6, it will likely take around 120-150 grams to complete the loaf cat. If you're using a different yarn weight, the amount may vary. I hope it helps.
Thank you for your question! The yarn I used is labeled as a weight 5 in the product description, but I agree it feels more like a weight 6. The thickness can vary slightly with different brands. I hope this helps!
The crochet hook size is 5.5mm, which I’ve mentioned in the video. As for the tapestry needle, it’s a large one suitable for thick yarn, though it doesn’t have a specific size mentioned. I hope this helps!
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm glad you liked the loaf cat. Sewing the tail onto the body is a basic technique in amigurumi, and it does take a bit of practice. I recommend placing the tail where you want it and using a whip stitch to sew it securely. If you'd like, I can consider making a short video or including this technique in a future tutorial. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you so much! I'm glad your loaf cat turned out adorable. It’s always great to see others enjoy the pattern as much as I enjoyed creating it! 🧶🐾
You are a GREAT INSTRUCTOR. Thank you. I think I can finally make a cat!
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled to hear that you feel confident to make your own cat now. Happy crocheting, and I'd love to see how it turns out!
Ficou top...eu não tenho essa lã ..vou fazer com linha de crochê sou iniciante ❤
Obrigado! Tenho certeza de que sua versão com linha de crochê ficará maravilhosa. Boa sorte!
this tutorial was amazing ❤❤❤ everything was so clear
I'm so glad you found the tutorial clear! Bobble stitches can be tricky at first, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of them with practice. Keep going!

@@FAME_ART That's amazing! I love the bobble placement on your pattern - it's more aligned and symmetrical. Thank you again!

I loved making this. Thank you for such a clear tutorial ❤ by any chance, do you have a written version?
I'm so glad you loved making it! The step-by-step instructions are included in the video itself. Just follow along, and you’ll have the written version right there on screen.
@@FAME_ART oh I know, i followed along with the written instructions on the screen, I just can’t always have my phone out to watch the video when making the cat. I just wasn’t sure if you had anything written out separate from the video.

Te quedo lindo nueva seguidora 😀
¡Muchas gracias! Me alegra mucho que te haya gustado. ¡Bienvenida a mi canal!
I really liked the tutorial, what would be the final measurement of the cat in centimeters?💕
This is adorable thank you. Do you have to secure the colour change yarns together?
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it! With the bulky chenille yarn, you generally don't need to secure the color change yarns together since the yarn tends to stay in place. However, if you want extra security, you can make a small knot where the colors change. It's totally up to you and your preference!
@@FAME_ART Thank you so much - have a great day 😀
@@FAME_ART Thank you - which yarn do you use please - I'm using Bernat baby blanket but it is hard to see the stitches 😺
@@laraine1954 You're welcome! I used a bulky chenille yarn for the loaf cat, which is similar to Bernat Baby Blanket. It can be tricky to see the stitches with this type of yarn, so I recommend using a larger hook and working in good lighting. Hope that helps!

Help
Thank you for noticing! There’s a typing mistake in the video for Round 9, which I’ve corrected in the description. Please refer to the description for the accurate pattern.
Amazing pattern
Thank you so much! 😊 I'm glad you liked the pattern. I used bulky chenille yarn for this project, which gives the loaf cat its soft and plush look. The brand I used is NestNHaven.
How do i make the smaller kitty in the middle of the orange and pink cats? Same yarn.
I made the smaller cat using the same pattern but with thinner yarn, which is why it's smaller. If you'd like to make a small cat using the same yarn in weight 5 or 6, I'll be uploading a tutorial soon to show how to adjust the pattern for that. Stay tuned!
For the ears, I cannot understand where you slip stitch? Is it the little bump behind the stitches? Or is it the whole double crochet?
For the ears, I made the slip stitch in the back bump at the base of the chain 1, not into the double crochet itself. I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further clarification.
So after we finish the row with the ears, should we have 42 stitches?
Thank you for your question! When working on the cat's ears, I made 2 double crochets in the front loop of the stitch, which does create an increase, but only in the front loop. The back loop remains unworked at this point. In the next row, when we work into the remaining back loops, the stitch count stays at 40 because we haven't added any extra stitches there. That's why the stitch count remains 40 instead of 42. I hope this helps!
Wrote the pattern down so I can crochet on my trip without getting car sick from looking at my phone :)
That's awesome! I'm happy the pattern will keep you company on your trip. Enjoy your crochet time and safe travels!
Wow❤ I want to try this. Where are you from? From where you bought this yarn?
Thank you! I'm happy to hear you want to try it. I'm from India, and there are many online shops here where you can find similar yarn. I’m sure you’ll find some great options!
I can’t figure out the ears! Where am I slip stitching?
For the ears, I made the slip stitch in the back bump at the base of the chain 1, hope this helps!
Hi may i know the brand name of this yarn and where can i get safety eyes
Yarn brand name NestNHaven and you can buy safety eyes from Amazon.
Thank you so much❤
How much yarn and what hook size did you use? ❤ I want to make one that looks like my cat for my moms birthday!

@@FAME_ART Thank you, I’ll try it out! I will definitely send you a picture once I’m done ☺️💕
DO you fill the tail?
There's no need to fill the tail because the thick yarn gives it enough structure on its own. It holds its shape nicely without any stuffing!
Do you have this in written version anywhere?
Thanks for your interest! I don’t have a written version available, but you’re welcome to write the pattern down as you follow along with the step-by-step instructions in the video. I kindly ask that you don’t share the pattern directly with others-please recommend this video instead if someone is interested!
How many skein of white did you use
I used about 100 grams of white yarn for this project, but the amount can vary depending on the thickness of your yarn. If you're using a similar yarn, that should be a good estimate!
You corrected round 9 but the colors are off.
It should be 21 W, B green, 6 W. B green. 10 W... etc
Thank you for pointing that out! I’ve updated the pattern in the description to reflect the correct color sequence. Appreciate your keen observation! 😊
What is B green?
Thanks
You are most welcome!
If you don’t mind ms asking you in cats ear you made 2 double crochet in stitch that means it is an increase so how does your stitch still 40 please tell as I’m stuck with 42 stitch count
@@FAME_ARTthank you so much for your time to reply me back but it really means a lot to me
14:08 Shouldn't the yarn be over the hook for the second slst (second ear)?
Thank you for your comment! Whether you use yarn under or yarn over for a slip stitch, the result will be the same, so there's no need to worry. Both techniques work equally well for this pattern. Hope this helps!
@@FAME_ART No, thank you for the response! So far great tutorial, easy to follow! 🤗
@@FAME_ART will do, thank you!

Looks blue on utube, not gray. Could be lighting?
Thank you for pointing that out! The yarn is actually a dark gray, but sometimes the lighting can make it appear different on screen. I appreciate your understanding!
hey, where did you buy this yarn from?
Hi! I got the yarn online from various shops that sell bulky chenille yarn. You can find similar types of yarn on most popular online stores if you search for chennile or blanket yarn. Hope that helps!
What weight in yarn? 6 bulky?
The yarn I used is actually classified as weight 5, but it's quite similar in thickness to a bulky weight 6. You can definitely use a weight 6 yarn for a similar result!
What is the size of this cute cat 🐈??
The loaf cat is approximately 20 cm in size.
This is a pattern from Handmade by Annie @AnnieCarrawayArt
Just because it looks the same doesn't mean it is if you had the pattern you'd see that🥰
Annie looks like my sister but my father never know Annie's mom
dear annie is not last person who can only creat, you think after annie no body can make this kind of things ? in future u wil see many more videos like that annie cant make so dont disturb other ppl ok
@@FAME_ART that’s right
Can you pls tell me the size eyes????
Hi! Thanks for watching the video 😊. The eyes I used are 18 mm safety eyes, and I’ve mentioned it in the video as well.
Heey, could you please write the pattern cuz I'm confused of how many rows should I do
can I know, what is the size of the eyes?
The eyes are 18 mm in size. I’ve mentioned it in the video where I show the materials, but I’m happy to clarify here as well. 😊
@@FAME_ART thanks 😊
How many grams will it take
Thank you for your question! The amount of yarn you'll need depends on the thickness of the yarn you're using. If you're using a bulky yarn with a weight of 5-6, it will likely take around 120-150 grams to complete the loaf cat. If you're using a different yarn weight, the amount may vary. I hope it helps.
@@FAME_ART 🙏
Is this a 6 or 7 weight plush yarn?
Thank you for your question! The yarn I used is labeled as a weight 5 in the product description, but I agree it feels more like a weight 6. The thickness can vary slightly with different brands. I hope this helps!
@@FAME_ART I understand. Thank you. They are so cute and seem to be very popular. I have a 4 day fair coming up in a few weeks so will be making them.
What size is that needle
The crochet hook size is 5.5mm, which I’ve mentioned in the video. As for the tapestry needle, it’s a large one suitable for thick yarn, though it doesn’t have a specific size mentioned. I hope this helps!

Very cute loaf cat! Can you show how you sew on the tail?
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm glad you liked the loaf cat. Sewing the tail onto the body is a basic technique in amigurumi, and it does take a bit of practice.
