Because you count all the stitches for the ears after you made the ears. You should only count just the back stitches for the ears when you count. There are just 3 stitches per ear not 6 because you work in 3 front loops only NOT in 6 front loops. I hope it helps.

I've got the 30 stitches from Round 5, but Round 6 isn't adding up. I've now counted it out several times, and I'm getting more than 10 stitches after the 2nd ear. 10 sc, 1 stitch ear, 4 sc, 1 stitch ear, then about 14 leftover stitches.🤔
It's like math, e.g in round 2, (1 single crochet, 1 increase) is 1 set. Total 3 sts in 1 set. Work with the same pattern 5 more times . At the end you will have 18 sts in 1 round. The increase sts will have 2 single crochet in 1 sts, easy to recognize. If you can't recognize the stitch, you can put a mark.
The hdc goes into its own stitch, ( the dc,2tc,dc go together in the next stich) last hdc goes in next stitch.[There are brackets around the whole thing because it will be repeated] all in front loops

In round 15 i had to change from 2sc to 4sc to use the hdc puff stitch and 25sc to get to the next. I had 30 stitches nothing was changed

My 'join bumps' are off centre to the centre of the magic circle. Is this normal?
What is Join bump . I'm not sure what your means off center to the MR

I keep ending up with 36 stitches after round 6, not sure what I'm doing wrong, it says we should have 30 stitches after 6 and 7😒
There are no any increase stitches in round 6, it is same with round 5, total 30 stitches
