I have Adeptus Titanicus and the original Space Marine game. The Horus Heresy lore is in the rule books it’s all there basically. The books just fleshed it out to the max 😂
Good point! Hard to know whether they had started writing that section before they needed it for Titanicus though. It's likely it preceeded it as they had worked on Realm of Chaos for years by then, but it's also possible they decided to add that section to the book because of Adeptus Titanicus as it would have been strange if it wasn't mentioned there and a couple of months later it was written about in the Titanicus rulebook... Who knows. :)
@@EthnarchesThere’s also half a page on the heresy (called then the Inter-legionary Wars) in White Dwarf 99, from March of 88, as part of a Realms of Chaos preview. All the basics are there about nine months before Titanicus.
@danielglick Thank you, sure sounds like they worked on it already prior to Titanicus although I think it's still plausible it was triggered by them starting to work on Titanicus as they likely were working on it 9 months prior to release especially since it contains plastic models which take quite a bit longer to get into production.

I think this misses Realms of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness, which came out several months before Titanicus and has a whole section on the Horus Heresy.
