Not to read too much into it, but I feel like that represents the song *perfectly.* The mood the music creates is fairly intentionally split from the lyrics. It's been a while since I've looked up interpretations of the lyrics, but I think it has to do with representing the disconnect between the bullied powerless child (represented by the sombre theme of the lyrics) and his imagined grandeur as the merciless school shooter (represented by the up-beat, confident dance music, which is essentially him imagining himself in a scenario where he gets to feel powerful and in control for one short-lived final time in his life) being the same person.
I'm a 71 year old. I heard this 2 weeks ago for the first time and nearly fell out of my chair while dancing to it. I dance to it the way Popeye dances after taking his spinach. It's so tight and moody- dare I say much better than the originals. I listen to it twice a day instead of taking my medication.

Radiohead's song "Everything In It's Right Place" mixed with "Pumped Up Kicks". This is so unique... but so good. I love this. Thank you for creating such a match up. Never would've expected such two bands to mix so well :)
I am a truck driver , just know I work nights and blast your music as loud as the stereo will go all around the u.k , the people need to hear these jams but this one .... wow .xx much love to the band.
Eh, i'm not a fan of this cover. Her style of singing comes off very monotone and lacks emotion that the original had. I Don't hate it, but definitely heard other covers that did this song way more justice.
Well I'm 73 (so old) - but so good - as usual always better that the original - it never stops - they are the best. Thank you PomplamooseMisic - It's love at first hear.
I love Jack's opening--SO beautiful. This is another hit and run that i keep on repeat because my mind is too small! Damn-There is a great contrast between these two songs--so how does it sound like ONE song. Nataly's voice has this perfect 'squeak' that has my jaw and heart drop. So fine. Wonderful build up then BAM again! REPEAT!
Nataly..... WOW..... this is my favorite vocal performance of yours so far. Sooo damn great!! And Jack and the rest of you who I don't know.... AMAZING WORK. This is beautiful.
Holy shit. When did Thom Yorke's voice go up a couple octaves? I mean, seriously, the opening verse sounds EXACTLY like a Radiohead song. And then it goes full Pomplamoose in the chorus. I *LOVE* this song. It just checks all the "holy shit this song is awesome" boxes. How can Jack's piano sound both so perfectly Radiohead and so perfectly Pomplamoose without changing?!?
Very impressive "soft voice" by all the singers. They sound fantastic together! And those guys are really making love to their instruments, keep up the beautiful work all of you!
I just discovered this band, literally through my daughter’s dance recital. There’s something utterly differently and pure happening here. Just when you think music is done and over a new and deeper level of honesty breaks through. Just as it always does. This gives me hope.
Woke up to this playing in my head -- a dark & tantalizing earworm. I love this mashup. For such a tragic & terrifying topic, the music & lyrics are almost intoxicating. Good on ya, Pomplamoose!
The shared look between Jack, Sarab, and Nick @ 0:58 is priceless. Like they know they're about to tell us all a big secret. And they were right! Amazing track everyone, thank you!
It's so great how you looking at each other one by one like "That's it, man.". Especially in the Radiohead part, really dope. Nice how you keep the connection whipe sitting like this with your band.
I keep winding up on this video. I've watched a lot of Pomplamoose stuff but this particular one keeps coming up in my feed and I watch it every time. Bass player looks SO satisfied with what's happening at any given moment and I think that is one of the major appeals for me, same for KB/Patreon owner Jack Conte. Thanks for sharing this - even if it was over 2 years ago!
My favourite song from Radiohead, mixed so smoothly, and that Jack's energy here and in Scary Packets. You guys are just rocking. My favourite people. Also that voice which feels like just so good!
hes always like that, the man clearly loves making music. that, and hes the founder and CEO of Pateron, and married to the Nataly Dawn, the blonde lead singer. I'd be happy too.
It's been a year I always come back to this mashup (every week). You did a very good job guys. You always do a good job in all your mashups, but this one especially... The way to sing, the drum kit, the base, the keyboard... Love it. Greetings from France xxx

The way you sing is so inspiring. I always feel like the way I choose to accapella a song was weird but this makes me feel more confident in my singing
Ok I'm listening thinking so far its kind of cool, kind of slow, then all of a sudden everything is kicked up a notch and then wow! Another blast of energy comes out of nowhere and now I found my self really getting into this song. Great job, love watching you all really get into the moment! I just bought this on iTunes and its great but not as much as watching you guys play.
Nataly has one of the few voices that I could listen to for hours. Very soft, but at the same time just as engaging and just the right edge to not come across as drowsy.

Know nothing about him and no clue if his drumming is intellectual, primal, or both. Fuqing amazing is what it is.
That side chaining in the bridge section was so good.
I love the contrast of the backrow and how cool they are and they can feel the music with their eyes closed and the front row just jamming
Love seeing the keyboardist and bassist just absolutely loving what they do. Whole band is great of course.
I turned 92 today and heard this for the first time. What a nice birthday present!
Happy Birthday!

I wonder if I'll ever live that long
Alan please take your medication
Alan this is important you can't not take your medication
Alan you cant just dance instead of taking medication its not healthy
Those backing vocals are just PERFECT! Amazing!
I was just going to leave the same comment. . .
Ha.. drummer rolls the stick after every hit in his left hand. Can't unsee it now!
but only when he makes a single hit....if his left hand is busier, he doesn't appear to roll the stick.
I think it s his own technique to keep the rythmn
It prevents too much wear on one side of the stick
Oh god
Damn you!
LOVE how that whole front row is SO ENTHUSIASTIC!
I haven't seen it yet, but knowing this song I somehow doubt that that is the fitting attitude with this subject matter.
I love how into it the pianist gets.
That's Jack Conte, he is the CEO of Patreon, and is married to Nataly which is the blond girl in the middle.

Radiohead's song "Everything In It's Right Place" mixed with "Pumped Up Kicks". This is so unique... but so good. I love this. Thank you for creating such a match up. Never would've expected such two bands to mix so well :)
