My best friend went to the Rolling Stones concert this past weekend at Allegiant and stayed at The Rio. He said that security scanned hotel keys before you enter the elevator to the towers and were knocking on doors that they found slightly open during regular floor patrols. Good to hear Rio is taking safety seriously.
Just stayed at the Trump Hotel for 1 night. As I was waiting for the Bellman and I opened my door, I saw Security in the hallway. Security told me the IPad in his hand lets them know when a door has been opened and not closed. I was impressed.
I’ve gone through the airport with 20k and obviously had it in my carry on. Not a problem, it’s only for international travel that you need to claim over 10k
Absolutely increase the limit to a minimum of $6,300 but I am for the $9,999 threshold! The games are so much different then when the original threshold was set!! I had to file a tax return in Louisiana this year and will again next year because I've hit jackpots there but live in Texas! I also think some of the Casino's intentionally payout slowly to keep you playing in the Casino while you wait for your hand pay! Then some expect a tip!
That $10,000 cash reporting at the airport is for international travel only. There isn’t a cash limit on domestic travel, though the TSA can pull you over to ask why you are carrying such a large sum. “I’m going to Vegas, duh.” is the appropriate answer.
To be fair there have been many reports of the DEA approaching flyers just as they're boarding asking how much cash an individual is carrying and seizing large amounts when they find it. They will approach asking if they can do a quick search and most people assume they're TSA and allow it. The DEA has no authority to force random travelers to allow a search of thier person or belongings. The story I saw about this focused mostly on Atlanta Hartsfield. Now if it were me and they told me they were any agency but TSA or local I'd tell them to get lost. Then they threaten to bring in a drug/currency detection dog. Again, I'd say bring the dog or get lost. The way they do this just as people are boarding makes people fear they may miss thier flight unless they allow a "quick" search. Don't make the mistake of allowing a search regardless of whether you're carrying large sums. If they don't have a warrant or can articulate reasonable suspicion of a crime tell them to piss off.
I was at the airport. My friend saw a woman hit an $18,000 jackpot at the airport. They were paying her in cash and told her they pay by check for only $20,000 and up.
I did watch that video with Jossel, and because of him, I'm applying for employment at the Plaza when I move back to Vegas. BRING BACK THE GOOD OL' DAY'S!!!!

I dealt craps at the Sands Casino in Atlantic City and we had the "mini craps" table which I occasionally dealt at. The table was almost always full with people who were probably more curious about it rather than serious about gambling. It was extra pressure as a dealer cause you were responsible for not just dealing but also the accountability of the money coming in but also the proper count in the float.
My thing with the Ballys at the ballpark deal was that yes there will be a casino there attached to it at some point. The question is whether Ballys will ultimately be the operator or will they either get usurped by another operator/bail out of the project. With a mixture of the troubles they have getting their permanent Chicago casino built, the lingering debt hold they have, and the fact that interest rates look to remain high for the rest of the year (adding complications to future financing), I just don't see how Ballys is gonna work out long term.
I’ve seen the Postcard from Earth movie twice, mainly to take others to see it, not for me wanting to see it again. I will wait for another movie, and not go again. Also I like drinking during concerts, but I kinda worry about leaning too far forward if I am drinking too much. Correct but $10K is also the amount for suspicious activity reports at the bank. It’s a number that draws attention and having that much cash can cause issues even when flying domestically.

Please have that $1199 W2 changed !! If the casinos realize how much money they're losing while people are sitting there waiting for the whole process to play out ( 20 minutes or more) maybe they can put some pressure on somehow...... Just a thought....
I’ve traveled extensively and no way would I trust checked luggage. Still, someone needs to explain custody and missing money (TSA and airline company)
I am so pleased that the El Cortez is being upgraded. That is fantastic news. As the Strip becomes more and more unaffordable for many people it is great that downtown can be cleaned up, improved, and remodeled to appeal to people who like clean and newer but cannot afford Strip prices. Plus, if the F1 is going to disrupt the Strip again and again this may send some people to downtown to escape that traffic nightmare. BTW, a full sized craps table uses 4 dealers (3 on the game and 1 on break) plus one supervisor. A tub dice table uses 1 dealer (plus a relief dealer who is breaking 3 tables for example, one craps and two blackjack games) and probably one supervisor who is watching multiple games. This probably helps in small casinos who need to keep payroll down especially on the graveyard shift.
Please keep us posted on the w2 situation. It’s the exact reason I don’t want jackpots anymore. I had to pay a lot of taxes because it raises your total income and that raises the % of what you owe😡
They should just replay previous concerts - I'd totally pay $50 to see the U2 video again but no interest in seeing the Postcards video which after to subtract the intro and outro was only 45 minutes for almost a $100 after the usual ridiculous fees.
What the people who run the shere should persuade the surviving members of Led Zrppelin to do some show there. The demand for tickets would really be out there!!!
No form for domestic flying. " there is no limit to how much money you can take with you on domestic flights, but you should be prepared to answer the TSA questions if carrying a large sum of cash with you."
The $10,000 limit applies to international travel. For domestic there's no limit and TSA has no right to confiscate your possessions. They could of course detain you until law enforcement officers show up.
If you keep the W2G or bank withdraw slip with the cash there is absolutely no issue, and there are no laws regarding flying with cash domestically (if you fly internationally with cash $10K or more then you have to declare it). I fly back and forth to Vegas with cash all the time with no issue. However, it should always be in your personal carry on, and never in checked baggage.
The golden nugget in Laughlin has a short craps table, it’s not that short like 4 queens, but short enough that everyone was throwing the dice way off the table every other roll lol. I’ve seen that one at 4 queens, and yea doesn’t look appealing at all.
i believe you are wrong about putting more than $10,000 in your baggage - there is no rule against it for domestic flights (you must declare it for international flights according to google (And yes I have heard about the confiscations but on International flights not domestic). That said, yes, I agree, why would you put it in the checked baggage - either cary it in your purse/carry-on or deposit it before flying (a hassle if you are there for a short visit, But I wonder if the casino would give you a check instead?)
I hope that El Cortez Teal room is the one that's being redone and not what its going to look like because... wow that is a hideous design. Looks like a 1950s waiting room with a bed.
1. MGM should buy the rights to Ballys land, as everything around there are already MGM properties. I’m sure MGM is already thinking about it. 2. You don’t have to declare any amount of $10,000 to fly domestically, only international flights. I regularly take $11,000-$15,000 to Vegas 3 times a year and not once has any airport security questioned me about it. It’s in my carry-on bag and with me at all times.
The overreach of this government stealing people’s money at airports is despicable. I can’t believe Americans just accept this level of criminality from our government. If it’s OUR money we should have every right to travel with it if we please.
I had $8k in my pocket when I went through TSA. I always hear empty your pockets, so I put my 8k in the coin tray to go through. The TSA person said " you can put that back in your pocket" I said thank you. It was nice to see Christian Bale (Batman) interview the CEO of the Plaza.
I have had them tell me to hold it in my hand while going through the scanner. We have seen TSA people stealing from tubs etc. over the last year or two so probably the best way to do it.
Raising the W2-G minimum should pass this time because they have little opposition and it's been the same $1200 since the 1970's when it was enacted. Maybe Bally's could partner with Wynn much like Boyd and MGM did with Borgata in AC. Wynn seems to do the best when it comes to innovation and swanky hotel casinos.
You only need to claim $10,000+ in cash if you’re flying internationally. You need to claim if you’re brining in $10k. Flying with $10k within the States is risky because of Civil Forfeiture which is basically the cops or DEA legally stealing your money.
exactly. i had 3 times i was going through tsa from Vegas with 20-30k on me where I had some child with a tsa badge telling me I had to declare more than 10k on my flight. all 3 times I asked them what country Laguardia or Newark were in. once he grumbled and told me to go. twice they got some supervisor who basically told him he's an idiot.
That woman thought she could just bypass some scrutiny if she put her money into her luggage! But no. That didn’t work. Never ever ever ever put anything valuable into your checked in luggage. They X-Ray those pieces. At another location. Then when they see something valuable they open it and take it. A bunch of thieves working for the airlines. They really need to crack down on this crap. Cameras etc. Maybe the supervisors are in on it too. Human greed! Once again. Greed! 🙄😵💫😬😖
Okay, why didn't that lady deposit here winnings to her bank? I assume there are banks everywhere in Vegas that she can deposit her money to before leaving Vegas. Or she can just open an account at US Bank or where ever and deposit her winnings. I guess some people just aren't that bright.

Moral of the story is don’t fly spirit airlines
They should just replay previous concerts - I'd totally pay $50 to see the U2 video again but no interest in seeing the Postcards video which after to subtract the intro and outro was only 45 minutes for almost a $100 after the usual ridiculous fees.
As an accountant once told me, Gambling Winnings paperwork is useles, she has never seen a positive win loss statement unless the person won millions.
I live 30 miles from Los Angeles had to go
Somewhere in the desert to see them cause good ole LA with it light pollution. Thank you smog and pollution
Glad you got to see them!
Thanks - my mistake
Spaceport???! Someone has Star Wars on their brain! That’s so far off. It’s crazy. 😂
The mirage
The $10K rule is international flights only. That limit doesn’t apply to domestic flights.
Maybe a resident DJ performing at The Sphere??
The $10,000 limit applies to international travel. For domestic there's no limit and TSA has no right to confiscate your possessions. They could of course detain you until law enforcement officers show up.
If you keep the W2G or bank withdraw slip with the cash there is absolutely no issue, and there are no laws regarding flying with cash domestically (if you fly internationally with cash $10K or more then you have to declare it). I fly back and forth to Vegas with cash all the time with no issue. However, it should always be in your personal carry on, and never in checked baggage.
The problem is the DEA work airports too and if the TSA tips them off that you're carrying a large sum they can take it.
The golden nugget in Laughlin has a short craps table, it’s not that short like 4 queens, but short enough that everyone was throwing the dice way off the table every other roll lol.
I’ve seen that one at 4 queens, and yea doesn’t look appealing at all.
Laughlin’s Golden Nugget is kind of dark inside and low ceiling because the casino is on the second floor street level.
You don't have to report money when flying domestic.
Tub craps is fine - same game ..
i believe you are wrong about putting more than $10,000 in your baggage - there is no rule against it for domestic flights (you must declare it for international flights according to google (And yes I have heard about the confiscations but on International flights not domestic).
You could travel with any amount you want if in the USA if you travel out of the country you have to claim it
$10000 rule only applies to international flights.....You do not need to declare any amount of cash on a domestic flight.
Fyi, the 10 K rule you only declare on international flights, not domestic,
I am gonna be ordering a rip cap thats what I know!
The overreach of this government stealing people’s money at airports is despicable. I can’t believe Americans just accept this level of criminality from our government. If it’s OUR money we should have every right to travel with it if we please.
Just like we tolerate property taxes etc. lockdowns, face diapers. Brave new world. They will care when it's too late.
What are you talking about?
@@sdguy1234 The war on drugs. Money can be seized it is automatically treated as drug money. You have to go to court to prove it isn't.
@@markostermann6632 I always leave it in my pocket if they ask me to put it in the tray i refuse and hold it in my hand
Tubs craps! Won several times at Golden Nugget and enjoyed the babes in swim suits.
Great show
8:43 … pop, Shawn. It’s pop. Not soda!
Use Turbo Tax and it’s easy to write down wins.
I’m missing a Chris Angel reference. I think I’m going through withdrawal.
Costly mistake.
It can be affected by where you live. For example, we don’t have Chase, US Bank, Wells Fargo or Bank of America here in Hawaii. I would definitely take a large jackpot payment in a check.
You guys didn't know Dead and Company played the sphere?
