The big bet was unfair in favour of the person taking the 9 to 1 odds. 10000*0.1-1000*0.9 = 100. A fair payout would be 9000, so that if this bet was done continuously it would average to 0 by the law of large numbers.

This type of gambling is a lot less unhealthy imo than like casino gambling as long as you gamble with amounts you are willing to lose. Gambling at a regular casino is a game where the more you play the more likely you are to lose money, gambling in this fashion isn't like that and on average you will trend towards 0 net gain/loss.

So if reckful picks one number from 1 to 10 it leaves miz with 9 winning numbers. Miz gets 1000 every time he hits and loses 10000 when he doesnt, so lets do the math.. If we roll 100 times miz is expected to win 90 times and reckful 10 -> 90*1000$ = +90000 and 10*10000=-100000$ -> +90000-100000=-10000$ -> -10000$/100 = -100$ miz loses 100$ every time he rolls. So reckful will win a shit ton of money in the long run

The easier way to do this: he has a 0.9 probability of getting +1000 and a 0.1 probability of -10000. Hence the expected value of the roll is 0.9*1000+0.1*(-10000) = -100.
Too bad they didn't play this to infinity. He should've done it with 50$ to 500$ bets, he'd have more bets and see effects on his returns within 10-15 rolls instead of 3 rolls and he is done with it.
yep you are 100% correct. when the event probability is 1/10 the payout odds need to be 9-to-1 to make it 0 EV (mizkif should pay $9k on loss). the bet they did was +$100/bet EV for reckful - reckful actually only needs to win 1/11 times to be even.

1000:10000 odds which is 10%, just like the chance to roll the right number 1-10, this is just simple math. Statistically losing 1k doesn't matter whatsoever because it will end up in Reckfuls favor if you'd play it endlessly. He was just having fun because if he would've won before being 10k down, he would've 100% walked away with ez money and get to see Miz flip his shit :D

Reckful just wanted to have friends and it seemed like alot of people just tagged along since reckful had a ton of viewers. Reckful even said you haven't come over once since this happened (even though it was only 4 days, reckful was incredibly lonely, he talked about wanting friends over almost every stream it seemed.

i used to love the real Reckful without shrooms everyday, i feel like he lost his hope that he can make it alive without any substances. He constantly tries to justify things he does, also this gambling game, why would someone care about the fake reactions of some other streamer, most of the time Mizkif doesn't want to hang out with him, and then Reckful apologize that he shouldn't pressure him on stream, but he contradict himself when he goes on and on with peer pressure.
