it depends on the story. im a guy and i would happily play as big mom from one piece in a video game cause her weight allows for more powerful attacks.
My wife told me that often! We met up and found out we both play WoW in Vanilla. At 1st, when she saw I was playing a paladin female dwarf as main character, she was disappointed. I dunno who said it but this game really does look like a fake video game a kid character in a movie would be playing when his Mom yells at him to go take out the trash
@seductiveraven4895 Attractive means appealing or pleasing to the eye to look at. It's like a beautiful scenery or cool car. No one is saying to bimbofy every female character. The problem a lot of these new games are trying to go beyond the need to uglify characters like what they did with Kay Vess.
@@bobdole4093 i wouldn't trust the robot if it came with pronouns in the bio, even if it was programmed as a nanny. I wouldn't trust the company that made they/them at all with that design policy. I know what they cheer for.
They don't want the male gaze, but it's not just about that. They seem to forget that all the male characters are designed with unrealistic beauty standards as well. No male has ever complained. Im an overweight 45 year old black dude. The last character I'm picking is one "I see myself in." They fug?!? I'm going for the hot black ninja chick with baby hairs.
I think people talk about the male gaze without knowing what it actually is. Male gaze is a design philosophy not a perspective. It's not just applied to what women in the game look like it's applied to everything in the game. So, yeah, that philosophy applies to what the male characters in the game looks like too. It's either sexual appeal or power fantasy. Male fantasy. Yeah of course no male has ever complained. It was all made for them. That is what the person who coined it was talking about. The problem with the Male Gaze theory is that any attempt to discover an alternative version is compared to the male gaze. And some assumption that you can find the female gaze starting with what men like and moving away from it. That is what some people have tried to do. And so you end up thinking women don't like fantasy they like realism. And women who like fantasy are just part of the patriarchy or some shit. It's still Male Gaze because it's the thing everything uses as the foundation to compare everything against. But here's an idea: there's no such thing as Male Gaze everybody likes fantasy. It's just an old stale feminist theory anyway.
i want to play the most badass characters to ever exist, like Ryu Hayabusa from ninja gaiden. Peak form, rarely speaks and just destroys everyone that fights him. it's that simple.
Personally I think his first redesign is the best one. Even the outfit showing more skin can be seen as a mix of sexiness and utility as an acrobatic character would want maximum freedom of movement, but the character also looks like someone who *wants* to be seen, someone loud and egotistical who wants to look good while wrecking shit and wants everyone to know it was her. The only thing that's potentially problematic are the giant hoop earrings that can be a liability in combat if they got grabbed or caught on something, but you can spin it as her being so skilled and confident that she can wear something purely for aesthetics without giving you a chance to exploit it. The other two I have some issues with.
Agreed. The first one is perfect, She has the build to run and she has running shoes. 👍 I'm not a fan of the second one. High heals and no armor would end up killing her fast. She also looks like a swimmer not someone constantly lifting a canon. Third one is still ugly. I can't really say anything else because there's no visual indicator of his role. He has NPC vibes though.
The first redesign has that cocky, arrogant, but oddly charismatic character that is fun to play and fun to see in action I personally would cover up the exposed skin area with a different kind of material in a complementary/neutral color, but otherwise, the redesign is so perfect
@tamaratoth8326 What are you on bro!?, The second one is ultra hot and the third one looks 1000 times cooler than the original. You are entitled to your own opinion but in the end video games are supposed to be art so does it matter if it's unrealistic? 😂
In the late 2000s, Dove (the soap company) tried TV ads called "true beauty ad series" with +sized models of various demographics. Sales went down, and it wasn't just bc of the post 2008 econ crash, it was bc women instinctively don't want to associate themselves with "low beauty" even when they themselves looked like those +sized models.
They're still at it, still promoting obesity. They probably thought that more skin equal more soap needed = more money earned but they left out key part of the equasion, time. Fat people don't live that long and what you gained from the square footage of the person you lost it on the longevity of the person plus as you said nobody wants to be associated with the obesity promoting company.
The current version of that is a feminist proclaiming transers are women with absolute conviction, then immediately being outraged when compared to one 😄
To add to that point, last June I went with my dad to a mall in the Philippines, and we walked past a row of these Western luxury brand stores with models on their walls, posing with the clothes. Dad was like, "anak, uso na ba ang pangit sa America?" (son, is ugly now a fad in America?) and I just laughed. Especially with the next store showing a fat chick in a dress.
On the Amari redo: lack of chest armor is immersion breaking for me. Lacy bras don’t stop bullets. If she’s wearing armor everywhere else, she should be wearing it on her torso. Make it sleek, but put it there.
It's very anime. She looks like she came from 90s anime. That helmet especially reminds me of some characters. Not saying it's suddenly a brilliant design but it feels very nostalgic to me.
But none of the outfits stop bullets. I work in construction and safety equipment will stop unintentional mishaps, but a bullet will pass through boots, belts, and most any everyday clothing. What these characters are doing it doesn't matter what they are wearing unless they are in Gears of War armor, basically
6:44 everything concord did to the green armored thing is ridiculous. The voice, lipstick, pose, armor They even added a little flag on top, like "this isnt ridiculous enough, we need a tiny flag on this trash"
@@NighteyesJP Oh no his redesign on that one is pretty bad as well but its better. Its just not good. The helmet shape is throwing off along with the bionic limbs. An armored suit like ironman would of been a better direction to go. His first one was pretty solid for concept art to branch from though.
@@NighteyesJP yes exactly. These redesigns are something you'd see in a porn parody. They're just as bad as the original but on the other end of the spectrum
Dudes also like to play the good looking dudes. They use the female models to complain and gloss over how dudes like to play the hot looking dudes too.
It wouldn't even be bad if they had attractive characters in the roster to balance out the ugly ones and used both types in the marketing material. It would have a greater appeal and players could decide what they want to play as.
Exactly. There's no way to convince executives with actual market experience to greenlight this. They themselves need to believe in the potential of this, meaning they themselves are woke. This is also why they double-down failure after failure. They believe in The Cause, so they keep trying in the hopes that their efforts pay off. It's just sad, man.
The funniest part is that in his pinned comment on his video, he says that he did this in 2 days just for a bit after work. Which he also is why he cut corners on the guns. But 2 days vs 8 years is crazy lmao
That's the best part. These redesigns really aren't all that great, either. But that just goes to show just how impressively BAD the official designs are. Even a basic, quick and dirty, C grade design looks like the coolest character ever next to the F- designs of the actual game.
"Dude. I've been meaning to talk to you. You've gained 300 pounds in the last 4 months. You look... Just... Awful" "oh, no, dude. I'm not being lazy. I'm just cosplaying Concord at Comicon next week"
"women don't like playing ugly, fat characters either" - this 100%. My own wife loves sexy characters in video games. When she played WoW, she would ALWAYS transmog her toons to look good. That being said, I don't know if their shirts need to be open...but then again it could be called body-shaming if someone said they had to cover up just because they're women... 🤷♂
I mean the tank should just have full armor, I agree with that! The original Widow from Overwatch had a deep cut top which really suited the character but OW in general does very good designs.
in phantasy star you can usually tell who the female players are because of the way they make their characters look. definitely beautiful but in an interesting, almost "hyper beauty" way. guys tend to make characters look like women they are attracted to which is honestly mostly just average/above average looking girls, but the female players make women that they want to BE with those "impossible beauty standards."
Honestly it felt like the design was purposefully polar opposite of the actual design. As for putting it into a game, It's not gonna be my first pick.. it's better but it's also.. not particularly appealing either.. It just doesn't look like someone drew lizzo into a C-grade halloween TMNT outfit..
Part of that is also something that goes back to the general "Boy Vs Girl" play pattern thing that a lot of marketing agencies figured out decades ago before idiots started insisting that it doesn't work. Women tend to play more into the role itself, more of the extension of self...an idealized version of themselves. Boys tend to be more of the directing the events and more on the actual characters. It's one of the things with dolls and the stories told by the kids compared to boys with action figures and what comes up there... With a lot of roleplay and similar things, those tend to converge a lot more in what the more normal people want, the girls want a cool character that makes them feel like a bombshell badass, boys tend to view the action as part of it.
@@lanycera Okay Sion from League is a Tank and he wears a should padding only. Oh? He's a corpse, fine. What about Braum? All he's got is his door shield. He's shirtless and hails from the coldest country in the lore. Tanks don't _need_ to be decked out in armor. Just having a strong body will do as well.
Legit, that Amari redesign didn't even need the open deepcut, happy its there but its already so much more vibrant, the middle part could have still been armor and it would have been good solely on the contrasting colors and better shape language.
I agree, either have it full armored or have it like the skinsuit like Samus with armor attachments on top. However if anything, I feel like that open deepcut was just an unnecessary (but somewhat necessary) mockery of the original design.
Just imagine that in loading screens, and Even on the safe area before mission starts, she wears the suit "Open", like in the redesign. But just before "the Gates Open", she zips up the battlesuit, as in "Ok, let's do this!!" Attitude. That would be cool, iconic, and players would purposely watch that action every single game.
@@Zack_Zander imo it's a polar opposite of.. Amari's? design.. game's so boring I just heard the name and already forgot. Ingame Amari is covered so severely it looks like she's wearing 3 or 4 gambesons, under a bra strap with a chunk of metal taped to her chest.. The deep V cut is about as exposed as you can get while having something on that someone could call a shirt.
All it needed was a big bulky waist piece like you see in monster hunter armor sets, some modest/lean armor for the upper body, and a helmet that looks less like a gundam. Easy feminine tank look
It's funny that they modeled a character after a real life transperson, and they manage to make the player feel like something is off about this character, like she doesn't "pass" and people aren't sure why. If I were that transperson, I would be extremely self-conscious that the art designer did that, because that's how they see me and they also believe that I don't pass. They could have easily just made a hot girl character and say it's trans, but they went the progressive route and it would be a mockery in any other context. If you look at any drawn avatars a trans person uses, they never make the avatar true to how they look.

same kind of devs that can't (don't want?) to create in-game character that resembles real-life model it's based on? which is not a issue with male models?
No gamer is like: "Yeah, I want my in-game character to be ugly". Games are a fantasy-world and in that world people want generally want to be as bad-ass as possible and that also includes looks.
@Zionswasd ugly characters like gragas from LoL and roadhog can work because they own it and come out with their own aesthetic due to it. Here? It's ugly characters trying their best to look hot or attractive, but it fails on a fundamental level.
And the characters are average looking at best but they're GREAT CHARACTERS with GREAT PERSONALITIES! I don't understand how difficult that is to developers.
I'm gonna be one of those people and say that it's a bit bland. Mostly because once again its some dude is creating female characters with their vital organs exposed solely for visual appeal, meanwhile the male character actually gets more reasonable non-revealing clothing. It happens _every_ time and it's so basic. Either make _both_ revealing or none of them. Now go and throw tomatoes at me or whatever.
@@lavishlyvice why make both revealing or not? you realize these games have skins right? like a ton of them? you make a "non-revealing" character and in the first battle-pass you'll have a high school mini skirt skin, be real with yourself. i can see a lot of valid criticism for his designs here but your revealing argument is just dumb. like i can't make a chick in a mech-suit and a shirtless gigachad in the same game because what? they both need to be revealing or not? wtf is even that logic.
5:40 "For male-gaze" ? As women i can assure you that i lost count for thirsting to Kafka, Jingliu, Acheron. I am happy for drawing, cosplaying, buying their merch and i am not alone many girls love gaze at pretty with big boob and ass character.
Yeah remind me about twitter calling Sono Bisque Doll manga is harmful for women because Male Gaze but when they found out author is women they start calling her as traitor.
The only problem I see is that his 2nd design is not very on theme. He envision her to be a soldier for some galactic empire, but her outfit is not a uniform and it have too much fabric not enough armour to protect her vital organs.
1st and 3rd design are okay,, with the 1st being great. but they all resemble the finals, which is not that great. 2nd design is almost good, despite resembling jax from mortal kombat. a color swap between the silver and gold armor parts could improve it as well as the removal of those pointy things on the shoulders. then, the small reg flag in the original design could become a massive, giant flag she carries on her back that shows her size and strength.
He could add some chest armor and still make her look hot AF. But he said it himself, the design is more of an augmented legs and hands rather than a big chuncky armor.
it's amazing how both artists and ai image generators stopped fighting for a moment and joined hands in unity to dance a joyful polka on Concord's grave
People get upset about the body standards of video game characters but what do you expect someone who can jump 15 feet in the air and do a triple backflip to look like? They definitely aren't heavy set. They're rightly so built like Olympic level athletes.
1st Character. 9/10. The jacket's shoulder pads don't make sense in terms of mobility. 2nd Character. 5/10. Very attractive, but easy to kill if she's meant to be a tank. Her vital organs are exposed. 10/10 would pick over the original. 3rd Character. 10/10. Yup. Waaay cooler.
He should give "Captain Amari" an oversized shield on the left shoulder so when she's postured in a firing stance she's covered, but a sitting duck from any other angle.
Yes, I did notice that Overwatch used a lot of national stereotypes when designing the characters. Genji. Japanese. So of course he loves swords and throwing stars. DUH. Mei. Chinese. So she builds walls. Pharah. Arab. So of course she has a bazooka. Roadhog and Junkrat. Australians. So naturally they look like they came out of a Mad Max movie. Like imagine Overwatch adding a Vietnamese character. You can bet he can dig holes and go inside them and become invisible while stationary. Or a Romanian character who can steal the ammo from the opponent, making them unable to reload for 5 seconds.
90% of the OG cast are stereotypes Reinhardt: German *tank* (c'mon) Soldier 76: The "American Soldier" Torb: Swedish dwarf Widdow: Retreats as soon as danger gets close Mercy: ... Red. Cross. Bruh. And also, they DID add Venture. A mexican character, who digs tunnels ...
The first concept art gives me this "Ooohh... you are so sweet... NOW CALL ME SUGAR ONE MORE TIME AND I WILL CUT DOWN YOUR THROAT... understood?" and i fricking love it, is like the type of vibes that this character should give
just a point i wanted to make, if you're gonna recruit for a death game where you run around throwing stuff or shooting people, you will WANT to recruit FIT and HEALTHY people since they will, as i said, literally be running around killing other people, and they just SO HAPPEN to be attractive AS A RESULT of being fit and healthy.
You can have oversized or non-typical female designs without having them be ugly and unappealing. Overwatch has Mei and Zarya. Both are non-typical female body types and yet there's still a lot of pron of them.
I still remember when they first released Mei's lunar skin where she actually wasn't fat and people lost their minds so much that the devs went in and changed the skin, and every one after it, to her being chubby.
Totally agree, The second character's armor, the shape and structure of the armor just looks pathetic, Like she's there to be a literal punching bag. I could see her being in a dead end job of going out to pickup golf balls on a driving range with that armor, warrior not so much.
In his defense, he broadly tied the shoes to their character. The first one is a knife assassin--she needed some sort of running sneaker. The second is a 7' tall heavy weapons specialist, a secondary DPS whose proportions wouldn't be out of place hoisting an RPG. Those heels have a solid base--they're not like skinny stilettos that say, "I dance at the club on the weekends to earn money for college." Plant this redesign on a 5v5 back line, and she's not stumbling over her feet.
I love how they MAKE hot women ugly for games (Horizon, and the new star wars come to mind) in the name of "inclusiveness and representation" BUT They went WELL out of their way to change the facial features of the transvestite the Concord character is based on. So they know how to make feminine characters, they just reserve that for male characters who want to think they're women.
what they did to the horizon woman and the starwars outlaws woman is so messed up, theres a few others. absolutely gorgeous women chosen as models , but intentionally made uglier in the game by the devs.
Absolutely. I sent that image from the article showing the real person and the character side by side. She asked me why the character looked so much better, which I explained the whole point was intentional social-engineering through gender line-blurring.

11:30 so basically what you’re saying is that Concord designed the characters around the people who would critique the game, in order to not get criticized lol..
Daw is a self-insert, designed by Professor who is non-binary, so the female face on a more masculine design is accurate. That being said, the name is the absolute worst option also, as "Daw" is the sound you expect that character to make anytime they are verbal.
The problem with the new design it’s that all characters look clearly either a man or a woman, which is not what modern western game developer want, they will think this is sexist.
Now take it easy there, you know where you can consistently find androgynous characters? JRPGs. The point is whether they're attractive or not, that's literally the only thing that matters.
@@timekeeper2538 Ironically the ultra progressives want to deny femboys existence--they say those men are either _"problematic"_ or "actually trans." Same with tomboys to a worrying degree.
All he did is just made the characters "hot". That's not a problem. The problem is that he only picked one version of hot. There's so many types of hot and just because a character has more weight on her doesn't mean she's not hot. He literally just went on the otherside of the spectrum. You can meet in the middle and have good characters.
@seductiveraven4895 I don't know if you ever went to any Comicon but women themselves choose to dress in those "sexually objectified" characters over undetermined hermaphrodite 10 out of 10 times
@seductiveraven4895 don’t care about your pronouns. Women cosplay as the “sexually objectified” characters and overwatch does “sexually objectify” some of their characters. And if they aren’t women will still cosplay it with “sexually objectifying” that character. It’s only a very few who cry about it
"Women don't like playing fat ugly characters either." I can attest to this, back when my mom (Who was and still is fat) was playing Fable 2 she would ensure her character was as slim as possible and would refuse to increase her strength- Which would bulk up the characters muscles. Hell as I tell my friends, if I'm gonna be staring at someones ass the whole game I at least want it to be a nice ass. Male, female, human, furry I don't care- if I'm gonna be stuck looking at it for a hours on end I want it to look nice.
That's part of his juxtaposition idea for tough/sexy, super soldier/Amazon, wearing armour but doesn't need to, having impractical shoes isn't a hindrance to her, having her underwear on show is ridiculous but as a minigun wielding giant she is ridiculous, her six pack is on show too like how dudes who go to the gym or have tattoos walk around shirtless, big ego and the chrome armour and heels lean into that too.
throwing the horny mindset out the window when i say this, i rlly didnt think it was bad, i could hear a argument for the cleavage bc tbh theirs no rsn for the design other than just looking good. Nun wrong w wanting to play a good looking character in a good looking game imo🤷♂️
If you look at it how the game "tried" to incorporate that retro sci-fi aesthetic, the design itself isn't that bad. It has that quirky and impractical feel to it but gives way more personality to the character than the original one.
Here’s the thing about character design: nobody wants to play a character that’s like them. They want to play a fantasy of what they wish they were. Here’s the question: is there anyone who looks at these characters and wants to be them/fantasize about them? Video games are supposed to be an escape from reality, not a reminder of it.
Same with films, it’s all about escapism and playing pretend that we could be that crazy attractive person or have magical powers, whatever. It’s a fantasy and if it isn’t even enjoyable to look at I don’t want to bother
I don't even think it's about fantasizing about the characters, but having characters that make sense in context. Not all characters need to be appealing. When you play a hero shooter you don't expect to see characters there who look like they never leave their room and would be winded after 5 steps, even if the devs think the average gamer is like that. For example Trevor in GTA 5 is not a hot role model, but it's cool because he fits his role well.
I would suggest that he should have made Captain Amari with breasplate, because if you are supposed to be on the front, your front can't be that uncover and only your arms getting the full armor
@@CassCat69 it is intentional, but to mock the designers because their characters are ugly and boring Fixing art is so disrespectful for any artist, but they shouldn't have insulted gamers, this is what they get
8:05 Yes YES! This is what the whole Chinese community has been complaining about for years. In every Hollywood movie where they feature a Chinese character, they always make it weird. When Bingbing Li was casting for Resident Evil, after she sees what her make up artist did to her face, she basically said "what the F is wrong with you? I'm gonna do it myself". And then she did her own makeup and we got a nice Ada Wang. Would have been totally horrible if she let the Hollywood ppl decide what she looked like.
I personally think the redesign of Amari is mid at best. clearly a improvement over the mountain ogre but she should have gotten full armor instead of open zipper and lingerie.
2:50 As a guy with foot fetish that thigh is my weakness. Idc she's black or not she will definitely be my favourite waifu if she's actually designed that way in the game. She'll be perfect if they give her a outfit with jk school uniform with high knee socks or leggings and i swear i will buy the game and the costume pack just for this.
I'm 100% sure his sketch used AI. Look at the minigun going into the thigh. Look at the detail that goes from her boot and around her body, it goes normally on her left (your right), but on her right it fuses together with her belt. Her fingers are also all seem to try go on multiple directions at the same time. Her right hand looks like is doing a closed fist, with the thumb inside while also going down along her thigh, as if she's holding something.

They don't want the male gaze, but it's not just about that. They seem to forget that all the male characters are designed with unrealistic beauty standards as well. No male has ever complained. Im an overweight 45 year old black dude. The last character I'm picking is one "I see myself in." They fug?!?
I'm going for the hot black ninja chick with baby hairs.
loved the new deesigns that he did but he def animated that with one hand
A lot of male characters in these types games are also very small and thin with teenage-like bodies as well.
I don't get those people that get to create their own character and decide to recreate themselves in game.
i want to play the most badass characters to ever exist, like Ryu Hayabusa from ninja gaiden.
I'm not a fan of the second one. High heals and no armor would end up killing her fast. She also looks like a swimmer not someone constantly lifting a canon.
Third one is still ugly. I can't really say anything else because there's no visual indicator of his role. He has NPC vibes though.
The first redesign has that cocky, arrogant, but oddly charismatic character that is fun to play and fun to see in action
I personally would cover up the exposed skin area with a different kind of material in a complementary/neutral color, but otherwise, the redesign is so perfect
Same, second and third are more like redesigns Hajime Sorayama would do and then reject, the first one was great
@tamaratoth8326 What are you on bro!?, The second one is ultra hot and the third one looks 1000 times cooler than the original.

In 2024 the +size thing to do is to claim to be a 10 (at least from what I see on social media.)
Delusional.

The deep V cut is about as exposed as you can get while having something on that someone could call a shirt.
It was very necessary; otherwise, how could you be able to appreciate her abs? 🗿
Yeah the weird thing is I think they made Bazz look worse than the real life person, at least in some photos.
How can any of them pass? You can tell by their shoe size what they got in their pants. Like how Michael Obama has a 11.5 shoe size.

There's so many types of hot and just because a character has more weight on her doesn't mean she's not hot. He literally just went on the otherside of the spectrum. You can meet in the middle and have good characters.
For Amari, I think it would be better to make her become space marine instead
the original designer just took a camera to walmart, and started taking pictures.
Specifically a Walmart in Portland. 🤣
9:33 That's 100% papa Franku and you can't tell me otherwise
Thats joji don't deadname him like that bro, btw have you seen an alien?
@@FloppyhatCult ravioli, ravioli, what's in the pocketoli
@@FloppyhatCult new alien was good. Not ground breaking, but good. It's worth a watch
Ey b0ss cen I habe da pusi plz?
This guy cooked up a storm for no reason other than to kick concord further into the dirt. Bravo.
4:54 'Captain Amari' is also the name of a skin for Ana from Overwatch, Amari being her last name
6:15 ''Women do not like playing ugly fat characters either." yep no one also wants to stare at an ugly character the whole time
@seductiveraven4895 I don't know if you ever went to any Comicon but women themselves choose to dress in those "sexually objectified" characters over undetermined hermaphrodite 10 out of 10 times
@@dk-sky3820 I think the dude is a npc... He literally copy and paste the same thing from another comment.
TF2 character design is premium, study the whys/how characters are designed are the way they are. It all fits together 100%.
He went from practical footwear in the first design and then TOTALLY TOSSED THE NOTION OUT THE WINDOW in the next design at 5:55 😂
That's part of his juxtaposition idea for tough/sexy, super soldier/Amazon, wearing armour but doesn't need to, having impractical shoes isn't a hindrance to her, having her underwear on show is ridiculous but as a minigun wielding giant she is ridiculous, her six pack is on show too like how dudes who go to the gym or have tattoos walk around shirtless, big ego and the chrome armour and heels lean into that too.
throwing the horny mindset out the window when i say this, i rlly didnt think it was bad, i could hear a argument for the cleavage bc tbh theirs no rsn for the design other than just looking good. Nun wrong w wanting to play a good looking character in a good looking game imo🤷♂️
@@MeloFelloJ I do think the bra visible is a bit much lol, unless it was a sports bra or something
If you look at it how the game "tried" to incorporate that retro sci-fi aesthetic, the design itself isn't that bad. It has that quirky and impractical feel to it but gives way more personality to the character than the original one.
@@ZombieChicken-X yeah def understandable
Well, there are beautiful people too. Maybe they want to play as monsters.
@@Catherine.Dorian. 100% on the same wavelength
Beyond untrue, RoadHog is a very popular character in OW, are you saying people want to be fat?
I would suggest that he should have made Captain Amari with breasplate, because if you are supposed to be on the front, your front can't be that uncover and only your arms getting the full armor
But we all know the BRA (Battle Ready Armor) is the best armor
honestly cool concept but went too far with the coomer factor 😂
I think that the Amari redesign is just as bad but in the other direction
@@CassCat69 it is intentional, but to mock the designers because their characters are ugly and boring
Fixing art is so disrespectful for any artist, but they shouldn't have insulted gamers, this is what they get
I'm honestly still going to look into this game when it comes out, just because of the character designs and how the cutscenes will be
The game got shut down
the opened tracksuit is kind of a weird design choice on the 2nd one ngl, if it weren't concord his redesign would definitely have mixed reviews
Yeah that thing about the male gaze was obviously a joke but on that moment I was like : "this time, this might actually be relevant"
I love the redesign of Captain Amari. She went from looking like a giant fat green turd to a straight up anime character. Fucking kino 👌
@@keithsinter5611 yah a militia themed tank that has her chest exposed is ridiculous
I'd play Captain Emari, but I'd never play the original green blob.
Even as a woman I want attractive female characters, they're more fun to play.
3:13 Oh yeah, the one on the left looks like a branch that broke off from a tree, and the one on the right looks like an actual person.
Concord: What could have been.
Concord If It was good
4:27 The high heels are ridiculous 😂 Even Quiet from MGS5 has boots
Yea he really did her dirty the first and 3rd redesign where good tho and I'd actually play them
Honestly gives me 80s scifi anime vibe which maybe is what he was going for?
5:27 bro its like going from Overwatch fan art to a modded Unreal Tournament.
Ok this guy should design game characters
Not super-sold on the Amari redesign - it's a bit too on the nose for me - but the Daw and especially the Baz redesigns are pretty good.
