Cheeky little technique. I suppose a tool could be made that caused it to stop exactly in the sweet spot and high enough to slip down the keyway and lift the pin with a lifting/rocking motion. Fantastic demonstration Paul, very cool.
Sweet stuff LPP i have never come across a Schlage LFIC on a job in Britain but useful to know as might be on some of the airbases around here (most of the sausage digited types have gone back now) churrss matey!
@@paulg413 I am sometimes employed in that respect mostly on a consulting basis when the locals come up blank and the resident doesn't want destructive or drill'n'fill but i isn't cheap as i have another job these days but i did a full apprenticeship down south in the eighties and can pick a bit like ; -)
I'm still trying to figure out what cores go in the Abus 83 so that I can progress as a newbie. Hearing about picking to control & the difference between sfic, lfic etc is putting me off slightly for now. I keep hearing loads of cores are possible for the 83 but struggling to find a source in UK or even what format would be best for me to go with, any advice would be much appreciated.
The are literally Abus 83 Cores, they don't have a control element like SFIC & LFIC locks, I have had trouble finding 83 cores myself, if you're begining then an Abus 83 is a Great lock for teaching security pins and even better if you can locate cores. But the best beginner locks overall if you're in the UK or Europe are job lots of Euro Cylinders on ebay, they're cheap and vary greatly in difficulty, have a look at this vid ruclips.net/video/_1A0pwzwRt8/видео.html
Didn't know that difference between LFIC and SFIC-always glad to learn something new!
Ooof i wanted to get the abloy protec ic schlage core but I think you’ve talked me into otherwise

Thanks Roy, it would have to be very precise but in theory yes, I love a little cheeky technique or two 😁

Very interesting lock! If you ever want to make another tubular lock fidget set, I’d love to purchase one. Have a great day LPP!
I'm working in some ideas at the moment, I may make another if the right bits of wood come together, will let you know 👍

Very nice! That looks like a fun challenge to pick and pull that LFIC.
It's harder than it looks on the vid, a nice bit of trivia
