I wanted to say that I love your videos! I love your chatting to the camera, your sense of humor. Your chatting to the camera makes the viewer feel as if they are there in person. I have watched this whole lapbook series and miscellaneous other vids of yours. I have no idea what I would do with a lapbook but you have done such an awesome job of showing us how to make this and more importantly for people like me, you have shown us how we can decorate it. I am great at building journals, but fall short when trying to decorate and embellish my journals. I loved your video where you painted your mary jane type shoes, I have a pair that I love, but if I decide I want to change them, I can come back to your video and know how to change them up! Sorry for the long comment, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your videos and your personality! I look forward to your next videos!

I just found this series yesterday and only one more to go! I loved it. I love watching and listening to your videos - it's like I'm with an old friend - I'm usually not the one initiating the conversation anyway LOL.
Your comments today about having many projects going at once struck a chord. Today I made and decorated an Elsa/frozen cake for my 2 yr old granddaughter's birthday tomorrow, painted a wicker hamper that I'm going to do some napkin decoupage on and cut out fabric for a pair of shorts. I finish most projects - better with a deadline - but some I lose interest in and they fall into the UFO group. I've learned not to Knit or crochet anything bigger than a hat or it will be passed on - unfinished - to the next generation.
I would love to make a lapbook like this. This may sound strange but while I would love to create one or several I don't think I would like to have one. I'm not a journal person but the creative part of this is so inviting. Now I have to decide who to make it for.
Thank you so much for all of your work in doing these videos and sharing your talents with the masses.

"Enabling the squirrels"--ohmygosh! Laughing so hard I spewed coffee on my keyboard. (Again.) You slay me, dear Nik. Your talent and your humor; and, you know, you GET it. Well, my old books finally came (thank heavens for eBay) by way of the Pony Express (media mail). I have already watched each of these videos twice, but now that I have my STUFF, I will go back through and watch them again. Thank you so much for your generous and joyful spirit. Everyday, when I face up to my dragons, I think of you and how you show the way, and find more courage.

OMG!! I feel like we are two peas in a pod Nik. I am just the same, have loads projects on the go...........I can't sit and 'do nothing' always have to be doing something even if I watch television........... my brain still goes 10-to-the-dozen when I read and I have to re-read pages. I get really excitable and manic easily...... haha!! The only difference is that I LOVE sorting and cleaning.......even the fridge....... I even do things in my sleep haha!! This lap book is just amazing.... I can't wait to make a start on one.... Oh and I love that your hands and nails look like you are crafting, mine were covered in different coloured dyes and inks the other day when I was EXPERIMENTING with trying to change my white trimmings.I will catch up on Seraphina....😃

My son and I are exactly the same: going very exited with a thing, but not be able to concentrate on it for a very long time, or going all for it! Typical!! I get you, Nik!!! Cool! We finally get to know what's happening to Seraphina!! Hugs from Belgium!

Your hands look like mine. I've never been diagnosed as ADD, but my older brother recently was as an older adult. And we are a lot alike. It does explain my inability to ever finish cleaning my house. Parts get cleaned. But nothing ever gets finished before I get distracted. Sigh. And then there's Crow Disease - oooo! Shiny! What were we talking about???
This is really coming out great. Loving all the decisions you are making. Looking forward to the new ideas too.

Thanks for this series--you are always a great inspiration to all!!!
re hyperfocus (and ADD): I once worked for twenty hours straight on a chapter in a book that was going to press the next day. I couldn't recover the footnotes I had inadvertently deleted and had already discarded the handwritten notes. I too am either all on or all off, but I'm grateful for having the ability to have done that.

I love it, it looks amazing Nik!! I can't believe it's almost the finale though, can we have another season 😁 I'll have to check out the Seraphina (sp?) video. Good to know about the fabri Tac being the same. Wal-Mart had both but only the fabri-tac was in the larger bottle (will get that next time if cheaper). My daughter has a large movie ticket collection so I'm making a commonplace type book for her to keep them in. Lots of lovely pockets and tuck spots etc... I'm getting so many wonderful ideas from you thanks so much for sharing 🤗

I'm like you....I have numerous projects going all at once. As a graphic designer/artist, I have found that sometimes you just need to back off for a bit and let things simmer on the back burner for a time. It's all part of the process. Perfect & gorgeous! You always amaze me, with all the perfect detail things, too!
Yes, I tend to do the many irons thing, but it usually starts out innocent! Maybe it's that "mom thing"? Start putting things away and just keep finding other things that need doing. So you, spend a few hours doing stuff, but looks like you didn't do much of anything. So, yeah. Lol
The email thing makes me nuts too!! Almost as bad as the daily spam phone calls.. AAHHH!! Lol
Pretty excited for the Seraphina saga to continue as well!! Was a great story! Had that cliff-hanger ending on the last one too. :)

I have been watching these on my tv in the living room, so much better on the couch. anyway, I got a crazy idea, I am making a tiny version of the lap book for a fairy themed gift I am making for my son's girlfriend. I got into my stash of match boxes and two of them make the perfect start. I am working on some hand stitching now after having glued a floral fabric to the inside and outside of the lapbook, tiny sewing is tricky, but I'm getting it done.

I love the technique. When I make one I’ll probably go less on the decorations because it would be too distracting for me. What’s great about your videos is that it’s all about creating for one’s own personal style, so we don’t have to get discouraged if our end results are not as fancy.

Hi Nik, loving your videos, as usual! I just wondered if you knew about a product called ReDuRan. It is fabulous to get dye based products off your hands. I discovered it some time ago while dyeing some fabrics and I love it. Normally, who cares if your hands are stained, you are a crafter, BUT if you are going out you might just had a go and clean them. ReDuRan is the product! And, no, I don’t have any shares in the company ;-)

My Crafting Buddy is very task-oriented. She starts a project, works on it, finishes it and moves on. /sigh/
I get stuck, bored, have to wait for something to dry, have to switch up tasks to give my arthritic hands a break, the interruptions list is long and varied.
Hubby started buying soft drinks at a wholesale store. They come in shallow cardboard trays. I save the trays. I pitch "a project's stuff" into a tray and place it aside as the list above dictates.
I have stacks of trays with projects in them. When I can't find a particular stencil or stamp - that means it is time to go through the trays. This leads to discovering a project I'd forgotten about, get re-inspired about and today's project gets put in a tray and off we go.

Thanks for the inspiration. I have two lapbooks and three journals in the works might be overkill. Argh!!

Oh my goodness. I absolutely start too many things. I’m a Gemini & so I’ve heard, our minds just never stop running. It’s not ADHD but just that I want to do everything all the time.

I’m still watching this, but had to pause to respond to your comment about too many irons in the fire and people who do things one at a time.
I’m not only just like you, but I have multiple craft interests and I see projects that I like and I order everything for that project. The problem is that I then don’t remember which video I saw those items for and I now have a stockpile of craft supplies and hardly any completed projects. It’s driving my husband crazy!! After I watch this video, I’m going to go back to the beginning of my “liked” videos and try to figure out what projects I wanted to do and try to get at least a couple started!!! It’s really sad.... really, really sad!!
