I have the Canon R5 and use it a lot for photography. If I install the top handle for video there is no way I can install my Speedlite flash on the horseshoe mount of the R5 without the top handle getting in the way. Therefore just the side handle is all I need for photography and video.
Still happy with cage? Or there is any advantage to choose SMALL RIG BLACK MAMBA CAGE ? (More refined version, sophisticated minimal look) On the fence to pull trigger
Hey mate, I actually like the half cage more tbh. As I use this on a gimbal and to take photos having the half cage is more practical. Still maintaining strength and mounting options but with less weight and bulk.
This was great to see someone else talk about rigging a mirrorless setup. I had a monitor for my Canon EOS R, and it just felt too imbalanced because of how heavy the screen was. For me, lighter cameras are a bit difficult to rig out as opposed to some bulkier cinema cameras I've shot with. This video is inspiring me to second think that! Also... Solid cut.
Thanks mate!! Oh I know how you feel about rigging them out. It’s defs something you gotta trial and error a lot.haha. Not fun or cheap but once you find something that works and you like, it’s soo good. I remember once over rigging my mirrorless with vmounts audio recorders etc. I though it was so good.haha. Until I hated having this clumsy rig.

You could also mount the top handle backwards. But the normal set up will interfere with the speed lite
Super useful video brother. I hadn't thought about getting a cage for my R6 until I saw this video!
No worries. Defs check out smallrig, they got so many great options. I dont regret mine at all.
Thank you for the video.
You're welcome
Hey man! Loving your content, Sam Holland sent me over 😁 Keep smashing it bro!
Bro yes! Thanks so much for coming over!!!
@@JoshHodgman No worries dude, glad I did! Keep it coming 🤙
how will i put a monitor on it if the shoe mount is used by the mic
You can use one of the many 1/4 inch threads. more secure then using a hot shoe too. or the top handle has a hot shoe mount aswell
