    Wow 🤩 thx for a great idea for the Spanish moss hanger! I just ordered one and am trying to figure out how to hang it . I am so going to do this and maybe buy a few more to have a really cool long curtain effect. I can hang it in my window that needs a curtain! Plus it will get some sunlight. I am excited to try this. I will update you when it arrives and put in place to let you know how it works out 👍👏

    Next time you cut it make sure you hang it downright the pieces cut not upside down and that will keep the inside from dieing out.

    great idea...I was told that the moss hated touching metal...I guess that when it's painted it's alright ?

      I totally took this idea out of your grow space!! Such a brilliant way of dividing the areas! Now it doesn't look like Cousin It hung himself behind the pitcher plant! LOL

    I thought you shouldn’t use any metal wire? Thanks for the video

      Hey there and sorry for the delay!!! I did not see the notification for this comment somehow!
      I have heard that a lot and believe it has a lot to do with the type of metal used in the wire and whether or not the wire it's self is coated or not. The wire I used for this happens to be coated and I have not seen any major issues so far except for when I have overwatered or not given it enough light. I have noticed that my "curtain" has gotten so thick that the inner most portions of the plant become too shaded and have die back as a result. I am planning on a re-do for this setup soon and when I do I am most likely going to get away from the metal all together.
      Thank you so much for watching! Happy growing! :)

    I thought metal was bad for these? I have only used rope.

      I have heard the same thing but the metal I’ve used has a coating and the Spanish moss doesn’t actually make contact with and metal directly. I plan on coming up with something different for it this year but so far I have not noticed any issues. I overwatered a bit in the fall but other than that it’s still healthy and happy and growing strong. Hoping to see it bloom again this spring/summer. The flowers smell amazing!

      Metal that touches Spanish moss kills it and so does hanging it upside down ! I'd love to see how well his did after all that. I know cause I had the experience of ruining mine way back when I started to grow Spanish moss ... you live you learn...lol

    Be careful, look out for “chiggers” when I was young in Florida we would run through the woods and that stuff was covered in tiny insects that get on your body and bite you in the arm pits, and anywhere else that is dark and humid. It itches for days. Hopefully yours doesn’t have those. It isn’t fun lol 😂

    • @CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore
      @CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore  3 года назад +4

      Same thing happened to me when I was young visiting family in LA. Luckily I bought this from an orchid nursery and it is chigger free! I wouldn’t dare collect this stuff from the wild, unless it was a gift for someone I didn’t like... 😝
      Thanks for watching and happy growing!
