This video made me cry. I remember when I was young and I have no financial freedom, I can't say No to my family members because I live under their care. And that gave me a lot of resentment. I am so mad at them and at my self because I can't even have my own opinion. It is true when Shallon says 'financial freedom is the only freedom'.
Good thing I finished my degree and I am earning good right now. I am not exactly where I want to be in life, but I am getting there ❤

Britney was abused so badly by almost everyone around her including the industry she was in - it's no surprise she snapped, who wouldn't?? I think she's on the right track but not in any position to be having more kids. I think she should go "off the grid" and buy a little villa in Italy or something and just live the rest of her days healing and away from the public eye.

I think Britney needs help (and clearly needed it in 2008 when the conservatorship began). But I feel it goes without saying that she is being exploited by her family. It also seems like Britney is of this thinking on some level because she hasn't exactly been asking (as far as we know) for the conservatorship to end, but rather for her father to be removed from it and for a new conservator. Whatever is truly going on, I hope Britney gets what she deserves.

Britney Spears is bonkers and her instagram is sad to watch. Hasn't she previously admitted that Hypersexuality is a symptom of her mania? Looking at her sexually inappropriate instagram, her rambling ego centric paranoid ramblings...it appears she is in a prolonged state of mania. This is NOT a happy situation. I fear things will end sadly for this girl. She is like Amanda Bynes, completely nuts.

    • @lynnpear20

@@lynnpear20 I think both are true at this point. It's hard for me to believe that at no point during the c-ship, her family didn't see dollar signs for themselves. Sure, she needed the help desperately, but I imagine they wanted their meal tickets too. And yes, the delusion stans are supporting the exploitative treatment of her as well.

I don’t think this video is based on facts because Britney’s dad has not yet actually agreed to step down as conservator, and she was never allowed her constitutional rights when being placed in this conservatorship. Also I don’t believe a declaration of capacity was ever filed with the courts. There is a possibility that she is being taken advantage of and used. I think an investigation is warranted and if Britney does not want her father acting as her conservator then she shouldn’t have to withstand that. She should still have rights as an American citizen. Btw I’m a fan of Shallon- not a hater! I’m also a Britney fan who thinks she is getting ROYALLY screwed.

What made you change your mind on covering the story? Genuine question. I am hesitant to watch this one because I know we disagree on this topic and that is okay. In my opinion everyone has a right to mess up their own life and even if Britney has mental health and addiction issues she deserves independence. On your instagram stories you were saying maybe people like this shouldn't be having children and might need this level of care. I think it boils down to a pretty heavy broader debate about disability rights. I hope you can come to see the other side one day and realize we aren't all crazed Britney fans who are following the story lol! (though I do know the type you are referring to).
The full story is that Jamie has not stepped down. He has agreed to step down only once the final accounting is taken care of (i.e. Britney pays his 2 million in lawyers fees), which really reads like more blackmail. He has been bartering with her over her freedoms for years and he isn't stopping now. It's a really sad situation all around. Anyways, I'm happy to see you found a topic you were comfortable with from the story. Always appreciate your wisdom!

Keep in mind doctors and judges can be bought and/or threatened, given ultimatums, etc. Wherever there are ppl profiting and power being granted, there will be overturned and "over ruled" decisions.
Also, there's a difference between independence and self sufficiency. A person can choose to not be independent, like the British Common Wealth Nations vs. America. Self sufficiency is having the ability to not rely on anybody. Independence is choosing to not join forces.

My favorite part about becoming a pharmacist was the independence it gave me. I used to be self destructive to please others especially my parents. But when I started making money and stabilized my career, I realized and literally said “I make six figures; I can do what I want”. My dad tried to scare me with a “bird falling out the nest”, and my mom threatened the Bible against me for not respecting my parents. Now I have them blocked, and feel so more peace with myself.
I feel the same way with me opting out of dating men and staying childfree. I’m not sacrificing myself anymore.

Hi Shallon! Love your channel. All that court doc said was “he’d step down when the time is right.” That could be when he’s dead. So he’ll basically step down when he wants to, not immediately like Britney wants. The FreeBritney movement is tirelessly trying to remove this “he stepped down”narrative from the internet, that was posted to TMZ by Jamie Spears to calm his storm (I think). Can you help the movement retain attention to the urgency by altering this title a little? Thank you!! ❤️

As a support worker and an old fan of Britneys, I want to point out - you can work stupid hours a day, know how to wash and cook, the basics essentially and STILL be deemed to not have capacity in certain areas of your life. From my understanding if this conservatorship is financial, as you mentioned Shallon, she would not know how handle money, she has not been taught meaning no capacity. She may believe she does, many people without capacity believe they have capacity, but then when they have control over certain areas of their lives they are at risk of losing control/financial exploitation. I do think this is what her dad has been doing to her and thankfully he is stepping down, he should never have been anywhere near her finances. Capacity is a very complicated and interesting topic that should be handled by professionals - not overexcited fans. Yes let her live her life - but also keep her safe from herself as well as others.

I would argue that "Reciprocity" comes from an abundance mindset more than anything else, and it comes from a place of inner strength. If you can take pleasure from being generous to people who are not expecting it from you, you'll get more than you could ever buy. Reciprocity s a learned discipline that does not come natural to most people. You have to be intentional with it.

I think so many people that support Britney agree that she can't independently control her finances and needs consistent day-to-day support with mental health, yet are deeply saddened that the person who controls this is her Father. If he thought that she was truly so mentally unwell that he worked with the courts to advocate that she have no autonomy over her own life, why did he schedule her to tour 180 days a year? Why did her family sign her up for a Vegas residency? If she's not well enough to spend over $1000 of her own money every 2 weeks, she's not well enough to make millions for her family to leech off of.

Idk what britney's father is like right now. But 2 years back, britney, said herself that she loves her father and would do anything for her (she had to cancel her tour bc her father was hospitalized), she said, her father through conservatorship got control of her life, that is how from her crazy days back in the 2000s, she was able to improve and started doing performances, got back her career and also regained custody of her children. But now britney herself have publicly declared that she's sick of being controlled so I don't know who to trust. Tbh I'm still seeing the good in her father

This messaging about independence is important and broken down in a way that can be easily understood by anyone. I'm journaling about it now to self-reflect and pinpoint areas of improvement in my own life. I used to be too independent (island unto myself) but for the past few years my partner (who is good and means well) has supported/spoiled me and it felt nice to be able to rest and breath while someone else took care of things. Now, I feel I've become kind of pseudo-dependant and I take responsibility for that. I want to get to a healthy independent place and this criteria is a good place to start.

it is sad how the focus is mostly on the legal mess beside the real problem, that is how her circle should help her. Hope the best for her.

I think britney might need a conservator for her own financial safety in the long run as her behavior has been questionable for quite some time, BUT I do think it should be someone separate from her family/friends. It should be a trustworthy person with credibility who could be overseen/questioned by family/friends/maybe even britney herself, but all of those people would not have access to her money. The Spears family needs to watch this, because they definitely need to learn to be independent. That family should live within THEIR means, not Britney's.

I wonder, and maybe this was mentioned in another video/comment, was she in a serious state of PPD all those years ago? She had children one right after the other basically I could see that being a catalyst into so many issues. Along with the working, hardly any privacy, doctors that may or may not have treated the PPD if she was dealing with it. The disorders that are there now could have always been there and the PPD just quickened their appearance.

Being Alone and free is than being surrounded by people but still feeling dependent and needy. Idk man, I think it's better to be dependent on you and only you. I agree when Shallon said that she finds it shocking how some people don't want to become independent and grow themselves first but want to make major life decisions like marry and have a baby. I feel like people (especially us women) want to be whisked away to what they assume is happiness but is really just co-dependency and getting the false-security blanket of never being lonely.

Rihanna's character in ocean's 8 was quite independent which is btw my the most favourite movie!! She was going to get some 7 or 8 millions dollar for doing the dirty work of hacking the security systems and all that but she had this sexy attitude of not working the whole time throughout even though her cut was an enormous price and she wasn't even rich. To me that was such an independent bossy attitude who prioritised herself more than anything else let it be millions of dollars overnight in your bank account. These are the kinds of people who can't be manipulated or pushed around and they are managers of themselves first of all

At first I wanted Britney Free but now.....not sure!! If her Instagram is anything to go by she is ERRATIC to say the least! And what is with all these recent topless photos?! Surely if you are trying to prove that you are a responsible adult doing that is not going to help your case! And fans shouldn't be encouraging her to do it. I swear Britney will join Only Fans next but I really hope not - she is better than that!

She probably had sevvere postpartum and how many celebrities have acted so much worse and were not treated like britney has been. I would think the point of conservatorship, which Included her person, should have been to help her learn to be successful in her personal life not control everything she does as if she is still 12. He father could have handled his part so differently with a positive outcome.

The only problem is why did her own father need to put her in conservatorship that handles her money, why couldn’t he and the rest of the family just been there in her life if they truly cared and loved her. I’m one to side with doctors and lawyers, but after what happened with Micheal Jackson and his doctor that went against his own license, who kept giving him a drug that Micheal liked but was illegal to use to put him to sleep, being controlled by his managers I don’t really believe Britney’s aren’t corrupt and being controlled.
