Taraji P. Henson Thank You For The Wealth Of Information.👏🏽👏🏽
I feel her PAIN!!!
We need more women like this and not instagram models
Good Lord! If I could like this comment 1 million times, I would!
Agree
Not Tik tokers. They're useless.
👏👏👏👏
My respect just soared through the roof for this beautiful woman....we see you, your work and we honour you. Thank you ❤
It took me a long time, as a "strong" black woman, to stop hiding behind my mental illness.... depression and anxiety. I'm free and willing to discuss it with anyone who will listen. Especially if helps THEM. I'm not ashamed
anymore. As a black community we need to stop this stigma. Maybe it's the stress of ALWAYS having to be "strong", "independent"..... damnit I'm tired!!!
Yes to this! I’m 32 and just now going back to work after taking two months off due to panic and anxiety attacks. I never wanted to admit that I was depressed. A functional depressed woman. One day at a time is how I’m taking it with prayer. It’s a process but talking about it helps. Keep sharing your story to those who want to listen. Because of ppl like you willing to share, it helps me so I thank you
@@Nu_stateofmind Stay strong. I'm not going to say it gets easier with time because it doesn't. Therapy helps for me and allowing yourself to know that it's okay if you can't function that day. Just try again the next day. One day at a time. But you're gonna be good...... you're gonna be good!!!
@@MicsDown2Nonsense Thank you!!!!!!
I SINCERELY thank you for using your celebrity to bring real AWARENESS! I was 12 the first time I attempted suicide and still struggle with PTSD, OCD, INSOMNIA, ANXIETY AND MOOD DISORDER. Living is a DAILY struggle.
I pray to god you keep going sista! Peace and light
Le'Lani Johnson sending love , kisses and a warm hug
Me to. I have constant anxiety. Panic attacks, insomnia, major depression. I plan to commit suicide within the next 3 years. I can’t live like this anymore
@@mizzmini45 You hold on there now love. Seek your consoling, your counselling, your God/dess. ..Seek yourself. There is help out there. Get your healing and take your freedom by the throat! #WeWillOvercome
@@mizzmini45 I have some of the major illnesses as you. I'm In my 20s and i honestly don't know how I'm going to make to an old lady. But i will say Listen to the advice the above commenter gave.
3:02 I felt the weight of that statement in every fiber of my soul. Between those ages (of 5-12), I didn’t even know what suicide was - let alone how to go about actually executing it. It’s genuinely alarmingly disheartening how many children have taken their lives, not even allowing themselves to experience a full 1/5 of their life 🙏🏾
I am thankful to Taraji for this conversation and promoting mental health!
Amen,🙏 This Definitely Needed A Platform From A Retired Nurse.
She is so right everything she is saying is so true ,this is so educational and inspiring ,I love taraji ,she is so real ,I’m dying to see the movie
I always try to encourage and be there for my friends with mental depression, sometimes i take a step back to check were i am mentally as well!
Congrats @taraji
My GOD! Such a powerful speech. The stories and trauma in the oceans, but yet we survived. Loved hearing of Priscilla's life and lives of each woman Taraji had the opportunity to portray in her acting career. Awesome Taraji. I'm so proud of you, especially providing the opportunity for generations to come! Love you.
Yess, I agreee!
Heart breaking
Wow, what a phenomenal job. This Lady is not playing. DON’T STOP, we hear you loud and clear.
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU
When she started to cry her voice Shook me 🙏🏾 she’s so right, I fell into another episode of depressed, I was contemplating suicide..in my room for about 2 weeks and would not leave my room. I would barely eat, and had tissues from me crying all over the floor. . But my mom Did not the recognize depression In me.. then my brother caught a small cold in the house and my mother said “You got your brother sick, remember all those tissues near your bed.”😞
I hope your okay today love ❤️
I love this lady! 😃
Thank you for bringing awareness to mental health. We need this is our community 🙋🏾♀️
Thank you its time to deal with it!
This will help other ongoing Campaigns that are fighting against the Stigma around 'Mental Health Issues'. The Stigma is in all communities.
*_When it comes to Mental Health people who suffer this condition usually suffer alone; friends & family don't know what to do. They don't really understand it and Society in general has this stigma around it. There are those who would rather keep away from a person who is experiencing mental health issues_* instead of being there for them anyway they can. Taraji has been doing some great work over the years and this is one of the best ways of giving back to her community.
The stigma is more serious in Black communities.
What a moving inspiring speech by Taraji, and what she’s doing to shed and bring light to mental health and illness...💛👏🏾 Such a great actress and compassionate human being. “The struggle is real.” That is indeed true..
Taraji is a QUEEN for young women to look to. I love you!!
You are Greatly APPRECIATED, the struggle is Real I’m a living testimony, God is Awesome worthy to be Praised 🙏🏾
I just ❤️ Ms. Taraji! She is so real, so transparent, so inspiring and encouraging. She’s a star ⭐️ for more reasons than just tv and movies, she’s a star because she is helping others. God bless her in everything she puts her hands to do.
Thank You Taraji🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you Taraji for highlighting mental illness! I’ve been helping a family member by myself and it’s hard! I’m trying every day to keep myself encouraged and with income and help my sibling. It’s so hard! She doesn’t trust anyone and is paranoid. She takes medicine but doesn’t trust anyone to go to therapy consistently. I juggling my life and keeping a job with her needs. Pray for me! I won’t stop! I won’t let this bring me down! I’m tired but I will continue to strive! God bless anyone going through this battle! Stay encouraged and I will too! 🙏🏽⭐️
This message / speech was so powerful for me. Taraji P Henson, I'm with you all the way sweetheart. So let me start doing my research, love you girl
Thanks Taraji P. Henson
Intelligent woman 😘
I almost cried. I salute you Taraji and love you...
"I am filled by the power of your courage to win or fail. Whatever the case, keep going." ~ Taraji P Henson. I love this.
The struggle is real ....anxiety and depression affects us all ...black, white, brown, yellow, man, woman, child, Etc ....the stigma needs to be broken in our society as a whole in every community .....she focuses on the black community and black girls and women ....that’s wonderful ...
Mental illness does not discriminate though .....Represent for ALL who suffer regardless of gender, race, religion or nationality ....
I understand focusing on your own race or gender but I prefer to focus on Humanity as a whole ❣️
Thank you for speaking out it helps so much ❤️
In 2011, Taraji served as the commencement speaker at the high school I taught at. She has always held a special place in my heart. I absolutely love her passion for everything she does. She is such a blessing. I’m not surprised she’s lifting this issue. We need it and we need her. Thank you Taraji. 💛💛💛
Thank you taraji! We are silenced raped abused beaten and have no voice have no choices mistreated not seen not even noticed not even given sympathy based off how “normal” we look but criticized for how “crazy” we act or think or speak. We are supposed to be seen not heard and I’m grateful that the mental health stigma. I had to give in and let go. That goes for us men too
I love this massive respect to Taraji P Henson ☀️
In my community East African Muslims in London, England 🇬🇧 if you mention the word of mental health it's problem. People will say you are cursed and the devil has processed you, it's sad in all these years black people are not developing mentally and believe nonsense. It's important to have coverage to ask for help, when I first told someone about my physical anxiety I was so sacred being a mum I thought I don't want to ruin my children reputation, what will my family think, what will my community think. but today I'm happy I did that because it saved my life and my children accept my struggle and they love me for being honest. Don't be scared to get the help you need, Taraji P. Henson storey was truly inspirational.😊
One of the best speeches I have ever seen. Searingly honest.
Taraji your Amezing and powerful Women for every womens, i'm from Ethiopia Love you so much sis😍😍😍
Truly amazing- all races suffer by this stigma- but the fact that you are speaking up for this & fighting God Bless You. - Christina
I pray for everyone.....I am in tears right now I am speechless. Love you Taraji
Taraji thanks for being concerned about others and on how you give so liberally unto the needy lives that's in distress or to that someone that just need a listening ear. But you know how it is to struggle and go through from your lowest point in life to victory the testimony that you gave about your going to California with practically nothing for a better life stands out that you are an overcomer I applaud you. My sister you and Morris Chestnut did a film called "Not Easily Broken" which illustrated a tested love that survived the intrusion of some unneeded input from others but you fought for that marital union to remain as one and it did! Thank you for being a trailblazer that provokes other women to rise up to a more meaningful level of worth and positivity in our expectations so that we can work to accomplish and receive the best that God and life has to offer. Keep being the inspiring and empowering woman that you are through your verbal speech which gives all women the confidence to do better. Taraji God loves you my friend so embrace His presence! God bless you, from your sister in Christ in Hammond, LA.

Ughhh words can't explain how beautiful her words were 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙌🏾🙌🏾💞🌹🌹💞💞💞
I would like to be a counselor or to even have my group talking to anyone about there troubles. I have a strong 💪 gift 🎁 that people like telling me things when I don’t even asked them. The only problem I hate math so they would want me go to school.
Same here 💗
Thank you this topic of mental I noticed keeps getting brushed under the rug. Talking about what your feeling when u feel what's bothering u its imperative we help people talk .
Bless her heart for never forgetting. God give Taraji the strength to keep going.
My heart. So beautifully spoken and a reminder to me (with my 1st world, deep rooted, & millennial problems) to keep going. I pray we all can.
One day at a time, and pray the lord carry you those days that it's harder than others
Beautiful speech. So true
Taraji, YOU ARE A PHENOMENAL WOMAN! You are what Maya Angelou was talking about! Thank you Kindred Soul! We ALL stand with you!!! We ALL stand for our FUTURE.......OUR CHILDREN! You deserved this honor and many many many more!!!!
She is such an inspiration
I had Hormone and Thyroid issues that made me feel mental and now I am much better I understand adversities I know it is very very hard I pray for you because we all have issues regardless of what they are we should try to help one another and pray for each other moreover I truly wouldn't have made it through without my Heavenly Father when I Look back I see how far he has?brought me I'm truly Grateful. Honestly during the time when I was growing up we had a difficult time my Mother raised all of us by herself mostly. Our grandparents were a God sent as well. Our Mom is and was a very strong with alot of accomplishments which helped us to know how to work hard and all about respect. I know it takes alot to stand in front of folks and be real.In this day and age there's not alot of that going on. Take care.
I admire her eloquent and articulate flow of speech...such a gifted strong woman

I have had depression since my teens. I am 52 now. My life has been bitter sweet. On going silent struggles with difficult and slow success. Surounded by family with depression who used alcohol. It is exhausting. Exhausting. God bless.
