Really is terrifying. What's worse is the firefighters may have not been expecting that 2nd blast and would've been killed before they could even think of their goodbyes.

The morning i woke up to the explosion it was like a movie scene because black ash was falling from the sky. No one died because it was over night, but i heard someone left something out and it spilled on something causing an explosion.
I'm just talking about how amazing the force was without any real information or understanding of physics. Oh I must be a news reporter, we just say things.
why BBC did not mention that port in every nation had same facilities storage and transportation of such chemical goods. such tragedy could also happen in UK too.
Its sad really. There are some cars that looked like they somehow escaped the blast and fire. Sad when you see a child and a childs room. You hope they were ok and not injured. I cant imagine how loud and intense that blast was so close to that building.
Rob Tennant i believe there was a fire at a near by petrol station, the explosion sparked some chemicals in the plant leading to a string of explosions, not 100% but thats what i've read
G0DzTANKz there was a fire among the containers containing unknown chemicals, rookie firemen sprayed water at it instead of using concrete and sand, 50 of them learned their lessons by getting evaporated
@@cherrypepsi2815 Not false at all. A nuclear bomb with the same yield as a regular bomb will produce a MUCH bigger explosion, and then there's the radioactive fallout.

i challenge BBC to carry out polls whether local resident in UK are even properly being informed out about what kind of chemical are stored in their warehouse, port.
how could they place a chemical warehouse next to resident with only 3km away...this is so wrong..official said only 12 firemen were injure such a bs to cover this up, they send in 120 firemen into this disaster and only 4 came back out after the explosions. and that haven't include the police and worker which were around the area, the death and injure rate is 4 times or more than the official said, 50 death and 700 injury... china china... sigh
Suzanne Marie Then alas your husband needs to learn some basic physics, learn how explosions work, watch a load of war documentaries with oodles of typical footage, then he'll understand.
According to the article the material stored at the plant was Naptha, a petroleum derivative. Naptha is an oily material with a relatively high flash point. It is a slow burning material and as such in an explosion would not generate a great deal of explosive energy since it has such a slow burn rate. Big explosions are caused by rapid burn rates and Naptha just does not fit with what I saw. We had a similar lie foisted on us here in the US when a fertilizer plant in Waco Texas exploded. Fertilizer will explode but it has to be confined, the fertilizer at this plant was stored out in the open and as such might have burned but not exploded. Further the explosion was far larger than the accumulated material would support. The news services assume that the public is uninformed and for the most part they are correct.
No petrol station could explode with that kind of power. Then other news say it was a shipment of explosives. So we do not know. Also thats not just 21 tons of TNT. its more like 2,000 tons or more.
I'm not sure what kind of 'dangerous chemicals' they were storing in that warehouse, but methinks hazardous material handling protocol reform is in order.
