    In photoshop was an option that allows you to do the exact same as these sites, but it's only on these newer versions and it's not that magical, but way more useful if you have to modify something if you need to. The tool it's called _Select subject,_ you have to first select the selection brush an then bellow the top menu you will find that button (make sure to select the right layer to make work properly this tool), then as the final step apply that mask to separate to another layer and optionally fixing the mask.

    I got this response from Pexels that contradicts this vid: "You are not allowed to sell the photos or use them on physical products you sell without first updating, modifying, or otherwise incorporating new creative elements into the content to add value and make it your own.
    This means you cannot simply crop the image, remove the background, apply a filter, overlay a text, change the color of the image, or add simple photo enhancements and then sell the photo. Some examples of what you could do to significantly alter the image to make it your own would be: adding artistic typography and/or other graphic elements to the images; using an element of a Pexels image in a collage; using an element of a Pexels image as a background for your own content."

    Never ever resize an image larger than its source for printing, unless it's a vector.

    • @haideralee9293
      @haideralee9293 3 года назад +2

      why?

    • @BlueJDev
      @BlueJDev 3 года назад +14

      @@haideralee9293 because you cannot create more pixels out of what is there without losing quality very quickly. The system has to guess what each new pixels colour should be. This does not apply to vectors as they use math to generate the image. JPEGs and pngs etc will not look great if enlarged and printing will make anything pixelated look very tacky and make the image even worse because printing requires a high dpi and large scale image. For example A4 paper at 300dpi(which is the min needed for a sharp image) is approx 3500px X 2400px. That's larger than a hd 1080p BG image(1920x1080). As suggested you may possibly get an ok image when upscaling an image via an AI program but it still won't be great. It's like trying to watch an SD video full screen on a 4k tv, it will look bad and if that is for something that is being sold it will simply not look professional and put people off.

    As someone that actually posts photos that I take, this is my input. Red bubble is great if you want to put some products there and forget because you don’t need to make social media posts to promote it. So it’s great for passive income. It takes a year to get your first sale so work on other things if you really need the money. Now seeing this, will definitely make the market saturated but if you make something unique but has people buying it then you will be chilling. IMO I think this is sort of stuff is common and if red bubble actually care they would update TOS to have a right to remove this. Again IMO I think the only creatively from this is how to make a quick buck. As long as it doesn’t actually bury talented creators then I’m chill with it

    I do have a question on how RB sells their products. If I were to make a design for a phone case would I have to have to have the Phone Case or does RB have phone cases where they can then just stick my drawing onto it?

    • @PassiveOwl
      @PassiveOwl  3 года назад +1

      Yes Roberta, they provide the products, print, ship, and do customer service! Sorry for not specifying, I usually make videos with the assumption that people already know about RB.

    If you're using Photoshop anyway, make use of Select > Isolate Subject. Mask and you easily cut out the background without paying another website.

      Thanks for this. Sadly if you're using an old Photoshop like me, or just don't have access like many of my audience, you have to improvise! Great that you pointed this out for people though.

    Thank you for this great video. I have a question about the pixels. Redbubble required many pixels sizes. Do you think that using a bigger size pixel would work fine for an item asking for smaller pixels. Example: 4500 x 5400 that I use for tee shirt and using this size for a sticker or something else?

    Same thing does removing background and adding some drawings count as making it a unique photo for sale?

      If you remove background and leave enough space between each sticker, there shouldn’t be any problems. You can test and see how it turned out in sticker preview when you upload them.
