Some times I come here and put this on while I clean my house, read, or make dinner, just listening to this is such a pleasure! I am so disappointed in the gaming industry these days for not having the talented, creative people that used to really churn out excellent work. TR is the very best all time game franchise, in my opinion.
I worked at Core Design from 1996 to 2003 and worked on Tomb Raider 2. When CORE went down I obtained Nathan's Roland JV-90 synth with the expanded orchestral card fitted that still had all the original TR sounds on like brass, strings etc. All lovingly named 'TR-01, TR-02' etc. I was skint about 10 years ago and sold it on eBay. Biggest regret ever flogging such an iconic item for a measly £200 (I think it was).
Paul Riet Many values of the game are great. I used to love the mystery, that feeling of exploring and the soundtrack is spectacular. I spent some time wanting to be an archaeologist although finally I thought it wouldn't be like those amazing travels of Lara. This game definitely inspired me and changed me, I like expeditions, I love the mystery and the ancient ruins and partly it is because of this game, though I'm not as fit as her ;-P
The music throwed me back to my young adult. I played this TR 1 when my first daughter was just born, now she just got married..time flies like lightning

This brings back so so many amazing childhood memories ❤ the days we would watch my dad play for hours screaming at him to grab the ledge properly and then watch him show off with the handstand water dive ❤
I cry a bit inside now.. when i hear the oldschool games... I miss the old days when i was 8 and played it because it had something unique something well.. feels.. :''( These days now are fucked up...
The tomb Raider that started it all :-) listening to the soundtrack brings back so many happy childhood memories. I was 10 years old when tomb raider 1 came out on the Sony ps1 back in 1996. As soon as I played it I was hooked. I'm a huge tomb raider and Lara croft fan for the past 19 years.
Dude! We were born in the same year, 1986. It's a trip to hear your story sound so similar to that of my own. Tomb Raider is special, and I think it was a product of its time, but amazingly it remains a relevant and revolutionary force to this day.
I'll never understand why someone thumbs down a title or music when coming to visit a page specific to a game. You came here because you liked the game. If you did not then move on, why waste time even clicking the thumbs down button. Again, makes no sense to me.
tomb raider 1-2 had that atmosfere that make it so good,i played the last one well amazing graphics and all but how tomb raider made me feel while i was playing 1 its not even compared and only that after 20 years im here to enjoy this music and that feeling says it all,im sure there is no way after even 1 year to come back and check the last tomb raider.
This sound track of tomb raider is something out of this world I listen to it everyday it helps me sleep and I picture in my mind what heaven would sound like. So peaceful. 👼
Yeah, similar to me back in the day. I can still remember Crash was my first love, then came Tomb Raider 1 followed by Res Evil 2. So much nostalgia for this holy trinity. The rest become a blur. I will play vid games till the day I die FTW.
My first gaming system was pong back in the late 1970's when I was 6-7 years old. Then came the Atari 2600, Atari 2800, Coleco Vision, Nintendo, Sega genesis, Sega Saturn and finally my very first intro to the ps1 and this awesome game! Best of its time!
I love these soundtracks. It brings back to us all, so many memories of our childhood. Happy and scary, Good and bad.. But that ''shitty'' shift that we had to press all the time, the ''Walk'' button, the screen was turning black from the game and it was changing on the main background of our pc, giving us a warning about changing any key of it and we had to get back to the game, Lara was ending up dead, beaten, eaten or even worst falling from a high spot. AND WE HAD TO START IT ALL OVER AGAIN FROM THE ''Save Point''. The WORSE PART of all this game, is that we had to save it all the time. But still, this is one of the best games that were invented ever. ;) Tomb Raider forever! ;) (not to mention that those ''getting trophies'' or ''finding a passage'' sounds were giving me a heart attack.. o_O)
this makes wanna cry :(...i used to be with brothers watching them playing when the ps1 was a titan and it still to us to the guys who has good taste in games Tomb raider the best game ever but not the latest and new ones :( Ahh...............great memories with lara in the ps1..im crying :'(
The music filled the world with wonder, indeed! I never considered the significance of the music influencing the environments, but it really does set the tone.
Without him Lara wouldn't be as nearly as successful as she was and is that's for sure! But it was also the whole team who created her. A room full of creative geniuses back in the 90s.
ahh the sweet sweet memories of locking the butler in the freezer, trying a million times to unlock the atv...trying five more million times to do an actual dive off of the diving board...
Kirsten Skeels Diving at the highest peak of an area just to hear the sick crunch and "Unnnn" of her dying. Yeah I tried that one time and decided that the novelty wore off just doing it once. Because dying in game happened too often to make it happen more than need be. ;-)
What an absolutely fantastic soundtrack to a fantastic game. This, Zelda, FF7 all seem to have put real effort into the tracks and it really made the games the classics they become.
14:34 Puzzling 15:58 The Chase These tunes gave me near heart-attacks. They played whenever something big and scary was going to happen in the game. Like those monsters suddenly appearing to scare the shit out of you. Love.
I remember back in the 90's I had PC with CD drive that had option to play audiofiles from CD with just a buttonpress. I would pop the TR1 cd and listen it for hours. It also played audio from cutscenes which I didn't manage to watch yet so it was especially interesting :P
I remember my mom and dad playing this game as a child and I would run around the house shooting my fake pistols when ever "puzzle" played and my parents would put me in time out.... good times
Nathan McCree is going to release a new Tomb Raider album as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations. There is going to be a Tomb Raider Suite concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in London on December 18th, featuring all music from the first 3 games. The album he said will will be released I think before the concert.
If you have an iPhone/iPod you can get a copy of TR and TR2 in the app store the controls takes some time to get use too but all in all a fun nostalgic experience
WTF No It's Not If You Want This Lara Back Talk To GOD Cause They Will Make Another Game With 2013 Lara Well You Prefer The Old One I Prefer The New One We Like That We Want :)

You know, if you put the actual Playstation game in a CD player, it will play the entire soundtrack. I learned that back in the day. Crazy!
The best soundtrack on any game then and now.
Ha Ha !! Thats what I just said :) \m/
Bro tr3 or 4 is one of the best
Absolutely! I love hearing this any time, such amazing music.
I worked at Core Design from 1996 to 2003 and worked on Tomb Raider 2. When CORE went down I obtained Nathan's Roland JV-90 synth with the expanded orchestral card fitted that still had all the original TR sounds on like brass, strings etc. All lovingly named 'TR-01, TR-02' etc.

the best game in this old days I ever played
I wanna cry because this was a childhood classic ;)
i know exactly what do you mean(((
I know what you mean but music aren't really good, don't you think?

HOW YOU DARE SAY THAT
I was 19 years old in 1997,the best years of my life!
Longing for home hits differently. I remember my sister and dad playing this when I was about 6 or 7. This one always brought back the most memories.
This game change my life...
my life too!!!
lol in what way? did you become a more badass woman by striving to be like Lara?
Paul Riet Many values of the game are great. I used to love the mystery, that feeling of exploring and the soundtrack is spectacular. All Tomb Raider games changed my life, it just that todays Tomb Raider music is no where as good as the 1st four games.
I named my doughter Lara, and not Lara from Dr Živago!!!!:-)))
The music throwed me back to my young adult. I played this TR 1 when my first daughter was just born, now she just got married..time flies like lightning
I can hear bats flapping their wings all the way through the video.
LMAO
Ha ha !! Me too :) \m/
Yeah you can almoust see the Corona virus!
Music extracted from a damaged CD
This was the first video game I ever owned and it blew my mind.
good old days full of wonderful memories what a game that was music and soundwise
I'm so glad I grew up with Tomb Raider. The only reason I would play this game was because of the music itself.

Great memories with this game. Soundtrack is one of my all time favorites

Lara croft tomb raider was an excellent game kept me interested for a long time brilliant storyline
The greatest masterpiece of my life.
I remember me playing this game in the Sega saturn...This soundtrack makes me cry, the main theme...pfff :')
20 years old and crying over this beautiful soundtrack that gives me chills as it's always the first time I play the game
This sound track of tomb raider is something out of this world I listen to it everyday it helps me sleep and I picture in my mind what heaven would sound like. So peaceful. 👼
it was the first game on my sony playstation back then, right between tekken 2 and spyro 1, since then, i love video games!
Yeah, similar to me back in the day. I can still remember Crash was my first love, then came Tomb Raider 1 followed by Res Evil 2. So much nostalgia for this holy trinity. The rest become a blur. I will play vid games till the day I die FTW.

Damn, this fills me with so much nostalgia. Really sentimental.
The theme song brings back so many memories. But Tomb Beauty at 13:15 is the one I wanted to play over and over.
Tomb beauty, also my fave! 😉

I love these pieces. Nathan McCree was very important for the success Tomb Raider, no doubt!

Epic
14:34 Puzzling

Tracks by Martin Iveson and Nathan McCree. Great songs, anyway ;)
feat. Lara Croft?
She was not featured, she was the main character! =0
Yeah Like WTF
I Discovered On The PS1 Game On A Part Of The Game Box There's Like This ''feat. Lara Croft''
Actually they(Core design) branded Lara as a star even before she became one. TR 2 is branded as Staring Lara Croft
I wish the og tomb raider games would be digitally remastered for the new systems
Yup, it's coming next year
