I did the exact same thing by putting bolts through the three legs. I also did one other addition by welding a 1" piece of angle iron on each of the three legs and then lag bolting it to my cement floor. This was because my grinder got tipped over and broke two of the tabs off.
Just a thought...you could do like the hi low screws on a saw, and use a compression spring on adjustment bolts instead of the wing nuts. Just a thought. I'm sure you thought of it, but in case you didn't...
