It is an honor to have our Sashiko Jacket being exhibited at William Morris Gallery as a part of "Mingei: Art Withour Heroes". Mingei is another Japanese word that I would like to explain in the context of Sashiko. I talked about it briefly on the Live Streaming on April 4th - and I thought it was important. So Here is a Clipping of a Brief Perspective of Sashiko and Mingei.
For more context, please check the Full Live Streaming from below.

What might help those who do not speak/read Japanese… is to understand Mingei word etymology. Min=folk/peasant Gei= art/accomplishments. Mingei is ‘folk art’ which includes pottery & other ordinary objects. Sashiko is specific -quilting/decorative stitching which may or not follow traditional folk art designs.
